(S21) - PT1 - Reloaded - Starboy - 03-11-2020 With being the GM and the quarterback of the Kansas City Coyotes, it is hard to watch your old team move up and move into new homes. However, it is just as exciting to see new draft picks fill the roles of the old players that the Coyotes had drafted before. This season, with 271 draft picks, the Coyotes were able to find brand new faces that have a great chance at becoming the next legends that people mention for seasons to come. Starting from the top, players like Phat Boi, Eddie Jeeta, Chester Sweets, and Kevin Fakon have been the guys that we viewed as future players in Kansas City for quite some time. This draft class was ripe with talent at the top and we managed to scrape off of in the draft. Even our later players such as Fawn Dillmiballs, Matthew McDairmid, or Nuniq Annastesia have made impacts in the locker room and other areas that set them apart from the class. It is hard to pinpoint just a single player that we feel will change things around since all of them are just as important as the last. The Coyotes are proud to introduce our players into the new season and can’t wait to see them move into their next games and next teams in the NSFL. (S21) - PT1 - Reloaded - br0_0ker - 03-11-2020 To end the S20 season, the Chicago Butchers rattled off wins against 9-4 Wraiths, the 7-6 Otters, and the 8-5 and champions of the S20 season Austin Copperheads, as well as losing a narrow contest to the Arizona Outlaws 44-42. With such momentum heading into the S21 season, hopes are high in the Windy City that this is the season Chicago finally turns the corner and achieves some action in the postseason. New additions Osiris Firestorm-Fjord and Jerome Davis should prove viable as replacements for underwhelming inactives. And while the Butchers were able to supplement their draft acquisitions with a couple depth signings in free agency (despite not landing the big free agent fish they were hoping), perhaps the biggest move for the Butchers comes in the form of an internal change: Ryan Leaf Jr, long time defensive lineman for Chicago, is slimming down and switching sides of the ball. As of S21, Leaf Jr takes over the lead running back position, giving Chicago undoubtedly the most lethal offense in the league. Overall, the arrow is pointed upwards for Chicago, with improvements on both sides of the ball and another year of maturation for their existing players, and when you compare that with some of the regression/retirements/losses of teams in their conference, it is easy to see why the Butcher should be the representative from the NSFC in the S21 Ultimus. (S21) - PT1 - Reloaded - Tigerfan895 - 03-11-2020 PBE Task (S21) - PT1 - Reloaded - Tesla - 03-11-2020 Written Option: The draft for Norfolk started in the secondary, and that stellar secondary could see them all the way to the Ultimini. Cornerback Thubba Bumper taken at 6th overall and the self proclaimed righter of the ship leads the secondary. An elite zone corner who will be able to shut down their side of the field regularly against the average wide receiver of the DSFL. Even against fellow elite players Thubba Bumper will be in good shape as long as he does not have to cover for long. While I initially wanted to write a paragraph about each player these next two are truly a terrifying twosome and deserve credit together as they dynamite duo that they are on and off the field. Matt 'Son of Havoc' Cross and Wesley 'Handsome Face' Eriksen are the best safety tandem in the DSFL even as rookies. They work so well because Matt brings the pain as a play maker at the strong safety position, and allows Wesley to make plays as a center fielder at the free safety position. They have a friendly rivalry going on as they compete to be the first to make the play, and that drive to outdo the other will only make them better as a duo as the season progresses. Playing opposite of Thubba at the cornerback position is Bayden Brosley another highly talented rookie prospect who has done a wonderful job with the opportunity. Another brilliant zone corner with superb hands who can make use of all the targets that will come their way. Combined with Eriksen in the deep middle and the cover three of this team should shut down all of the rookie quarterbacks they come across. That is the basis of the Seawolves defense. Combined with that stellar secondary though is a front seven that consists mostly of send downs, but does include more than a few new stand out players. Of course my client is one that everyone knows, but the other two new nose tackles are also going to make an impact in the rotation. Eating up the middle of the line of scrimmage are the dual nose tackle terrors of Lucas Faucher and Godrick Fallstrum. All three of them might never appear on a stat sheet, however their importance is drawing double teams on the field for the rest of the defense to make plays. The unsung heroes of the defense, or they would be if not for the band I hired to sing their praises. Flanking them is the returning Dorfus Jimbo Jr on the weak side who will benefit the most from the double teamed defensive tackles, however it is the new players that we are talking about today. The projected starting strong side end is Loin Stake a power rusher with potential to be a key part of this devastating defense. Standing next to one of the trio of terrific tackles will give him plenty of opportunities for one on one match ups that you can expect him to win with consistency against rookie tackles. The linebacker corps of the Seawolves consists of two good send downs, along with a few new recruits of which I want to talk up two specifically. Balanced Jack Banks and speed rusher Spike Suzuki may seem quite different, but they show a key similarity for the defense of the Seawolves. A tenacity for victory that will be hard to match for opponents. While they may not stand out as much compared to some of their more boisterous companions they are nonetheless key pieces to this new Norfolk defense, and are working hard to get more time in the rotation. Now you may think all this talk just means that I only know defense, or that Norfolk will rely too much on their offense. All it means is I saved some of the best for