The entire season came down to this. One game, one chance to cement themselves in DSFL history. Some of these players won’t ever play in their respective uniforms again. If there was any game to put everything on the line this was it. Coming into this game the top two teams from the regular season were pitted against one another once again. The Luchadores who had the best record in the regular season came in after a win against the Marshalls. They were being led by running back Ducky Donut who had an electric season. On the other side of the ball they were led by Jordan Andrews, the third overall pick in the prior DSFL draft. He also had a very good season. The other team coming into this game was the Pythons. They had the second best record in the regular season and came into this after blowing out the Coyotes. They were being led by their quarterback Franklin Armstrong. He comes into this game knowing that this will be his last game in a Pythons uniform. Another key piece of their team is wide receiver Hugh Mongo. Mongo comes off of an absolute monster season and is very high in wide receiver of the year running. The favorites going into the game were the Luchadores as they had the better record in the regular season and arguably the better team. This game started as a brawl in the first quarter, with no team able to get an edge on the other. However, Ducky Donut was able to punch in a touchdown to give the Luchadores a lead of seven. In the second quarter they were able to expand their lead. McCann threw a four yard touchdown to increase the lead by seven and Ducky Donut again was able to punch in a touchdown. Knowing that they needed to put some points on the board. They were able to drive down the field in the closing minutes of the second quarter and score a touchdown. Going into the half time break the score was 21 - 7. After the half time break the teams came back fired up and ready to go. However, neither of them were willing to budge in the third quarter. They both kept each other scoreless and going into the fourth quarter the Pythons knew they needed to score. Tijuana didn’t let that hold them down and they scored a touchdown off of a pass from McCann. The Pythons would not allow getting more embarrassed than they already were. In the closing minutes of the fourth quarter they were able to punch in one final touchdown off of the legs of Rkansaw. Tijuana was able to win another Ultimini and they will always be apart of DSFL History. All about the QBs(McCann vs Armstrong) We are again going to talk about the Ultimini, but instead of focusing on the entire game we will only focus on one aspect of the game. Today we will be focusing on the quarterbacks, the leaders of the team. From the Pythons we have the league’s leader in both passing yards and passing touchdowns, Franklin Armstrong. He comes into this game after beating the Coyotes in which he threw for 235 yards and 1 touchdown while he gave up 1 interception. Many believe that he will win the quarterback of the year award. From the Luchadores we have Jordan McCann. He was originally a wide receiver before switching positions and becoming the Luchadores starting quarterback. Although the Luchadores usually pound the run game and he had less attempts than the other quarterbacks he still had a very solid season. He helped the Luchadores beat the Marshals in the semi-finals by throwing for 121 yards but he did not throw any touchdowns. So in this game most expected Armstrong to take the upper hand based on both his tpe and his experience. For example, Armstrong has played 3 seasons in the DSFL while this was just McCann’s rookie season. In the first quarter of the game McCann didn’t throw the ball much at all so technically you could say Armstrong played better. The rest of the game went pretty much like that. Armstrong had more yards per quarter but he had the worse passing rating. At the end of the game Armstrong ended with 257 yards which was 171 more yards than McCann’s 86. However, McCann ended the game with more touchdowns and 2 less interceptions than Armstrong. It makes deciding who played better much harder. Do you care more about stats or winning but that's up to you. In my opinion Armstrong played better won this matchup. 12) Sit down with a Star (Ducky Donut) 1) Why are you the best running back in the season 17 draft class? I mean there's some pretty heavy competition there, as you can see by the stats and predictions for the draft, however I think if I get taken I can be a sleeper prospect. I have had a good season in the DSFL so far and I think that might put some spotlight on me, but i think that a lot of people think that I will be a bust in the NSFL. I want to prove them wrong if they think that I won't be great in my career. 2) Having knocked off the Marshals and advancing to play the Pythons in the Ultimini, do you expect to win it all? The pythons are a great team and were defenitely who I expected to be going up against when we made it to the Ultimini. I think our team is the best in the DSFL and I have an expectation to continue that success in the championship game. We showed what we could do in the playoffs against San Antonio, and I think that we can do just as well against the Pythons. Our team is amazing, I expect a win, anything else would be disappointment. 