(S9) - PT 5 - Revisiting Expectations - Oles - 08-06-2018

While not having been the best rookie WR in the DSFL this season, there is something that separates Hasselhoff and Oles, and why Oles is ultimately still the superior WR. First off is the receptions, Haselhoff was seeming a primary wide receiver for the Pythons as he had 81 receptions, good for second in the league. This means Hasselhoff got much more volume than Oles, who had to share time with Valentine, Strike, and Harp. The plethora of targets in the Kansas City offense means that everyone’s stats will likely be a little bit lower than what they could actually do, but ultimately it gives the team plenty of options and they don’t have to rely on one target like Portland had to. Next is the number of touchdowns Oles had. Oles was second among receiving touchdowns, only behind Xavier Flash, who is easily DSFL Wide Receiver of the Year. This shows that Oles was a red zone threat and was able to make catches when it mattered most, so while he may not have had the overwhelming stats of a future first overall pick, he has certainly shown plenty of upside. Oles has pretty much cemented his spot as the top pick of the draft, and even if he isn’t he’ll go second overall. This is what his expectation was at the start of the season, and the only other expectation was an Ultimini victory for the Coyotes, which they could do shortly. (244 words)

Balthazar Crindy's Expectations for S9 weren't too far from reality.

So far, Crindy's yards per catch have increased modestly from 5.6 to 6.8, but his catches and receiving yards have dipped precipitously. Not surprising, going from a Hall of Fame QB to a rookie, even if a promising one.

Crindy's blocking isn't a concern - 28 pancakes and zero sacks allowed thru 13 games, the best number of pancakes for any player who hasn't given up a sack, third best for tight ends. Let's hope his perfect first two seasons of no sacks allowed holds up in the season finale. Crindy only had 18 pancakes as a rookie, similarly in S8, the best number of pancakes for any player who hasn't given up a sack.

Red zone touches haven't exactly increased, though Crindy did pick up his first touchdown reception, a 5 yard late fourth quarter catch from the rookie Fitzpatrick that should have won the game if not for the "moxie" of the Liberty, who staged a huge comeback involving a TD and 2-pt conversion with 2 seconds left on the clock, and then an overtime field goal for the win. Crindy on Twitter honestly assessed his first career score and praised the Liberty, while repeating his mantra... gotta get better.

Hugh: Hugh Honey here representing Kick Puncher, he is not much of a speaker so me and my partner Vic will be handling this... homework, for our client. No, we wont try and extend this introduction each and every task we do, fluffing up our word count in an attempt to limit any actual response we might have. These 64 words are on the house. Vic?

Vic: Expectations for Kick Puncher, well we just joined your dumbass 'league' a few days ago. For one we expected a lot more girls. And not those tranny types like the chick from the gym who married that gay dude. But the real slutty kind with the fake boobs who swarm around money.

Hugh: Speaking of money, Vic, I thought we'd have a lot more of it by now. Im starting to wonder if this isn't one of those multilevel marketing scams, you know, like Avon

Vic: right bro! Just like Avon! Girls love that shit, maybe THAT is what we should be doing!

Hugh: I think I like what you are putting down, Vic. But first we need to lure them out on a boat, ya know, because of the implication

Vic: Oh right, Rape right? Because we will rape them on the boat. I remember this, this is the I from the DENNIS system, IMPLICATION

Hugh: Vic, none of that is even remotely accurate. Let's stay on topic, we know nobody will read this shit but they're going to check to make sure we're on topic. what is the topic again?

Vic: Implications

Hugh: Ah right, so first we need to go get us some Avon, we may need Frank to loan us some money until this league wises up and puts Kick Puncher on a team. Then we buy a boat. Step 3 involves my camera and this is where things get good, you see Vic, the girls wont say no on the boat. Id EXPECT us to get everything we would ever want there.. shit, Vic EXPECTATIONS, we need to stay on topic

Vic: Whatever dude, how many words do we have now?

Hugh: I dont give a shit, what are we even doing this for if Kick Puncher isn't on a team yet? Back to the plan, go get Frank to give us some cash, ill run and find us a boat. Meet me back at the bar

Well, I expected a lot of this season to play out as it has. I predicted Baltimore and New Orleans winning the division. I think if you look at both of those teams, they're definitively in their prime.

New Orleans will most likely be in their second Ultimus in a row. They're a strong contender and have some of the best players in the league in their primes. Borkus is a young fresh QB who is only going to get better. Smallwood is pretty much the moneymaker there, which I didn't expect.

After those teams, I also knew Colorado would make a great step forward. If anyone read my preseason report on them, I said they'd be a contender for playoffs this season. And they're just about there, inching out the Wraiths. I knew it'd be close.

And naturally I expected the Otters to be right where we are. In the playoffs and underdogs against the Second Line.

What I did not expect this year was how well I would do, on a personal level. I am having the best year in my career, to date. I'm the only player (so far) that has 1 TD offensively, defensively and on Special Teams. I think that's pretty special don't you?

(S9) - PT 5 - Revisiting Expectations - PigSnout - 08-07-2018

In my PT at the beginning I talked about my expectations both from a team perspective. From a team perspective, my expectation was for the Wraiths to repeat as champions this season. At this point in the season, it's safe to say we fell short of this expectation as we were eliminated from playoff contention in Week 13 so we will not get the chance to defend our championship in the playoffs. Overall regression hit us harder than expected so we weren't on the same level as we were the past couple seasons and we caught some bad breaks that we couldn't overcome. Even though we weren't one of the top teams this year, it was still a disappointment to miss out on the playoffs and was below the expectations we had coming into the season.

From an individual perspective my expectation was to repeat as linebacker of the year and defensive player of the year. At this point, there isn't really a clear favorite for either award so it's hard to tell where I performed in regards to the expectation. But I've had a pretty good season so far with 91 tackles and 12 sacks and my final game is at home against the team that has allowed the most sacks this season, so I could finish the season on a strong performance. I don't know how my performance will stack up in the awards discussion, but from a statistical perspective, I'm happy with the numbers I put up this year so I would say I met my individual expectation pretty well.

Ugh this is a perfect PT to rant about having 3 consecutive worst seasons by defensive back, sigh...
