(S5) - Weekend PT #4 - Advertising - Bwestfield - 01-19-2018

An advertising firm recently requested Brad Westfield be on their cereal box. He would be on the box of lucky charms for a limited time. He initially said no but thought that the extra income would help out his family so he changed his mind. A little extra cash could go a long way getting the bills paid off. He took hundreds of photos in a day that was worse than any training day. It took forever, he felt so out of place and felt he was doing everything wrong. He had to pose thousands of different ways with footballs, without footballs, with his jersey on, with it off. The shutter of the camera started to get on his nerves after awhile but he kept going. All in all I dont believe he will be doing it again. Once he retires he might get into broadcasting or maybe coaching. It will definitely not be doing commercials or being paid for advertisements.

One of the local restaurants in Portland has asked me, Glenn McPoyal, to do some advertising for them. The restaurants name is Portland's porterhouse. They approached me with a couple different advertising ideas. I knew I'd say yes because I love eat there (only on the off-season of course). One of the ideas was to get me to pose on for some pictures so they could make a billboard out of it. Of course I said yes, who wouldn't want their picture posted everywhere in their city? Another thing we did was make a commercial. It wasn't the best but any means but it was fun. Me and the owner of Portland's porterhouse were together on screen and told fans of the Portland Pythons or just people that loved to eat there that if the Portland Pythons win a game then there was going to be a special promotion at the restaurant. I didn't get paid very much for doing it, but it was worth it to get free meals there for life.

Lavelle was recently approached by Dairygold products and asked to film a possible advertisement with them, for a fee of course.

Lavelle obliged without knowing exactly what the advertisement entailed but regardless shooting went ahead as planned.

The entire duration of the ad consisted of rival butter products from brands such as Kerrygold being cracked open by Lavelle in multiple football scenarios.

Whether it's kicking tubs of butter from 40-50 yards through the uprights like a young Archibald Booter once did.

Or catching a touchdown pass from Mat Akselsen to Lavelle and gronk spiking the tub of butter into the touchdown endzone only for it to explode.

The final shot just featured Lavelle chucking footballs at various targets, similar to the pro bowl week QB skills challenge, just with kerrygold products infront of them. Lavelle known for his ability to play QB as shown in the Jbear Memorial Game some time ago, as well as WR and of course his primary position at CB, passed through the targets with ease.

A local company, Portlands Porterhouse, approached me and said "You know what DA, you're so much sexier than Glenn McPoyal that we are going to scrap every advertisement we have with him and replace them with you." Naturally I said yes, they had me posing in pictures and all doing a commercial. They even had a special for us, unlike the lame and unoriginal free meal per win idea that they were going to do with glenn, they decided to give a free meal out to everyone in the restaurant whenever Arbin Asipi Jr threw a pick. I think they regretted doing it after they realized how many free meals they were going to give out though. Anyways we ended up doing a competition where every hour a random customer would get an autographed Dwayne Aaron jersey, boy that was fun. I think that coach was mad at me though because I completely forgot we had practice that day...

The iconic Portland donut shop, Voodoo Doughnut, has announced an ad campaign featuring Borro Gore. Voodoo donut is known for their quirky appearance and wild flavors, has found a natural poster child for their donuts. Gore has been a frequent visitor of Voodoo doughnut since he's arrived in Portland, and has been seen picking up multiple bacon maple bars on an almost daily basis.

Gore will appear in a series of commercials for Voodoo Doughnut, as well as have a signature donut named after Gore added to the menu. The donut will be an ode to Gore's Miami roots, and will be a type of Cubano sandwich and donut hybrid. Gore's signature donut will feature roasted pork, pickles, swiss cheese, and a glazed donut bun. The reaction to the announced donut seems to be split, some speculate it will, "taste like hot garbage", while a large contingent of fans on Twitter seem to be excited to try the savory-sweet hybrid.

This deal is Gore's first official sponsorship since joining the DSFL earlier this season, and it appears to be a match made in heaven.

Wheaties has always been iconic for including athletes on the cover of their cereal for kids around the world to see. Brian Mills grew up seeing guys like Terrell Davis, Brett Favre, Emmitt Smith, Payton Manning, and other football stars on the front of the wheaties box. At about mid-season of his rookie year in the DSFL, Wheaties had approached Brian Mills with the opportunity to appear on the Wheaties box from the months of February-March 2018. Even with Mills being mocked to go in the top half of the first round in the S6 NSFL draft, Mills wouldve never expected to be approached by a company to be featured as one of their cover athletes. With the money that Mills is expected to get from the deal, he plans on buying his first brand new car, and better workout equipment for his house in Tijuana, and maybe a couple dozen boxes of cereal with his face on it.

Scene; Cordell Joshua strides up a residential street in the greater Kansas City area. He is flanked and followed by a large crowd composed of families of all ethnicities.

"I, Cordell Joshua have been approached by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce to give to you this short presentation on why the conglomerate behind the purchase of the much loved Coyotes franchise, and ultimately the ringleaders behind the desecration of one of the league's favourite franchises, have turned it into this steaming pile of horse shit that taints the image of the DSFL to the wider world. The approval of the purchase by the league's board of directors was undoubtedly a mistake and as a Coyote myself, I am very aware of this. The team has lost everything that made it great; we have lost our identity, we have lost our fans, we have lost enough of our games, but most crucially, we have lost the people of Kansas City. The people who stood behind us through everything and made the team what it is today aren't with us anymore and that's a bitter pill to swallow. All is not lost for the Coyotes and their future however. A movement is picking up momentum. A movement to bring the Coyotes back home to Kansas, to put the team back into the hands of the people who helped grow and build this team. If you want to be a part of this movement, I urge you to take action and pick up your phone, ring the office of the DSFL commisioner and beg him to take action on returning the Coyotes back home. Is it really what the team we love deserves to play out their days losing every game in an empty home stadium to a nonexistent fanbase? This team deserves and needs its fans back. Get behind the movement and get us home".

(S5) - Weekend PT #4 - Advertising - HENDRIX - 01-19-2018

Kurt Hendrix was approached by Papa John's pizza after Peyton Manning's head got too large to fit on camera. Kurt was a natural fit as he is an extremely handsome football superstar who happens to love pizza. His contract with the company is a two year deal where he will be appearing in many commercials and be on advertisements. The first shoot was a memorable one. Before an actual game they showed Kurt eating a pre game meal of three large pizzas and two dozen wings, promoting their new party special. The influence the meal had on Kurt's game were very negative, the entire first half he was nauseas as a fire brew in his stomach. He was pancaked by OL left and right. At half time he charged into the locker room stall and threw his guts up in the toilet. In the second half, with an empty stomach, he played like the dominant force we all expect him to be. (162)