3) Although you do not have as much TPE as the other running backs in your class you had a monster season. Do you think that your stats will raise your draft stock and where do you believe you will get drafted? Like I said earlier I think that I could be a sleeper pick in the draft. The TPE is kinda a problem because Ive been kinda inactive with real life stuff, however if a team takes a chance on me in the draft I could become a real steal. I'm not convinced myself that I will even get taken, even due to my great statline this year, however if I don't I can just carry my team to another Ultimini (cough cough) and if I don't get taken I can try my best to get another chance next year. 4) When Reddit recruitment started a ton of new players started to flood in. What are your thoughts on the large class and possible DSFL temporary expansion? Well I was recruited by a reddit post myself this year, and I think it'd be great to have more players in the league from these recruitment efforts. I think that it's a great opportunity to get a lot of new talent in the DSFL and NSFL later, and have an incentive for more players to start getting active as there is more competition for a spot in the draft. Sit down with a Fan(Jay Cue) 1) As you are about to be drafted into the DSFL. How did it feel watching the Ultimus knowing you could be there some day? It's mainly a strange feeling, due to being on the game for only a few days. I look at the players from my position (QB) and still have no idea how much time they used to develop and be a part of an Ultimus. But at the same time I can't help but think, if they made it, i can do it to. Let's hope it happens, first step is to be drafted. 2) While watching the Ultimus, who was the most interesting? Which player caught your eye? I was mainly watching the QB's, especially Falconi, but Reese caught my eye due to being the "underdog" QB. Even with 2 INT, he had a very good game. 3) Based on both your forum activity and discord activity, where and to what team do you think you will be drafted? To be honest, i have no idea. I still haven't checked the rosters to see the team needs, but i understand that my position makes it a little bit hard to be completely sure about teams that need a QB. Some GMs got in touch, we spoke a little bit about my and their ambitions, and something will come up. They want mainly active players, i want mainly an active team, so let's see what happens. 4) After watching all these amazing quarter backs play which of them would you like to emulate, or play similar to? Looking only at numbers, I have to say Joliet Christ, as I would like to be able to throw and still get some running yards. (S16) - Ultimus Week - RaiderNation - 08-04-2019 Task 1: PBE Affliate Week ending 8/11 Task 2: Sit-down with a Star Interview with Portland Pythons CB Mervin Leonard 1. The DSFL Ultimi Championship has been set. You and the Portland Pythons will be squaring up with the Tijuana Luchadores for the third time this season. Both teams split their season matchups, what do you feel is the key on offense and defense for either team to come out as victors? "Both games between us and the Luchadores this season were a slugfest and came down to the wire with less than 7 points being the deciding factor in both. I expect much of the same in the Ultimini. In a game full of superstars in the passing game such as Franklin Thompson, Jordan Andrews and Hugo Mongo I actually expect this one to be decided by who can control the line of scrimmage and hold the opposing teams rushing attack in check. Neither QB put up very good numbers in the head to head matchups between these two this season but both teams managed to put up very impressive rushing stats and in the Pythons win against the Luchadores early in the year the deciding factor was the Python rush attack that put up 80 more yards than the Luchadores. Whoever puts up more yards on the ground is going to win this one" 2. The football camp you and fellow DSFL cornerback Jordan Andrews Co-Hosted in the beginning of the season had a great turnout. Any plans from the two of you in keeping it going next season? "I'm really glad you asked about that! Me and Jordan are both warriors on the field but we also both love giving back to the community off the field. Like you mentioned that camp we hosted was a huge success and we've actually been in discussions to expand the camp next year. I can't give to many details out yet but stay tuned for some really exciting news soon!" 3. Who is your favorite to win the NSFL Ultimus? "I think that Jordan and I can both agree on this one... This season's champion will 100% be the Portland Pythons!! All joking aside both teams played great all season and this game will really be a showcase of the best that the DSFL has to offer. I legitimately believe this one is going to be decided by less than 7 points and wouldn't be surprised to see someone make a big play in the final minutes that decides this one. I predict Pythons by 3." 