Marcella Toriki has never liked Christmas. It's just not her thing. But that doesn't mean that she doesn't take the opportunity to spend time with the important people in her life. This Christmas, Marcella Toriki is getting the whole gang together for a holiday party for the ages. She's calling in the big guns and flying her father and youngest brother in from New Zealand to celebrate. Her brothers living stateside will be making the trip down to New Orleans as well. Finally, the Toriki clan spend some real time with the family Marcella has made on the gridiron this season! With tales of the season mixed with tales from Marcella's childhood, the evening is sure to be an adventure for all in attendance.

Marcella may not be much of a cook herself, but with a foodie like Bubba Thumper making a guest appearance, you know that the catering has to be absolutely top notch. From the full Christmas dinner to the trays of holiday cookies, everyone is walking away from this event in high spirits and with a full stomach.

After the large gathering, Marcella has plans for a smaller party too, with just her father and brothers. While busy schedules, timezones, and many miles keep this family apart on the day to day, holidays give time for the group to sit together and enjoy one another's company. Marcella has placed NOLA season tickets in each stocking, and a variety of other gifts sit beneath her tree. After all, she's got to spend that contract money somehow. Who needs to buy equipment when you can see joy on another person's face as they open a gift hand-selected for them?

Unfortunately, this holiday season is going to be spent with the in-laws again. It’s not even a single day or even two days. No, it is almost an entire week of time with the family. As you can imagine, growing up with a famous but absent father made every holiday uneventful. Even at a young age, I was barely able to differentiate Christmas from any other day of the year. Once I went away to college, the holidays were just an excuse to not have class. I never went home on break and typically used the holiday as a quiet day to myself. All that changed when I met Misses Logan Noble Jr. Now I am forced to spend time with her family many times throughout the year. It is quite the change from what I am used to. At first it was nice to be around people and be included in the festivities but as the years wore on, the gathering became longer and more frequent. Now Christmas is almost a week long of family get togethers. This is a nightmare. Let this be a little lesson to all you young rookies out there. Don’t ever get married and if you do, marry an orphan.

Bjørn Ironside has a rather peculiar Christmas tradition. As many know, when Bjørn was a child, he slipped out of view of his parents and got lost in the abyss of a large forest near his home. He spent weeks in the company of a group of grizzly bears who became not only his best friends, but virtually his brothers. Since then every Christmas he has spent absorbent amounts of money on hams for his bear brothers. He packs them all up on a sled and heads out into the forest to find their den. Once there he chops down the most beautiful Aspen Spruce that he can possibly find and sets up his own little Christmas tree in the den. He then sits down with his brothers with ham and beer and spends the next few days feasting with the family he found as a child. Then once finished, he emerges and heads back to the stadium so he can work off all that ham and prepare for his next set of games. Upon arriving at the stadium, he always brings presents for each and every one of his teammates and leaves it in their locker. He never leaves a note or says who they're from, but they are always there and waiting every single year.

Well as you may or may not know, Christmas is quite a big thing for the Virtanen household. It was something that Maurice’s father had to understand pretty quickly when he got married to his wife, but the Finnish people are very strict and clear on how Christmas is spent. In addition to this we all know the real Santa Claus does not live anywhere near the North Pole, because like seriously who would live there? Instead the fat bastard lives in Rovaniemi where tourists are able to see him every day of the year (apart from Christmas Eve). Oh and that is another important thing, Christmas and its biggest celebrations are had on Christmas Eve and not on Christmas Day. The day starts with some rice porridge, followed by visiting any graves of relatives. After that everyone in Finland listens in as the peace declaration of Christmas time is announced. This means that all the bickering and fighting that might be going on in any household must cease at once and can only be started up again after Christmas (so somewhere around the 27th of December). The next point of business is to go to Christmas Mass and repent for any sins. After this has been done we all sit down as a family (and any relatives that visiting) for Christmas dinner and have all of our traditional dishes that I could go on and on about. After this we realize Santa has visited our house while we were eating and we open up all the presents that we received. Finally we all go to our own homes or beds and start waiting for the next Christmas