last. Pocket passing quarterback Luke Skywalker with their special force connection to the clutch Kevin Koh! Now of course the famous Flash Panda is the central engine of this offense, but that is just what makes Luke and Kevin so dangerous. Teams that underestimate them for rookies have already been punished in preseason, and as the season progresses you can trust them to get more dangerous as their skill develops and their connection deepens. Do not be surprised if Kevin is the best receiver of the year with how well he and Luke are developing already. Now I said I saved some of the best for last, and to be fair every player on this list is fantastic. However one of my personal favorites is Sam Sidekick. You ever see someone side kick a ball? It is a thing of beauty, and with how potent this team is on the field you can expect to see it often. Come to the games to hang with the best folk, but stick around to see the side kick! (S21) - PT1 - Reloaded - BRNXB0MBERS - 03-11-2020 Since the Outlaw’s devastating 30-23 loss to the eventual champion Austin Copperheads in the ASFC playoffs opening round in S20, GM Unicorn and co-GM dankoa poured all of their efforts into the draft instead of acquiring players through trade or free agency. They went heavy on defense to compliment the inactive players on the roster (Ricardo Morris, Beau Montgomery, Marlo Smart, and Joseph Henry). With their first selection, they selected NT Pete “Plop” Miller at 14 overall (fourth pick in the second round). Arizona’s GMs continued the focus on defense, selecting Trevor Mouseman (LB) at 16, Juane Arc (DT) at 34, Atlas Quin (CB) at 43, and Jackmerius Tacktheritrix (DE) at 44. Arizona also made some long-term picks on the offensive side of the ball with Baby Yoda (RB) at 24, George O’Donnell (QB) at 47, Justice Green (WR) at 74, and J.J. “Jay” Jay-Jaymison (K/P) at 64. The Outlaws desperately needed help on the defensive line with Morris, Masters, and Culbertson averaging 107 tackles, seven tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and two forced fumble per year as a group. That’s where they hope Miller will be able to contribute. In his one season in the DSFL, he posted 45 tackles, nine tackles for loss, four sacks, and two forced fumbles for the Norfolk Seawolves. The big man is expected to soak up the blocks to allow his teammates more opportunities to get to the QB. Through two games in S21, the defensive line has shown great improvement forcing negative-yardage plays. They are on pace for 13 tackles for loss and 26 sacks over the course of the season. Plus, that doesn’t include whatever stats Miller provides. With all of the pieces in place, look for Arizona to be dominant in the trenches for the upcoming season and the foreseeable future. Code: 301 words (S21) - PT1 - Reloaded - Troen - 03-11-2020 Prompt Wrote:Written Option: The new season brings in fresh faces for both the NSFL and DSFL. Write how the new additions to your team will help you compete for a championship this year. Did you lure in a key free agent, or perhaps a few new pieces from the draft? Well naturally the DSFL, given its nature as the intermediate step between college and the big leagues, is wildly in flux year-to-year. The vast majority of the Buccaneers weren't here in the last season and I suspect many won't be here next year either. DSFL turnover is hard to predict given the variable nature of how many players out of college each season go on to join the professional leagues. For the buccs, though, we have 52 players officially on the roster and 38 of those are new to the team in this draft. We naturally appreciate the veteran leadership from those who have been here before, but I like to think that my class will be an important part in trying to bring a championship to Myrtle Beach. To be fair, though, while I like to have faith in my draft class, every other team has similarly seen a huge influx of new talent and so the competition will be fierce in the DSFL this year. Given especially the two expansion teams, it might be fair to say that our veterans are actually the central building blocks in our efforts to make it back to the championship game. Without the inspired play of Dax Frost, Rotticus Scott, and other vets we would have a much more difficult go at getting back to the championship game. This early in the season we of course can't guarantee that we'll get back there, but I have confidence that the Buccs' DSFL draft class has the tools to get back there. Of course, being a member of said draft class, I'm quite biased, but I know that one player isn't enough to build a team. I have faith in the efforts of my teammates and believe that we'll have a good go at it this year. The offense brings in the ultra-talented Jack brother, Monty, the first overall pick to be its leader. Next up there’s a 3 headed monster of a running attack led by second round pick White Goodman, and including the speed demons Kichwa Jones and Aaron Feels. The receiving corps includes talented young receiver William Lim, an international prospect from Korea, and speedy deep threat Mike Lee on the opposite side. TE Jeffrey Phillips is expected to be a big part of the offense as well, as he’s one of the teams most talented players. TEs Tristian Hex and Zee Rechs will get a chance to make an impact as well. On defense, the Dallas front 7 includes the beastly defensive linemen, James Cho, Big Edd, Forty Jordy, and Joe Montania. These guys will be the first line of defense against the run heavy offenses of the DSFL. The linebacking corps also unofficially dubbed the “Iron Curtain” will be one of the biggest strengths on the defensive side of the ball. Stanislaw Koniecpolski will be the MLB, Haha Mango-Panda will man the strong side, and Bayley Benson Jr. will start on the weak side of the ball. The defensive backs include corners Colt Mendoza who has really begun to find his feet in the league, and Xaq Schiaparelli who is an enthusiastic character with tons of potential. Safety Eric Barlow will be the ball hawking center fielder, Hamish MacAndrew will be the playmaker at strong safety. We’re really excited about the new team in Dallas and look forward to a big season. (S21) - PT1 - Reloaded - Toasty - 03-12-2020 PBE PT 17-2 |