4. Any off-season plans yet? "This is a big offseason for me. I'm coming off a big season for the Pythons and am really focused and looking forward to my future in the NSFL. You'll be able to find me in the gym and on the practice field all offseason getting better every day!" Task 3: Sit-down with a Fan Mervin Leonard Interview of Jordan Andrews Task 4: That Magic Moment That magic moment for me this year is no doubt that 3rd and 11 play in the fourth quarter that I picked off for 12 yards against the San Antonio Marshalls in the conference finals. That moment meant so much to me cause my last interception was in week 5. Guess if I would of known I was gonna go 10 weeks without an interception, I probably would of worked a little harder and came away with three that game instead of two. I remember that play versus the Marshalls vividly cause I recognize the play from the jump. They came out two wide in their territory, somewhere round the 30 and we was up big. I knew with the distance they had to go and being late in the game, they wouldn't throw it short of the first but rather at the marker and beyond. Having that in my head I was able to sag off and hug the grass where the first down marker is as I size up my opponent in anticipation to his next move. Not one time has my eye entered the backfield in search of the quarterback as I didn't want to give up that big play to the wide receiver to keep the drive going. With the roar of the crowd all around me, I see the wide receiver running towards me pull up his stance slightly enough for me to recognize he is running a curl route and just as quickly as I seen his flaw I broke on the route to where the ball is to arrive and in the process of sprinting to the receiver, my eyes floated to the quarterback as he released a pass that I track and stepped in front of just as it reached it's target for my third intercption of the year. First career playoff pick. (S16) - Ultimus Week - CalvinP - 08-05-2019 3 - I have so much respect for our fearless leader in the locker room and on the field cooter. He went from probably the laughing stock of the league for being a piece of garbage and a bad person to legitimately being an MVP candidate and the most dangerous person on any field during any game. He pulled out multiple comebacks throughout the season and He has some of the most efficient games in the season between any QB. He managed to get everyone involved on the offensive side of the ball and we never once felt like we were truly out of the game because we had him at the helm. Outside of some.... Questionable coaching (kicking a FG while down four) in the playoffs the Wraiths truly had a chance to win the whole thing. not Remember when we went into this season we were expecting to be championship contenders but here we are and The best part about all of it is Cooter hasn't even met his Peak yet. It's still going up is still crescendoing to a point where he will be potentially the most dangerous QB we've ever seen in this league. And when that day comes everyone will fear the Wraiths. --------- 206 words 5 - You know, there's a reason why the Wraiths have gone into the top tier of the best organizations of this league. It's because of the incredible season 15 drafting The entire class was full of talent. There's potentially future Hall of Famers at almost every position that came in this draft specifically. The Wraiths potentially drafted Three incredible season five 15 players on the defensive side that could leave their mark on the league for a long time with Logan, Nero, Kroustsis And leaf Jr. But the Wraiths aren't exclusive to Incredible Talent from this draft pool, The great thing about that draft is that everyone involved every single franchise got Potential star player. We already see the effect starting to kick in as the players begin to sniff their primes as some players are looking like defensive players and offensive players of the year. With weekly outstanding performances on their respective teams. I don't see how this draft glass doesn't go down in history as one of the best draft classes that has ever seen by this league. Especially when it's all said and done and they begin to retire. It seems like the future of this league is in great hands and this specific draft class has a lot to do with it and with respect to the previous draft classes I hope This class is given its due respect when it's all said and done. ----------------- 237 words 7- It's hard to forget where we were projected to end up at the end of the season compared to where we actually ended at the beginning of the Season. We were one of the supposedly middle-of-the-pack teams in the league. Instead All of our Superstars stepped up to the challenge and we became the most feared team in the league with the ability to knock out anyone who stepped in front of us. But I'm sure we all read the story of Icarus and I guess we flew too close to the Sun this season. Our wings melted when the playoffs started and for some reason we decided to kick a field goal when we were down by four. It's okay, things happen. We weren't supposed to be there. We weren't supposed to be that dangerous. We weren't supposed to be a threat for an ultimus. But we were there. And now this is the season that we were projecting all along that we will be the most dangerous. The upcoming seasons you will see the Wraiths dynasty begin and it'll be at the strongest they've ever been. Why is next season our season? Because last season shouldn't have been our season and it still was. This time that we're taking what's ours and we're not waiting for somebody to tell us when it's time to go. It's the Wraiths vs. everybody and we couldn't be happier. ------------------- 237 words 19 - So wait, you're telling me I get to talk about