Deadline Saturday, January 6th, 11:59 PM PST (S5) - PT 3 - Surprises - ItsJustBarry - 01-01-2018 The biggest surprise of the coming season will be just how bad Arbin Asipi Jr performs. Everyone already has low expectations for him but he is going to blow everyone away when he doesn’t even meet the minimum requirement to be called a football player. I won’t be surprised if he finishes as the 7th best quarterback in the DSFL. Yeah, I said 7th. Not only is every other starting quarterback, including bot QBs, going to surpass him, but there will be at least 1 QB come off the bench and outperform him as well. This is just how bad he is going to be. Why would I predict such an ridiculous scenario? I am confident that Arbin Asipi Jr. will continue to have the same poor work ethic that his father, Arbin Asipi, displayed during his tenure in the NSFL. His lack of commitment and common distractions from other outside sources are the perfect recipe for a mediocre season. If I were the GM of the Tijuana Luchadores, I would be on the phone with the Blues bot GM in an attempt to trade for QB Sex Cannon. With Asipi Jr. under center, nobody should be surprised when the Luchadores end up going 0-14. 205 words (S5) - PT 3 - Surprises - Leafer - 01-01-2018 There will be a lot of surprises in this season to come and there will be more than one though becuase you know, opinions. But its not predictable. So the surprise from my perspective is none other than the Tijuana Luchadores. They successfully improved their defense as the draft picking Brian Mills, Elvin Enchant, and Bogdan Wojcik who were pretty good. Their defense was great and preseason had it showing. Shuting out the coyotes, 6 against the Blues, 3 against the Marshals and 7 against Norfolk. That is very great defense which was the best in the league. But how about their offense. Getting Legion and picking of waivers the son of the biggest bust in the NSFL Arbin Asipi Jr. who should be a pretty good QB but not better than Portlands. They have a QB who knows what he is doing and they got a passer who knows what he is doing. Both are active and have experiences in this league. Tijuana is pretty set to have a great season in the 5th season and better than last season. They have pretty good offense but steller good defense which is the advantage for the Ultimini Cup this year. This is my placeholder btw. (S5) - PT 3 - Surprises - PaytonM34 - 01-01-2018 I know not many users will follow the DSFL after they've entered the NSFL, other than GM's or committed alumni of the teams, but I think that the Tijuana Luchadores defense will surprise the league. The Luchadores in the draft, aside from picking the GM's own player, picked defensive players with their top three picks. Brian Mills, Elvin Enchant, and Bogdan Wojcik are the rookies joining the defensive squad in Tijuana, all three of which are looking to create an aggressive mentality on the defensive side of the ball. Although Mills and Wojcik were not active on Luchadores roster in the preseason, the defense still managed to hold the Coyotes to 0 points, the Marshals to 3 points, and the Seawolves to 7 points. Add two more active rookies to that roster, and I think that the Luchadores defense will be something to talk about. Not to mention that all three of those rookies are active in point tasks, and staying on top of activity checks and weekly training. This may be a completely biased opinion, being one of the three players I have mentioned, but I think that the Tijuana Luchadores will have a great shot at the DSFL S3 Ultimini this season. 204 words (S5) - PT 3 - Surprises - Goretron - 01-01-2018 Borro Gore is set to open some eyes this season. A late addition to the league, Gore missed the draft deadline due to an uncertain situation at the University of Miami. After being found academically ineligible, Gore submitted himself to enter the DSFL as a free agent. Although he's yet to be claimed, Gore features a solid combination of strength and speed, and should be able to step in as a contributor from day 1. Although he's a relative unknown at this point, success at the position is in his blood. Borro is cousins with NFL star Frank Gore, but he's looking to step out of the shadows and make a name for himself in an entirely different football league. Frank has been helping Borro train this offseason, but he's staying away from comparisons. "Borro is a good kid, and he's going to surprise some folks with how ready he is to play," Frank said. Look out for Gore this season, he'll be wrapping up contract negotiations in the coming days and should be a boon for whichever team signs him. He's shown a tremendous work ethic so far, and has been in contact with multiple teams. Don't be surprised when you see Borro making headlines this season, no matter where he winds up. (S5) - PT 3 - Surprises - Egan Winter - 01-01-2018 Placeholder (S5) - PT 3 - Surprises - DeathOnReddit - 01-01-2018 Budda Browning will surprise the league, and its users. Many are calling the Garden/Browning trade a steal for the Liberty while I disagree. I think browning will be a top 5 WR in the league and it will be a steal instead for us. In the preseason he was a beast, scoring on offense and special teams. If teams dont start showing respect to Browning he will make you pay. He is also a great LR guy, and my baby (<3) so we got that going. The guy is cool, and once I overthrow @AdamS he will be my pick for co-gm. Unless of course he chooses the jedi, in which case I would have to kill him which would be sad and something I do not want to do. This guy will be a huge surprise to others who have not been paying attention to him, and itll show. If we're able to make the playoffs again, it will be because of this beast WR. If you dont believe me, all you need to do is keep watching the sims. He's gonna be top 5 in yards, TDs, and reception. He will probably be top 10 in targets. Write about a team or player that will surprise everyone whether it's a good surprise or a bad surprise. So I`m just going to be a cheeky and talk about Turkleton and what I expect out of his this season. Turk has been very up and down and now that I've maxed out a good core of his main abilities, I hope to see him be able to post a great season. With 90%+ in both Extra Points scored and in Field Goals. However if the preseason will be any indication of how the regular season will pan out it seems Turkleton is on a bad path. With 6/8 kickers going 100% in XP's, Turk was able to miss one already. It comes down to me feeling that I wont be suprised to see myself do very well, but on the flip side I wouldn't be that suprised to see myself doing absolute horrible as is tradition at this point it seems like. What is probably going to be more suprising this season is how great rookie Dean Jackson is going to do this season. I think he`ll easily be a top 3 kicker this season. Probably outclassing Turkleton heavily. Ofcourse the sim is random as fuck and anything can happen, so its exciting to see how the sim is going to treat Turk this season. (S5) - PT 3 - Surprises - HENDRIX - 01-02-2018 It might come as a surprise to many outside of the Baltimore Hawks organization, but their young QB Avon Blocksdale is going to be in the league MVP conversation this season. This offseason he has hit the gym hard and lost a few pounds, improving his speed and agility. He also worked extensively with an MLB pitching coach to improve his throwing power. Last season he had a little bit of trouble driving the ball down field, that will not be an issue this season. The Hawks front office also went out and greatly improved their pass catching talent. Alexandre LeClair was acquired in a trade from the Legion and John Wachter was drafted in the 1st round. Those two will join current weapons Trey Willie and Owen Taylor to form one of the deepest and most talented set of weapons in the NSFL. Rumor has it the offensive line has improved across the board as well. The Baltimore offensive line coach got the front five to improve their strength, athleticism, and blocking techniques. Everything is in place for Avon Blocksdale to lead the Baltimore offense to greatness, we will see if this is the year it all comes together. (200) |
