Sports are known for their rivalries, whether it's two teams that hate each other, 2 star players fighting to be the big name, or just two teammates fighting over silly nonsense, rivalries are rampant in professional sports. Write about one of these rivalries that exists in the NSFL. We all know about the rivalry that exists in the NSFC. Yes, this rivalry is the Hawks and playoff appearances. We all know the tale, the Hawks look strong, best team they’ve had yet, they start off strong or at least in the hunt, and then they falter. This includes losing to a certain team that hasn’t been in the playoffs since S1, and last had a winning season in S2. Yes, this is losing to the Yeti, while they are on the upswing they were not expected to be in position to make the playoffs, and while that may not happen this season, they are in a better position than the Hawks right now. The story this season was that the Hawks had the best offense in the league, and it isn’t a statement that is false either. With Blocksdale, Willie, Leclair, Browning, Taylor, and a young L’Alto, the team has an extremely dangerous offense that should be able to carry any team to the postseason. The team has enough weapons to attack you from any spot, and teams should be having trouble with it, but they’re 4th in points scored. The team is a mystery, their offense should be the best in the league, their defense should be enough to not be in a bad spot, yet they’re middle of the pack in every offensive and defensive statistic except for rushing yards allowed, which they’re last in. Whatever this situation is, the Hawks just struggle to make the playoffs, and they need to get out of this funk if they ever want to get Blocksdale a title and bring the Ultimus to Baltimore. (this is gfx not written so i'm not trying to reach word count just explaining the graphic) (S8) - PT 4 - Rivalry - iseedoug - 06-11-2018 People may brush of the D-League, but it has plenty of intense rivalries. The most intense of those is between the Tijuana Luchardores and the San Antonio Marshals. I know what you are thinking, it only takes getting in the top 2 of a division to make the playoffs in the DSFL, how can any one game between these two matter? Well that is precisely it. The Luchadores and Marshals meet in the playoffs almost every year. And since the players are almost always rookies or recreates, its a battle of who can upgrade the most by playoff time, and which GMs can gameplan around that trajectory (and pick up the right free agents throughout the year). This year that rivalry is as big as ever, with the Luchadores and Marshals tied for 1st in the division, and Marshals’ QB Kevin Fitzpatrick and Luchardores Co-GM Icy Douglas making a 600,000 dollar wager on who will make it further in the playoffs. The Luchadores looking for thier first Ultimini in franchise history, while the Marshals are looking for revenge from last years playoff defeat by the Luchadores. I suspect as this rivalry continues to develop, more and more Alumni will get involved in DSFL rivalry wagers and shenanigans. Words: 208 (S8) - PT 4 - Rivalry - YoungTB - 06-12-2018 This year, the DSFL is bolstering the cream of the crop. There is so much great talent, from offense, to defense, even to special teams. But this year, two talented QBs are making their stake in the DSFL and trying to make a name for themselves. Those two QBs are Kevin Fitzpatrick of the San Antonio Marshals, and Gus T.T. Showbiz of the Kansas City Coyotes. The two QBs are closely matched in terms of stats and what they can do on the field. Fitz is a master-mind on the field with the ability to call and make plays that impact the electric San Antonio offense. Showbiz is an athletic freak, branded with the in innate ability of slinging the ball down the field and getting the pigskin to his talented receivers. As of right now, I’d say the race is tied, but Gus is slowly pulling away after the Marshals have experienced a bit of a mid season slump the past two games, with Fitz throwing a measly 1 TD and 4 INTs in those games. But in no way is the race over. If Fitz and the San Antonio offense can get back to where they were in the beginning of the season where they went 4-0, then FitzMagic and company will be a huge threat to Gus and the Yotes. It’ll be interesting to see how this rivalry plays out between two generational talents that will surely define the new wave of NSFL players once the S1 guys start to fully regress. In the latest DSFL draft, the Coyotes drafted wide receiver Vinny Valentine third overall. All along I felt that I should of been the first wide receiver taken in the draft and right when the Coyotes passed on me for another one, I made it my mission to make sure they regretted it. Now this may be unfair to Valentine because he didn't do anything to me personally, but unfortunately he's the guy who's been