In the offseason the San Antonio Marshals went out and made a big statement as they used their first pick in the S18 draft to take the disruptive DE Jayson Kearse out of Michigan. After already having a big time DE in Mike Franchet the Marshal's management went out and improved an already solid defense and trying to turn it into a great defense. Early season stats indicate that they are a middle of the league type of defense, but individual stats show a different story. Allen Josh leads the league in tackles, rookie DE Jayson Kearse is tied for second in the league with 5 tackles for loss, Mike Franchet is tied for second in sacks with 3, S William Mitchell leads the league with 4 INTs and is second in pass break ups. As you can see this is a team with quite a lot of individual defensive talent, it just needs to gel together better. If that happens you'll see the Marshals go form a team with a defense that is annoying to play against become a defense team's actually fear of playing against. Another thing San Antonio has going for them is that they have alot of depth every besides the safety position, and considering this is a younger team there is still room for improvement.

Defense 100% wins championships. This Baltimore defense is absolutely bonkers in how good it is. To start off, we easily have the two best young safeties in the game in Faith Terim and Walt Green. Both of those guys put up great stats every game. Walt green seems to always be good for a pick and a sack every game.
Then, to further off our secondary we have Xandra Troyski, Arbin Asipi, and Dorfus Jimbo, who are both playing the CB position. Jimbo, the former RB, is a safety but is playing CB after the surpise of Axel Hornebacher leaving us in the offseason and we did not have a suitable replacement for his departure, so we were forced to play Jimbo at corner, and he has been playing pretty decent out of position. ANd of course Asipi and Troski are great as well.
At LB, we have Marquess Acho, a great young LB, who is always there to stop the run and end drives. We also have the timeless legend in Ben Horne playing at LB who is always great.
Our defensive line is full of studs in D'pez Poopsie and Benson Harris, who we have both traded for in the last couple of seasons and have been perfoming very well for us and stopping opposing offenses

Written Option: Write about your team's defense. Go into detail about why they are good, bad, average, underrated, or young and growing. Maybe predict how they will finish in the league stat wise. As long as you stay on topic, I’m to however you want to write it.

This Copperheads defense is young, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Everything I say here could really change just from how quickly things generally change within the NSFL and it's teams but saying that.

I believe the copperheads are just 1-2 seasons away from having a league best defense from beginning to end.

At the forefront however, it's old bolstered by young between both S12 Grayson Kuusela & Dick Wizardry operating as both the lead tackle and defensive end respectably. Then you've got the pretty young guys in the recent trade acquisition, Brayden Ennis who looks in early doors to be a stud. Alongside the drafted prospect in JCB, both guys are looking to be a great pairing if they can clean up their off the field issues.

Then you move onto their exquisite LB corps currently headed by the ageless wonder that is Bakshi. Honda Edmond and the recently drafted Net Gaines rounds out the linebacker corps that is currently in developing stages.

Leaving just the secondary which is led by the young but dominant Chase Jensen at safety alongside the youth of Okura. If you move ahead to their cornerbacks, third season player Dermot Lavelle Jr is joined by the recently drafted Xavien Adams who is poised to get off to a great start. This Austin defense is young but it's ready to feast in a season or two.

The Baltimore, Maryland hawks offense gets a ton of press for how dynamic, young, and just overwhelmingly good it is, But the defense is really where the Baltimore, Maryland Hawks are going to get their wins in the future. Despite only having picks in the third round onward they managed to fill their Dline with a super active D-lineman playing in the Defensive end Fabricio Baldari (a position of such apparent need that three other players were pressured to switch positions by the team drafted by them to switch, instead of going with the active person who updated every week and was on discord every other day and who played the whole DSFL season at that position, no they decided to pressure people to go into other positions other then the one they picked when they created, not even the DSFL dlineman of the year got drafted by a team that wanted him, he got sent down by his team right quick). And managed to fill their cornerback field with a solid third choice Cornerback ready to grow out and become a star in the coming years in Rookie Marston Junior. On a team depleted of draft stock due to acquiring superstar talent, The Baltimore, Maryland Hawks managed to somehow fill the holes on defense with superstars of the future, without dictating to them what positions they need to play now.

The Wraiths defense is elite. yeah I said it, downright elite. We have been pretty good for a few seasons now but this defense is on its way to becoming one of the best defenses this league has ever seen. And that's pretty helpful given that Cooter hasn't been playing his best football latelyy and he needs all the help he can get from the other side of the ball. We have been a defense that thrives on big impatc plays, lots of sacks and lots of turnovers and thats what we're doing well yet again this season. With such studds like Nero Alexander getting to the passer and dudes like Grithead still doing a killer job of blowing up the QB from his spot at strong side linebacker along with some of those new stud safeties like Uchiha finally taking a huge step forward to become the ballhawk he always wanted to be, the Wraiths are doing their best to win games without having to relyy on their QB to play hero ball, because far too often that dude throws picks and can put them in a worse spot than where theyy were before. This wraiths defense is one that other teams better prepare to struggle against.

The Outlaws defense has been known since the beginning of the league for giving consistently good to astounding performances in terms of sacks, forced fumbles and tackles for loss. From my experience, when I arrived to the team in season 15, Arizona was in a great position to once again regain the status of a reliable defense following a disappointing season 14. This was possible because of the addition of some key players in the secondary in the S15 draft (safeties McKinnie and Mack, cornerback Knight), calling linebacker Lee up from the DSFL and bringing safety Barnes and cornerback Montgomery via free agency and trade.

The investment of draft capital and free agents really pay off during season 16. The defense finish in the top 5 with stats of 48 sacks (1st), 35 TFL (1st), 7/7 FF/FR (T-3rd), 66 passes defended (6th) and 9 interceptions (7th). The truly remarkable performance was in the playoffs which earned the Outlaws a trip to the Ultimus game by first winning against their rival the Otters on the road and containing them to just 3 points scored, plus adding 4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 interceptions.

For season 18, I see the Outlaws finishing with a top 3 defense, the key is having LB Raymond Vans keeping his performance of at least 1 sack per game and to see more takeaways from the secondary. I predict Arizona to end up in the first three on sacks and tackles for loss.

Wow well lets talk about the Philadelphia Liberty Defense and why we are so bad this season but like we have a good future so its not fair to say that we are bad we just had some GMing mistakes in the past and now we have a good core and a pretty solid core for the long term even though we are crappy right now. So long term lets talk about everyone on our defense and why we are in good shape. In the secondary we have amazing pieces and it is definitely the long term strength of our team and thinking of our secondary we have to start with two stars aka Richard DAtoria and then Emondov Emoji. Having those guys who are both S15 and they are stars and they are loyal guys who are amazing and it's the start to a great defense. We also have Tubbytim AKA the rookie of the year AKA super star Julian McMorris. And that is just our secondary. Another future strength is the s18ers on our defensive line and starting with Zach Hall and Mike Franchet. They are the going to be studs both in the sim and in the LR they are both hyper active and the heart and soul here. So that is why defense matters and why we are in great shape. 225