the defensive linemen???? And yes, I'm gonna give Nero his praise. I love him. He's my boy. He gets out to the quarterback like no other. He is a constant force to be reckoned with. You Can't run the ball past him. You can't sit in the pocket for too long or he will be hugging you until you fall on the ground. I Love You Nero But I think we all know why I'm here. In case you don't know I'm a Yellowknife wraith.... and we have the most entertaining Defensive lineman in all of the league... the most charismatic person in the entire league for good and for bad because there's a lot of both. My brother in arms Ryan Leaf Junior. My boy went from being a quarterback to being one of the most dangerous defensive lineman in two seasons. From being lost on how to improve himself to making sure he's on top of everybody around him and proving himself as well as others. Does he go about it the best way? Probably not more often. He may be annoying but it all comes from a good place. My boy Leaf, I believe, will be a future Hall of Famer. Go ahead and save that quote. He's already making noise after being a late-round blooming player. He's had a couple of incredibly effective games. He's had some games where he saved us single-handedly on defense. Leaf is going to be one of the keys to the Yellowknife Wraiths starting a dynasty run and will outgrow his meme status. He'll be a name rookies of every position will look to when things look tough and they're not really sure what direction to go. Leaf will be the example on how to never give up. Mark my words. ------------------ 310 words (S16) - Ultimus Week - Rising Equinox - 08-05-2019 Get ready for a negative post, because I have nothing positive to say about the playoffs or the sim this season at all. 1) Playoff Predictions, Reviews: This will be a little different from usual. I'll be doing sort of a combination of review and prediction. I'll start with my prediction for the Ultimus matchup between the Outlaws and Liberty, and I'll follow it up with my review of the games leading up to the Ultimus. I'll be straightforward with my prediction. I expect the Philadelphia Liberty to come out on top in this game. Liberty has the better all-around roster, and they have the better resume of wins throughout the season, specifically in the playoffs. Philadelphia is on a hot streak right now in the playoffs, and I don't think there's any team in the league that could beat them at the moment without home field advantage. The Outlaws have a really good defense, but their offense is surprisingly one of the worst and least efficient offenses in the entire league. They have to force Philadelphia into a tough fought defensive game, if they want to have a chance to win this game. Liberty has the better offense and just as good of a defense as the Outlaws to pair with it. Philadelphia Liberty is a dangerous team, and they have proven that with their huge victories on the road against Yellowknife and Chicago. The Outlaws have a win against a bad Sabercats team and the Orange County Otters, where the Outlaws just had blatant sim luck to get an outcome that had a 2/500 chance of actually happening. If you ask me, the Outlaws don't have a chance of winning this game, unless they suddenly get an actual offense before the Ultimus begins. 5) Spotlight on Youth (S15 edition) The season 15 NSFL draft was one that will not be forgotten for a long time. It was a gigantic draft class, that was not only big, but it was also loaded with talent. The player that I will be discussing from this draft class in LB - Lanzer Grievous. Lanzer was actually a send-down in what would've been his "true-rookie" season. He was expected by many to be a key component to the Otter's defense this season, but he definitely surprised a lot of people when, in his rookie season, he had the second most sacks in the entire league (14), and he also managed to get over 100 tackles, second most on the Otter's defense. Averaging more than one sack per game, Lanzer will have a huge role to play in the playoffs and possibly the Ultimus, if the Otters defeat the Arizona Outlaws. If Lanzer gets going on defense, he will very difficult for any team to stop. His play will be a huge factor in what could be a very defensive-sided battle with the Outlaws. It will be interesting the see the impact Lanzer has in the playoffs and to see the bright future that he has in the NSFL. Possibly the best defenses are still in the playoffs right now, so it will also be interesting the see how Lanzer compares to some of the best veteran defensive players in the league. 6) Our Time There are actually several reasons why the Otters should be considered the favorites to win the Ultimus this season. In my honest opinion, if you don't consider the Otters to be favorites to win the Ultimus at this point, you must know something that I don't know. The biggest obstacle in their way right now is whether or not they will have HFA in the Ultimus when/if they beat the Outlaws. The Otters have proven time and time again this season that they a force to be reckoned with, especially when given home field advantage. They were widely considered favorites at the beginning of the season, and they actually lived up to the hype. They have arguably the best offense in the league and one of the league's best defenses to back it up. This team is extremely dangerous, and you can't give them any opportunities for free on either side of the ball, or they will definitely take advantage of it. The Otters could easily be looked at as having the best overall roster in the NSFL. If the sim didn't rely so much on home field advantage and wasn't just terrible in general, it would be extremely difficult for any team to beat the team that the Orange County Otters have put together this season. The only problem with this is that the sim is terrible, and it will do anything and everything possible to ruin any kind of predictions you have made, especially games of actual importance like the playoffs. 