Steals of NSFL Draft - youngcricket - 07-20-2017

[/div]
The S2 NSFL draft concluded last night and all teams were happy with the haul they were able to bring in, but I think that some teams found some great sleepers in the non-premier rounds of the draft. Here I will take a look at some guys I think were taken later than they should have been.

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Luke Luechly: Pick 40, Arizona Outlaws
[/div]

The only reason that Luke Luechly fell this far is that he didn't put up an update page before the draft. He is a player who is familiar with the sim engine and understands how to build a player. He has also been very sneaky active. Prior to the draft, 2nd round pick Kevin Cushing only had 4 more hours in the gym than him, but Luechly was taken in the 6th round. Cushing also has TPE from S2 gear, which Luechly has yet to acquire. So in total, he could end up being the LB with the most TPE and he has great knowledge of the sim, so he knows how to use his hours effectively. I think that he will turn into a lynchpin of the Outlaws' defense and develop into a top notch prospect.

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Damien Kroetch: Pick 51, Philadelphia Liberty
[/div]
Kroetch is one of my favorite players because he plays a skill position and is dedicated to improving. Though some say they have seen him slack before, I firmly believe that he will develop into a very solid wideout for the new Liberty offense. He has a GM with good knowledge of how to build and he will have the opportunity to slide in and start from day one. I think that based on his current dedication, it was a steal to get him in the 7th round. If he progresses as I expect him to, Kroetch will be a top flight wide receiver and a player to have in tandem with Fox North.

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Darren Smallwood: Pick 53, Yellowknife Wraiths
[/div]
A major reason that Smallwood went to late is that the wide receiver position was pretty deep. The Wraiths, in my opinion, got a steal who will develop into a superb talent regardless of which position he plays. He has come on late as a vocal prospect and I think that with time he will outplay his position. It may be hard for him to get touches at the beginning, especially with Josh Garden on the team. But as the season progresses, I fully expect him to develop into a top flight second wide receiver for the Wraiths. He could help put their offense over the edge.

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Thaddeus Bullard: Pick 66, Las Vegas Legion
[/div]
I think this was a good pick for this team, but not necessarily for everybody. Bullard has a reputation of being a loud and slightly immature guy. I don't think that would have fit in very many locker rooms besides this one. There are quite a few charismatic players on the Legion and Bullard should fit into that very well. As a player, Bullard is always around, training here and there, but if he is able to channel himself, he will turn into a very formidable DE opposite of Tyler Varga. This is a steal if, and only if, Bullard decides to mature a slight bit and start trying during is training sessions instead of just being loud.

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Torque Lewith: Pick 87, Colorado Yeti
[/div]

Lewith was originally a QB and said that he was exclusive to that position, which is the only reason that he was able to fall this far in the draft. Lewith told most teams that he refused to change positions, but suddenly made the change today for whatever reason. He is a player who puts in a decent amount of training hours and appears to demand excellence of himself in all of his endeavors. Considering that he went in the 11th round, it is incredibly difficult to consider a player of his caliber to not be a steal in the draft.
