(S17) - PT2 - Record breaking - shipwreckrising - 09-09-2019 The Big Salami knows how to do one thing. Hit the man with the ball. And hit him, hard. By the end of his career, I would expect Tony to be top 3 all time for tackles in the entire history of the NSFL. He will chase it if he needs to, but he is a tackling machine. He already has the single game tackle record for the Yeti with 19 tackles in one game. He has the look of a player that can hang for 10 years, and he can easily surpass 1000 tackles in that time. Of course, his linebacker buddy Mo Berry will give him a run for his money. The two of them might end up fighting for this record but Tony isn't afraid to play dirty. Don't be surprised if Berry suddenly has food poisining before a couple of the low stakes early season games against easier opponents, once the yeti gets good. He needs to improve his tackling skill, he might not be as physically gifted as some of the other linebackers in the game, but his nose for the ball and his mind to dissect offenses will lead him to some great plays in the upcoming years. (S17) - PT2 - Record breaking - run_CMC - 09-09-2019 Ashley Owens has many goals for his career. The biggest? Break the National Simulation Football League's career rushing + receiving yards record. Breaking the all-purpose yards record would be pretty nice too, but kickoff and punt return yardage is not quite as important to Ashley as his rushing and receiving numbers. He models his game after NFL star Christian McCaffrey, so being a true star at the flex position is important him. Owens' first career game as a Copperhead exemplifies the type of career he hopes for: 19 rushes and a single-game record-tieing 10 catches. This all ties into why Ashley Owens also hopes to be the first player to ever break 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in the same season. To beat this record, Owens will need to improve upon what's been a decent first season for a flex player. Currently, he sits at 392 rushing yards and 318 receiving yards - this extrapolates out to 728 rushing yards and 590 receiving yards, 1318 yards total. This is far from Owens' eventual goals, but he remains confident in his ability. Eventually, when the record is secured, Owens will no doubt be ecstatic. It will be the culmination of a career full of hard work, and he's excited to see it happen one day. (214 words) (S17) - PT2 - Record breaking - Lowlycrib - 09-09-2019 Breaking a record is often one of best ways to prove your talent across the vast history of the NSFL. Tyron Brackenridge aims to break a few records over the course of his career, some conventional and others not. The one record that Tyron wants to break the most would be the tackles in a career record because it showcases multiple facets of one's game, which includes speed, intelligence, and physicality. If he can not garner the most of any position he still aims to have the most tackles by a defensive back at least. Tyron is not entirely sure if this counts as a record but he wants to play a game for every NSFL team and become the ultimate journey man, which he idealizes from watching some of his favorite CFL players go from team to team through their career. If Tyron was also able to come close to owning the record of career games played that would also be a great personal indicator on his own success and talent at the highest level in this game. Lastly, if Tyron Brackenridge was able to create a new category for the record books he most likely would end up with the career record for dropped picks as he has quoted himself as having "stone hands that can't catch much". (220 word) (S17) - PT2 - Record breaking - ven_knight - 09-09-2019 As a cornerback, Lucas Knight knows that the most important stats for his position are pass deflections, interceptions and defensive touchdowns. One of the things he would like to achieve in his career is to try to break the NSFL interceptions and defensive touchdowns records. Of course, that's not an easy task to accomplish when you have to surpass one of the best that has ever been in the league: Dermot Lavelle. He has both of the current career records with 57 interceptions and 10 touchdowns. If Knight wants to come close to breaking these numbers, it would require a great effort starting from now, probably involving seasons with 8+ interceptions with 1 or 2 of them returned for a score. We asked Lucas how he feels about this topic and here is his response: “Every player dreams to be on the top list for stats and be remembered for a solid career. I know I have high hopes for being among the best DBs of the league but I understand that in order to reach that place I have to play better; obviously my first goal is always to help my team and I'll be very happy that in doing so I can break one of those records. Truth is, I had a rough start in the interceptions department during my first 2 seasons, but that doesn't discourage me from keeping on the dream about seeing myself in the top 10. As of today, I think I got a shot for the Outlaws interceptions and defensive touchdown records; I would be very proud of my performance with this team if I at least can break these ones”. |