14) That Magic Moment Okay, this is going to sound really pessimistic, and, to be completely honest, that's exactly what I'm going for with this post. The "magic moment" that I'd like to discuss is more than just a single moment; it's the entire Outlaws vs Otters game. It's more of a collection of moments that combine into one. To just see the extremely inefficiency of the Otters on both sides of the balls was possibly the most unrealistic thing I have ever seen during my team in the sim league. The fact that the Otters even ended the game with a field goal made everything even worse. It just showed that the sim just couldn't let the home team not score any points, even though it was forcing a win for the Outlaws. The magic moment of the playoffs for me was finally coming to the realization that the current setup of the league and the sim is actually terrible, and it will forever be like that, nothing will be done, and, for the most part, nothing can be done until they decide to switch to a new sim engine. The magic moment was finally deciding that I will not look at this like a realistic football simulation anymore, and I'm done putting extra effort into interacting with the community, because it's pointless, and it adds nothing to the simulation aspect of the league at all in the end. This "magic moment" definitely doesn't sound like a positive one, but it will be better for my player's future in the league as I will continue actively upgrading my player's stats, but I will be focusing more on the aspects of this being a simulation, not an actual football community, because there is absolutely zero connection between the two or any effort put into making the community aspect of the league actually important. With this view of league, I will be able to put all of my effort into making my player the best he can be for the sim, instead of wasting time. (S16) - Ultimus Week - PersonMann - 08-05-2019 PBE PT 8) Strategies Since I just got to the league very recently, my team has only one major thing to do for next season to guarantee that they will win some more games. That is, of course, to play me. I bring to any team that I am on an explosive energy that is unmatched by any other player in the league. Now, you may be thinking: well that is just not true, there are plenty of running backs in this league that are much better than you are and it is fairly narcissistic to not acknowledge them as providing ample value to their respective teams. And yes, that may be true but I am not mentioning them in this written piece because I do not know their names. I am going off of what I know about this league, and that is absolutely nothing. In my frame of reference there are like three players in this entire league that I know and one of them is me. What I know about myself is that I will be a very high earner in this league which provides value to any team that I am on. So if my team wants to win more games next year, all they have to do is play me. 14) That Magic Moment I will admit to it right now, I was not able to watch the playoffs due to the timing and the fact that I am not in the US right now. But I did watch part of the stream for my DSFL team and I was watching for one special moment in particular. I scored my first career touchdown! I believe that it was a three yard rush from the one and only Jake Utler that did the job for the San Antonio Marshals. In my first ever professional game I had 12 carries for 61 yards and a touchdown. Everyone here knows just how special it is to watch your player and it is especially special watching your player for the first time. Although the announcer claimed that I stole the TD from my teammate given that he had gotten us close to the endzone, it was still cool to hear my name be called. My touchdown ended up being the only one that my team would score in that game and in our LR they ended up giving me the game ball for that effort. Although I just joined the league, this was a great start to my career. Aside from getting the win, I could not have asked for a better start for my player. 