Trey Willie follow the mentality of No Days Off. While other players are relaxing, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying some free time, he continues to train and improve. After a devastating season conclusion, he is motivated and ready to represent the NSFC again in the Ultimus. With Baltimore adding key pieces to both sides of the ball, their offense is looking stout for this upcoming season. During this long off-season, Willie has been working with QB Avon Blocksdale to get their timing down this season. While their first season together had some measure of success, there is always room for improvement. Willie has also been working with new Hawks’ Alexandre LeClair and John Wachter to get them up to speed with the offensive playbook. Baltimore was ranked 5th in points scored last season. With the new wide receivers, the Hawks are expecting to light up the scoreboard this season. In a brief interview, Willie was quoted as saying he is expecting Avon Blocksdale to be a top 3 QB this season. With the projected success of Blocksdale, it’s safe to assume that LeClair, willie, and Wachter will be reaping the benefits. So, while all other players are sitting at home or vacationing with family and friends, Trey Willie is busy focusing on this next season which should begin tonight.

While everyone else in the NSFL heads home for the holiday break before the pre-season, Kurt Hendrix has stayed behind in Baltimore and continued his hard work on improving his skills and the team. Film sessions, weight lifting sessions, doing both at the same time, you name it and Kurt has done it. With the impending retirement of defensive end rival Bjornsson and the disappearance of defensive end Jayce Tuck, the best DE in league history argument has become even more in the favor of Hendrix. If he keeps putting up season like the last, one in which he had the most sacks of any DE, his road to immortality is inevitable. Just have to keep putting in the work. While other players were sitting on their couches eating pie, Kurt was on his tenth set of squats. While others were jamming ham down their throats, Kurt was lifting 300 pounds for bench press reps. For Christmas gifts Kurt took the easy way out and just sent cards with money to all his family and friends. No time to waste looking for stupid gifts, everyone could use money. Kurt will never stop trying to improve until he's dead on the field, and even then it wouldn't be smart to count him out. (212)

Marc Spector has no religious background and is a stern disbeliever in any single deity. His studies abroad lead him to believe that if there is any deity, it is one that wishes to remain anonymous from humanity. Therefor, Christmas, Hannukah and the rest of the religious practices that take place during this season hold very little moral value to him. He does however participate in the spirit of togetherness and gift giving because his lovely girlfriend, Marlene Alraune was raised Episcopalian and still adheres to her beliefs. The two had a nice ham dinner on Christmas Eve and exchanged presents at midnight. Marc gave Marlene a top designer trench coat, one that she's wanted for some time. Marlene got Marc a relic from early America, a compass that was said to belong to Amerigo Vespucci. Marc, being a specialist in fine antiquities dated the artifact to be era correct, but the assertion it belonged to the famed mapmaker and navigator would be harder to determine. After sleeping in, the couple went to the airport where Marc took his private jet and they took off to Madagascar so that they could study the Austronesian and Bantu remains. All in all, a fine Christmas.

As a result of growing up in a multi-cultural family, Antoine Delacour has multiple celebrations taking place over the holiday period. On Christmas Eve, he, his wife, and daughter all travelled back to Lafayette to spend Christmas with his staunchly Christian grandmother Lucille; a tradition he has observed every year of his life. After attending the evening service at the local church, the family settled in at home with drinks and music.

Christmas Day was a lively affair with the entire Delacour clan converging on Lucille's house for dinner. Antoine was, again, on vegetable duty, peeling potatoes and carrots ahead of the feast.

Returning home on December 26th, Antoine lit the first candle on the family Kinara to celebrate Kwanzaa. With some friends in attendance and a large part of Jasmin's family, games were played to celebrate Umoja, or unity, the first of the seven principles. "As much as I love Kwanzaa, I'm really looking forward to karamu, if I'm perfectly honest," admits Antoine, referring to the celebratory feast that takes place on the final day of Kwanzaa. "But I think it's important that we keep Nguzo Saba too, of course. It's important for my daughter to have that connection with her heritage and culture."
