Gonna go a little outside of the box and say that PDXBaller, General Manager of the Portland Pythons, should win DSFL GM of the year. Right from square one of joining the NSFL, it was apparent how dedicated he is to his DSFL team, and probably scouted each and every S6 draftee. Seeing as how Portland didn't really have much early round picks beside the #2 pick, which they took Bagwell with, it's pretty amazing to see the level of activity in the organization. Each of his players are writing up media articles every week, keeping up with the TPE race, and i'm pretty sure all of them are active on twitter. It's scary what PDXBaller can do with just a couple mid-late round draft picks. I have no idea what what constitute as a "stat" for this category, so im gonna go out and say that (using PDXBallers own findings) they have the highest active TPE total in the entire DSFL at 1384 (Image Below). As a newly hired co-GM i'm definitely looking to learn from and observe PDXBaller and try and utilize his GM tactics. I don't even know if DSFL GM of the year is an actual award, so if it isn't, then maybe look into making it one.

EDIT: Yup, it is an award, but im not gonna erase that last sentence cuz i need it to be over 200 words so whatever

I believe that Borkus Maximus, quarterback of the Kansas City Coyotes, deserves an award for remaining alive this season while playing behind the team's Swiss cheese offensive line. Since that doesn't exist, DSFL MVP will do just fine. By the way, when I use the word "offensive" I don't use it to say they play on offense. I mean that they actively offend me with their quality of play. Here is what I'm referencing when I say this.

Seriously, the Coyotes' offensive line would actually improve significantly if five players signed up today as offensive linemen and were all given to Kansas City. The real kicker is that even if that happened, the Coyotes would have the worst offensive line the DSFL by a significant margin. They have a talentless group of hacks who line up and pretend to block defensive players. It's actually remarkable that Maximus has anything close to a 1:1 TD:INT ratio at this point in the season when you consider he probably has less than two seconds to make decisions when he drops back to pass. If you go to the DSFL index for offensive line statistics and sort by sacks, you will see no Coyotes at the top of the list. Yet at the same time, we know they have, by a significant margin, the worst offensive line in the DSFL. This is a testament to Maximus' play and ability to get throws out at a lightning quick pace. He also sits 2nd in passing yards, 4th in completion percentage (among QB's with more than 20 attempts), and tied for 2nd in touchdowns. Without Maximus, the Coyotes might be winless. I'm not sure there's another player anywhere in the league who is credibly responsible for 3 full wins and for that reason Maximus is the league's most valuable player.

As a defensive player, I tend to focus on my side of the ball. As a linebacker, I tend to look at my own position to see what I can learn and from whom. This year, I have had a wealth of guys to learn from by watching their film and studying their game. Of course, I have one of the masters in my teammate Johnathon Saint, but I’m not limited to learning from only him. This leads me to one of the guys that I’ve been watching the most this year, someone who is undeniably performing at an elite level.

There really can't possibly be any other Defensive Player of the Year than Angus Winchester. I mean, I don't want to inflate the guy's ego to the size of his waistline, but he has been an absolute monster all season. Here are some stats to back up my claim:

Tackles: 79 - Second in the league
Sacks: 14 - First in the league
Forced Fumbles/Fumbles Recovered: 2/1 - Second in the league
Passes Deflected: 7 - Top 10 for linebackers

I mean, come on. I'm struggling to come up with the words to justify this pick because the stats just speak for themselves. There is no one else who is so highly rated in so many categories. And beyond that, it's not even just performance on the field. The dude's work ethic is just unquestionable. He's constantly practicing, doing media events, offering analysis... He's just an extraordinarily busy and hardworking guy. And for those reasons, he deserves to be DPOY.

I've already seen 1 PT claiming why PDXBaller should be DSFL GM of the year, and he is 100% right. PDXBaller is undoubtably the best GM there is. With almost nothing but mid tier picks he has managed to snag a potential triple crown winner, the best safety in the league, the best tight end in the league, and the best defensive tackle in the league. If you were to be in the Pythons locker room you'd see how much of an impact he has on the team. Between keeping the guys positive after a tough loss and spending hours testing sims just to get the right scheme...His tenacity to create a winning team is unbelievable. You want a statistic? How about nearly 2 triple crown winners in a row? Dwayne Aaron (yours truly) is already the leader in yards and receptions...and only a touchdown away from leading that category too. And I must attribute my success to my mentor, who should undoubtably be DSFL gm of the year. If you want to disagree then tell me who else has done as good as PDXBaller? I mean he has built an Ultimini caliber team 2 times in a row now. Simply put PDXBaller is good enough to be a NSFL gm, its like a man playing football with 5 year olds in the DSFL.

The winner of the NSFL breakout player of the year should be an easy decision. It should go to Baltimore Hawks WR Alexandre LeClair in a land slide vote. LeClair surpassed his entire S4 receiving yards total through seven games this season. Currently through ten games, LeClair is tied for the 2nd most receiving yards among wide receivers in the entire league. He also has tallied 11 touchdowns which is also tied for 2nd in the entire league. In total catches he is 3rd amongst wide receivers. On special teams he has excelled as well. He's currently the league leader in kick return yardage and is doing it at a fantastic yards per return. Last year he was held back by incompetent quarterback play, this year in the Baltimore system he is one of several star players that make up the Hawks offense. It is very hard to double team or focus too much on a single Hawks offensive weapon because they all could burn a defense. So that has meant LeClair is getting a lot more single coverage than he has in past years and he has been very efficient with his opportunities. The Hawks are in a tight battle for a playoff berth, and he is one of the main reasons why the Hawks could make it back to the postseason. (223)

When you look at a player to give an an award, you have to take in all factors. Stats are, of course, a huge factor, but what they do off the field should be taken into account. Look at guys like J.J. Watt and Greg Olsen. Both of them are stars on the field, but they also are just as big of stars off the field because of the work they do. This is why I'm nominating Bradley Westfield for NSFL Player of the Year. Sure, he's got a beast of a stat line. You can't argue with his production, 1,280 yards and 12 TDs is amazing, but the 22.5 yards per catch is another stat that is out of this world. But what Westfield does off the field for the community is also exemplary. He's often seen giving to charities and is always the fist Otter you see responding to national tragedies. Westfield donates a lot of his time, money and effort to the community and doesn't boast about it. He does it because he knows it's the right thing to do, not because he's looking for the spotlight. He often donates anonymously to many charities so tbhat he stays out of that limelight. A truly selfless individual.