15) Going to Disneyland! Well, I did not watch the game so I only know what I have heard and that would mean that the Ultimus MVP was Waldo. I believe that he caught something like 3TDs which is superb to say the least. I do not really know Waldo that well, other than the fact that he is also a Cubs fan, but I would have to guess that he would go all out on his trip to Disneyland. Even though he is a professional football player, he would probably stand in line for all the rides. And I am talking about ALL the rides. I do not even know if he would take his family with him to Disneyland since they might just slow him down on his quest to ride all the rides. The only thing that we know that he will bring for sure is his Ultimus MVP trophy. You already know that he is going to flaunt that sucker around all damn day. When he is at Disneyland, Waldo will run into some fans who will want his autograph. Knowing Waldo, he will tell them to get out of the way so he can cut them in line for the rollercoaster thingies or whatever it is that Disneyland has. (S16) - Ultimus Week - ValorX77 - 08-05-2019 5) Spotlight On Youth: The season 15 National Simulation Football League draft was a rather great one for the Orange County Otters, in the 5th round, they took backup running back Apollo Reed of the Norfolk Seawolves, Who would become arguably the biggest steal of the National Simulation Football League season 15 draft. He was called up in season 15, as a potential replacement for the aging Seer Zephyorious, Reed rushed for 640 yards and got 12 total touchdowns in his rookie year, unfortunately he lost out to Outlaws Receiver Brock Landers for the offensive rookie of the year award, but this season, Reed had a season to remember. With Seer officially gone, Reed became the workhorse for the otters run game. This time, he rushed for 935 yards, and rushed for 11 touchdowns, averaging 4.2 yards per carry, as he led the Otters to a 10-3 campaign, and their first regular season 1st place conference finish since season 14, The Otters will welcome the Arizona Outlaws to Santa Ana stadium, arguably one of the hardest places to play, in the ASFC conference championship game, with an Ultimus appearance on the line, will Reed propel the otters through The hard-nosed Arizona defense that was the league’s best, or will his support be irrelevant? 4) Head to Head Matchups: A new Young gun has emerged in the National Simulation Football League, look no further than Chicago Butchers running back Sam Torenson, who’s already making a big splash as the first overall pick in the season 16 draft, as he led the Butchers to a 10-2 campaign that shocked everyone in the league, as they were seen as heavy underdogs. Now we look at Torenson, the young stud, who ran the ball 343 times for 1,342 yards, averaging 4.3 yards per carry, and 9 touchdowns, he’s the guy you turn to for a young offensive machine gun. Despite the low amount of touchdowns and slightly below average yards per carry, Torenson’s legs and even hands will carry the Butchers to a potential Ultimus appearance, as their team is arguably the best season by an expansion team, as they are the only such team to make a playoff appearance. But there is one brick wall standing in the way of Torenson, Philadelphia’s Linebackers, with guys like D’Attorita, Hardshaft, and even Emoji to some extent, can hold down the running game and potentially could shutdown any momentum of Chicago’s high powered offense and potentially denying them a home Ultimus for the expansion team. 7.) Next Year: Next Year, The Wraiths will be back, but stronger than ever before, well besides the failure that was the Season 7 13-1 “Super Spooks”. It’s almost entirely the Same core of the season 16 Wraiths, the progression of guys like Giannis Kroustis, Logan Uchiha, Jaylen Storm, Ryan “Mr Alrighty” Leaf Jr, and two former Fabulous five members, Nero Alexander and Morgan Marshall, all of which had fantastic seasons, but nobody tries to overthrow the king of Yellowknife, Cooter Bigsby, Who led the pass attack for the Wraiths, his progression shall continue on for a very likely mvp caliber season, if there was one Wraith likely to get the league’s most valuable player award, it’s got to be Free Safety Danny Grithead, who tied the single season record for interceptions with 10, he’ll be the only notable Wraith entering regression, but has a nice TPE cushion. The rest of the offense was a very solid core, with guys like Jarrod Canton, Nate Swift, Josh Parker, Tommy Helanen, Brad Pennington who’s still in the league, but regression might strike him down soon. There are a few forgotten members on the team, like Johnny Snuggles, Cameron Taylor, and, Zach Skinner, Leading the Wraiths into the seventeenth season with a bang for a new era. 11.) Trades/Free Agents: June 19th, 2019, After waiting for weeks for a decision, Danny Grithead signed with the Yellowknife Wraiths, a decision that sent shockwaves throughout the league, through the help with the first ever Agency dedicated to Free agents, Sim League Management. Danny Grithead made a very wise choice to sign with the Wraiths, as he was a huge impact to the Yellowknife Wraiths defense, in his absolute prime, picking off Quarterbacks 10 times, including 4 in a single game against New Orleans Second Line Quarterback Stan Francisco, as he tied the single season record for interceptions, a record that stood for 15 seasons, and only now someone tied it. Grithead also knows how to stop Quarterbacks trying to create some momentum, stacking 12 sacks against 9 other league quarterbacks, which is arguably the best season by a Safety In his absolute prime. He left behind the legacy of the S12/S13 Orange County Otters, back to back Ultimus wins against the hawks sand yeti respectively, he was a key contributor to those juggernaut teams, the question here is, can he lead his team to their first Ultimus in 8 seasons and likely play his former team, and can he submit his legacy as one of the best pass rushers? Find out next