(S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - siddhus - 07-26-2021 (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History Complete the weekly Point Task to earn 3 TPE! All written responses must be at least 200 words. New for this season, PT's may be submitted in another language, as long as you mention what language you are translating into, to make the job of the grader easier. Do not claim this TPE until it has been graded and posted to the S29 claim thread. This task is due next Sunday, August 1st 2021, at 11:59 ET. Have fun and get writing! Written option: Life is made up of choices. What choice did your player make that led them to the ISFL? What would their life be like if they never pursued a career in football? What would they be doing for a living? Graphic option: Create a small graphic showing your player doing something other than football for a career. Affiliate claims from SHL and PBE are accepted; link directly to your post and add a note if your username is different there. Make sure the week of the affliate PT matches with the week of this point task. Written and graphic responses must be posted solely in this thread and not for additional media credit. Also, if you try to build your word count by being super repetitive and rambling on, you will not get full credit. If you are caught plagiarizing/stealing someone else’s work, you will be punished as HO sees fit, including the potential loss of TPE or money. Do your own work please. If you have ideas for future PTs, visit the link below, and your idea may be used next week!! https://forums.sim-football.com/showthread.php?tid=9205 - Submit Prompt Ideas here! https://forums.sim-football.com/showthread.php?tid=33188 - PT Passes list here! RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - zaynzk - 07-26-2021 Bob Robert’s was always meant to play football at the highest level; it had been pretty clear that he had no other skills that could have helped him excel in school. How ever outside of football he had one clear vision; he wanted to make pizza for all the kids who grew up in Newport News Virginia like himself. He worked at a local pizza shop and would have likely continued that if he had not been offered a position on a football team. At this point he would have worked his way up to a management position and hopefully would have been looking for larger opportunities to one day run his own shop. While he still plans on playing for years to come; it is no secret Robert’s has been secretly preparing for his next step and plans on opening a pizza restaurant in New York. It would have been interesting to see how life would have worked out had Robert’s failed to make a splash as a pro football player. But life is funny like that RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - FootballIsCool - 07-26-2021 My player Stumpy Jones has lived a long life. Seeing the passing of time as most trees do, Stumpy decision to go to evergreen college was the first in a series of decisions that stumpy had made to lead him down the path of joining the international simulation football league. Upon choosing evergreen university. Stumpy's choice of forestry as his focus for his studies was major. for his path to joining the international simulation football league walking into his forestry 101 class and meeting his teacher and future coach Robert Bob. Robert Bob was the coach for evergreen university and upon seeing the girth of stumpy, Robert knew that stumpy Jones was destined to rule the offensive line. Once stumpy decided to join the football team only because there were many strong signals pointing him in that direction.one of them was a literal neon orange and powder blue sign outside of his dorm promoting the international simulation football league. If stumpy Jones were to not be part of the international simulation football league, stumpy would likely be a parks ranger, it is unknown which park stumpy would have been assigned to but it would be most likely that stumpy be among his fellow trees just hanging out and making strong roots in the community. RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - OrbitingDeath - 07-26-2021 I wonder if I can find pictures of my guy doing anything but football.... ![]() RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - bjkman - 07-26-2021 The only reason I made it to the ISFL is that I got famous on YouTube, my American football kicking tutorials blew up all over New Zealand, then Australia, then the rest of the world. The Tijuana Luchadores GM took a chance on me right out of the University of Auckland and the rest is history! I would be in a very different place today if I hadn't started that YouTube channel. I spent my entire career at university studying to become a teacher and playing on the football (soccer for you Americans) team and I was pretty successful at both. I graduated with a degree in teaching so I'd hopefully be teaching young New Zealand students to hopefully create a better tomorrow, on the other hand, I was receiving emails and messages from some of the big league guys over at the New Zealand Football Association looking at me to go professional