placed in this spot. So far, we're six games into the season and team wise, the Lucahdores are performing better than the Coyotes, with Tijuana sporting a 4-2 record and the Coyotes putting up a 3-3 record. Now, as for personal stats, Xavier Flash has been the much better player on the field. Flash has 39 catches to Vinny's 24 and 506 yards to his 352. The only thing Valentine has on Flash is touchdowns, leading 3-2 in that category. While it's early in the season, Flash is showing exactly why he has a chip on his shoulder. He's out-performing every other receiver and really showing why he should of been the first wide receiver off the board. In his own right, Valentine is having a good season, but a couple steps behind Xavier. This is a battle that I will be keeping an eye on for the whole season and I'm making it my mission that with every passing game, the Coyotes regret going with another wide receiver over me, Xavier Flash. (257 words) (S8) - PT 4 - Rivalry - Jiggly_333 - 06-12-2018 The Outlaws are the worst most lying-est cheating-est group of separate sacks of human excrement I have ever had to deal with. Ever since S1, they've always done their best to try to stop the Orange County Otters from their rightful place in the Ultimus Trophy final. They've gone so far as to plant one of their own as the simmer and deliberately drafted multis to help win the Ultimus for multiple seasons. It's not a surprise that an anagram for "Ultimus" is "U Multis". The name was created by ErMurazor, the originator of the Arizona multis and because of this undeniable FACT we should've suspected him since THE MOMENT HE JOINED THE OUTLAWS! BECAUSE FUCK THE OUTLAWS! The moment the Outlaws were caught, guess who broke through the fray? The Orange County Otters. BECAUSE THEY ARE SO MUCH BETTER! THEY COULD'VE WON EVERY SINGLE ULTIMUS IF IT WASN'T FOR THOSE MEDDLING MULTIS! In conclusion: Fuck the Outlaws and everything they stand for. Fuck anyone who has ever played for them (and not absolved themselves by playing for the Otters). Fuck all of their GMs who have ever GM'd. Fuck all of the multis. Fuck the entire state of Arizona. Fuck the entire Southwest area of the United States that isn't California. Go Otters. Fuck Outlaws. (S8) - PT 4 - Rivalry - Raven - 06-12-2018 Quote:Written: Must include 200 words. Sports are known for their rivalries, whether it's two teams that hate each other, 2 star players fighting to be the big name, or just two teammates fighting over silly nonsense, rivalries are rampant in professional sports. Write about one of these rivalries that exists in the NSFL. My rival used to be Bojo Kicksit since he was drafted ahead of me in the S1 draft, but since Kicksit shat the bed and was driven out of play. Now I would consider Dean Jackson to be a rival of mine, not in a bad way, but in a competetive way. First of all I will state my respect towards this kicker, one of the first kickers to be taken very early in a draft. Anyways my rivalry towards Jackson comes from the fact that he's just so goddamn good. Like I wish I had his level of accuracy and power. It is my dream that with a few more years of practise I can reach these levels of kickery. Sadly Jackson is in the other division, I will be playing him twice a year, but in the playoffs we have to wait till the finals to meet. Which is also great, if we were to ever make the finals. Until then we'll have to battle each other in the regular season. Which I hope to one day finish better than him in. It`ll be a long uphill struggle, but it will happen one day. You mark my words. (S8) - PT 4 - Rivalry - RedCydranth - 06-12-2018 The rivalry between the Orange County Otters and the Arizona Outlaws is long and storied. For 6 seasons, these two teams were at each other's necks fighting for that coveted ASFC Title. For thhe first 3 seasons of the NSFL, it was all about Arizona. They not only dominated over Orange County, but the entire league. thy were seen as the villains of the NSFL. When the shroud of deceit was lifted and it was proven that many of the better members of the Arizona Franchise were clones, their threepeat became tainted. While there is no way to know for sure how many of those 3 the Outlaws would have won, it was clear that had they played Orange County with a square legal team, there's a better chance that the Otters would have walked into the Ultimus Cup at least once during the Outlaws 3 year run. Once the cheaters were eliminated, it was easy to see how much more dominant Orange County was, as they won the next 3 championships. Arizona didn't exactly fall off the horse though, as they remained competitive and still posted respectable records for Season 5 and 6. Currently, the Otters are still going strong while Arizona is in a complete rebuild mode. But fans will never forget the years that Arizona stole from Orange County. (222 Words) |