season.. (S16) - Ultimus Week - C9Van - 08-05-2019 1) Playoff Predictions, Reviews: Written: Give a short write up of one or multiple playoff matches. If completed before the airing of the sims have predictions, after if it is a review of the game. So if I am being honest I have not really focused on the National Simulation Football League since my dude is fighting in the Development Simulation Football League right now and I will be making predictions based off the play-offs for that instead. I think the Marshalls will beat the Polar Bears to make it Tijuana Luchadores vs Marshalls but I do not really see an upset happening against us. We have a very good record against the 7-7 team and whilst the scoreline could be close I think the better quality of the Luchadores defence will be too much for them. On the other side god damn rip the Seawolves when they face the Coyotes team. However this means that the rivalry of Portland Pythons vs Kansas City Coyotes writes another chapter for them. I would have actually picked the Coyotes to win it after going on a really good winning streak but now they seem to have lost steam I think it would be stupid to not pick the Pythons who have a good regular season record. The final of Tijuana Luchadores vs Portland Pythons will be probably one of the closest fixtures in recent finals but I think the Luchadores will pull through and become champions for an impressive 6th time. [214 words] 2) Underdog Written: Write about one of the away teams in any matchup and explain why they can win. Must be completed before the sim. I thought about writing the Seawolves or Polar Bears finding a way to beat the human teams but that just will not happen 3 games in a row. So, as of writing we have the match-up of the Philly Liberty going up against the Chicago Butchers. The favourite for this match-up is the Chicago Butchers since they will be the home team and have the better record of the two teams. But I legitimately believe that the Philly Liberty will beat them. The reason I think that is Chicago have only just joined the league, experience in the league is limited for them and the fan base and this will be just the 2nd fixture in the play-off history for them. Whilst the opponents got to a final a few seasons back. They also beat the Yellowknife Wraiths in the first round with them being heavy favourites to beat the Philly Liberty and yet this still managed to beat them. It was a close game but I do not see a reason as to why lightning cannot strike twice for this. I do also believe the Outlaws can beat the Orange County Otters too but I would not say I am as confident that would happen since Orange County are a bloody good team. An Arizona Outlaws vs Philly Liberty final though would be a lot more hype too so I believe in the underdogs. [235 words] 6) Our Time Written: Why should your team be looked at the favorite to win the Ultimus or Ultimini this season. I think this is an obvious one but I will be writing about how Tijuana Luchadores are the best team and favourites to win and should win the Development Simulation Football League play-offs. First off our overall record is the best, so that says a lot. But if you look at our stats in certain positions you have to be impressed. We do not have a maxed out Quarter-Back and yet we are doing good passing yards with the help of well hung player Laszlo Forty-Two and other great catching options. We mainly run the all and have the best running back in the minors league who no-one seems to be able to stop just at the moment. This is just for the attacking side. Where Luchadores really shine is in the defensive side of the team. We have the most sacks of any team and it really is not close whatsoever and more sacks mean less yards. That is not even touching all the tackles, interceptions and just overall work this side of the team put up. I do not doubt that the Pythons have special players as well but the quantity of our quality is a lot more than any other team and that is why we are favourites to win it all. [215 words] 7) Next year Written: If your team has been eliminated, why will the next year, or the year after that, be the year that your team is going to win the Ultimus or Ultimini. Next year my player Laszlo Forty-Two will be taking his first step into the National Simulation Football League to finally play at the highest level. This means he will be playing for the team that drafted him, the Colorado Yeti. This team has not played well this season, however, the quarter-back Wolfie McDummy will have more Total Points Earned and be a lot better and with Laszlo Forty-Two also there who is also a max earner they will have more than one passing option for next season. This means more yards. More yards mean more points. They can also use the 2nd pick overall as either trade bait to get someone really good or pick up someone who will improve this team. Now it may be slightly delusional to think that the just next year they will be able to win it all but I counter by saying the possibility does exist. Improbable, not impossible. We have 2 teams currently in play-offs with a 7-6 reord. That is not exactly the hardest record to achieve and then who is to say we do not do what the Philly Liberty or Arizona Outlaws do. They could make the final or even win it and that means the Yeti could also pull off a cinderella story. [214 words] |