over there. After all, my first love was football so it would have been a childhood dream come true to become a professional football player for one of the many professional teams, or even on the world stage as a member of the national team. If history was different I still know I'd be doing something I love which is absolutely amazing. Code: 215 words RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - Oles - 07-26-2021 The Oles family is a major part of the history of the ISFL, every member of the family has won a title and all have brought home awards in their times. Football was a no brainer for Kaz JR, but if he wasn’t in the ISFL he would be pursuing a career in baseball. Sports are a major part of the family, and as kids every member of the family would play baseball as well as football. The family was a sports family through and through, and until Tyler Oles SR found is way into the ISFL by chance, the family was more focused on normal careers. The ISFL legacy that the Oles family has means that any kid born to the family has a clear path, with their athletic prowess it’s only a matter of desire and willingness to put the work in. The Oles family would most likely be a family of businessmen and women at this point had they never found their way to the ISFL, with accounting and business management as the calling for the family. They still do plenty of that with running their own brand and foundations, but they would be much more focused on it had the ISFL life not taken over the family. (211 words) RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - Tesla - 07-26-2021 Agent Tesla: So do you remember that movie where the angel shows the guy what life would like if he didn't exist or whatever? Magnus Rikiya: You mean It's A Wonderful- Agent Tesla: Ah! We cannot say the name because otherwise we could get into legal troubles even though the entirety of the plot has become a trope similar to The Island of Dr. Moreau. Now you know what I am talking about though? Magnus Rikiya: Yes I know the movie in question. What about it? Agent Tesla: Pursuant to the league requested training for week two of the thirtieth season I am going to show you a world where the choices made that led you to the ISFL are not made. Magnus Rikiya: Why do I have an ominous feeling in the pit of my stomach about this whole endeavor? Agent Tesla: Because you have grown all too accustomed to my particular brand of chaos. Now scene change! Insert Spongebob-esque cue card that says 'if Magnus had never joined the ISFL' Magnus Rikiya: This is a vast empty void. Are you telling me that without me the ISFL does not exist? Agent Tesla: Yes and no! Try to think a little deeper on the subject. Magnus Rikiya: Can I read the actual text of the training in question? Agent Tesla: Of course you can Magnus! Magnus Rikiya: The choice that I made was made for me as it came about from you giving me my life back after the accident. Although going back even more I exist only because you made me exist. Thus the choice that led me to the ISFL is the very choice that created me, and without that choice the vast multiverse that my creator calls home would have never crossed paths with the ISFL. Thus my branch of that multiverse exists only because I exist. Why are you making me think about these things at one in the morning? Agent Tesla: Because I am a delightful trickster god? Magnus Rikiya: So theoretically you may have created me anyway for one of your other roleplay endeavors. What would you say my profession would be in that instance? Agent Tesla: Gym teacher. Your innate focus is on strength, but your understanding of the world around you shows a philosophy that is not just focused on muscle. Plus I would love to have a Coach Rikiya character you know? Magnus Rikiya: Is that good enough to cover the training task? Agent Tesla: And then some I do believe! Thank you for helping out as always and enjoy returning to nonexistence until I need you again. Magnus Rikiya: Yay. Odd, but interesting. I mean what else is a 6’3”, 300 pound man do for a living if he’s not clogging the lanes between the lines on the football field? Scary to consider Honky Tonk outside the confines of the weight room and just walking around amongst the people! But despite the notion that the world would be Honky Tonk Haywood’s oyster, I think it’s pretty clear that our loveable oaf would be nowhere else but down on Broadway street, making a name for himself in other ways in downtown Nashville. Be it as a bouncer or with his beloved guitar slung around his shoulder, the larger than life Haywood would probably be a headline attraction downtown despite competing with numerous other “characters” and talented individuals trying to make it big. Perhaps one day, the mental image of Haywood strumming on stage in downtown Nashville will be more of a reality than a fun thought. Upon his retirement – although he purportedly loves Philadelphia – it’s not hard to image Haywood packing his bags and his Liberty Helmet and heading back west to his beloved Tennessee. But until that day, the defensive breakout player of the year will continue to build his legacy on the filed.