Winkler doesn't particularly like Christmas of its own accord. He's always been more of a Thanksgiving guy, and he resents the constant push earlier in the year that Christmas always makes. Like, let him enjoy his annual remembrance of brutal genocide in peace, please. You can't truly enjoy pecan pie without at least a little bit of deep-seeded ancestral guilt in there somewhere, and Jingle Bells just ruins that completely. I suppose "Last Christmas" fits that bill somewhat. The Native Americans "gave us their heart", and the very next day (or however many years later) we "gave it away" by slaughtering them mercilessly and driving them from their homes of countless generations. This year, to save them from (Trail of) Tears, they'll give it to someone special. Anyway, Winkler always tries to push back against the rising Christmastide by celebrating Thanksgiving until AT LEAST the end of November, which also happens to be his birthday. Recently, he's been hosting birthday parties with a Thanksgiving theme in order to raise awareness. Partygoers' impressions of the informational fliers he hands out as party favors seem mixed, but the Turkey pot pie in place of birthday cake is always a big hit. Okay, not always a big hit. In fact, some people are borderline mutinous when he reveals it, but what are they gonna do? NOT eat birthday pot pie? Yeah, that's what he thought. Happy Thanksgiving, motherfuckers.

Ahoy from Myrtle Beach!

If we pirates excel at anythin', 'tis havin' a good time.

If we feel like decoratin', we 'ave no trouble gettin' supplies. We often go t' shore t' find water, gather fruit, hunt wild animals (a traditional roasted boar's head be a staple durin' th' holidays), 'n swab our ships. Thar be always pine 'n tropical blossoms fer Christmas decor.

O' course, we pirates love entertainin' ourselves wit' chanty. Me fav'rits include God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Th' First Noel, 'n Th' Holly 'n th' Ivy. They always remind me o' home.

As pirates, we be mighty diverse. Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Muslims, 'n Pagans all 'ave thar traditions. We welcome any idea fer celebration. Our liquor, mead, grub, 'n spices are second t' none, 'n our night always ends wit' plenty o' traditional scallywag dances.

Lucky fer us, New Year's be only one week away. We usually go ashore t' celebrate. One time we took over an entire English colony, 'n partied so successfully that more than half o' th' male population o' th' town left wit' us when we sailed away.

Merry Christmas t' all, 'n t' all a hearty Yo Ho Ho Ho!

Rusty just got claimed off waivers and he's very grateful for the opportunity. He may not be the most well known player but when he goes home to his family, none of that matters. Rusty will fly out from Mexico back to northern Wisconsin to celebrate the holidays. He's picked up plenty of souvineers for the family- a keychain for the little bro who just got a car, a Mexican wrestling mask for his dad, and, of course, authentic Mexican necklaces for his mother and girlfriend. Rusty has been looking forward to heading home all month, to go from the Mexican heat back to the crisp Sconnie cold. He has bought tickets to a Bucks basketball game as a surprise for the family, and is extremely excited to see the look on his brother's face when he finds out he gets to go to his first NBA game. Overall, Rusty is excited for an incredible Christmas and to see his family for the first time since heading out to Mexico to play football.

What does Barker do over the holidays? Well while not really a religious person, Barker enjoys the Christmas spirit and tries to enjoy it to the best of his ability with his friends. He’ll depart from his home in Tijuana and head up to San Francisco where he’ll invite a bunch of people over to party and have a nice time.

Barker also enjoys watching a slew of Christmas movies, such as classics like Elf and The Year without a Santa Claus with his friends and family. After all, the holidays are really just a time to hang out and relax with family and friends. Barker also has some weird holiday customs. First of all, he drinks a cup of hot chocolate every day of December, and usually January, which in itself is not that weird, except that Barker specifically needs to have so many marshmallows in there it’s really more mallow than cocoa. He also insists on owning 7 trees and hanging Christmas sweaters on one tree, which leads to an interesting discussion when new people come over. His favorite time of the holiday season is New Year’s Eve, when he heads down to a club or a small party and loves to be part of the crowd as they count down to the new year. Happy Holidays everyone!
