(S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - iseedoug - 03-26-2020 If the NSFL season was suspended due to COVID-19, Dougie Smalls would keep his normal workout regimen, but move kicking practice to his backyard, where he already has a legitimate set of goal posts (with a net behind it of course). It is not like you can just buy an official size goal post on Amazon, so Dougie Smalls got creative. After his first and second paycheck from Yellowknife, Smalls found the oldest, most run down high school football field in the Northwest Territories, and renovated it for the school. This renovation included a whole new stadium, locker rooms, and college scholarship fund for graduating athletes from the program. However, most important to this story, this meant getting rid of the old goal post, which Smalls took, placing one in his backyard and shipping the other one to ForThe Brand’s house in Baltimore (despite being division rivals, the two have become friends, and Smalls wants to make sure he beats ForThe Brand in kicking stats fair and square). Now, back to Smalls yard, it is just long enough to fit in a 65 yard Field Goal try, with official paint and field layout. This gives him plenty of opportunities to practice long kicks in the cold Northwest Territory weather. Although, I’d imagine with no games on the line, Smalls would also take up drinking beer while kicking. If you can hit them tipsy, you can hit them sober. (S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - Nokazoa - 03-26-2020 PT PASS (S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - BadLck - 03-26-2020 I would be pretty bummed out if the NSFL decided to suspend the season but it would give me a lot more free time to explore the finer things in life. I would continue to work out daily to keep my strength and speed up, but in all honestly I would probably become much phatter. I would spend my days trying to figure out good food combinations that no other people have ever thought of. Shipments of ingredients would be coming to my house from far and wide so that I can create the one ultimate burger. I would also continue to do my Dose of Phat podcast but it would probably have to take a change in direction though. Instead of reporting on all things DSFL we would report on all things Burgers. I would still keep in contact with my teammates and GMs but from a safe distance of course. Maybe you would even get to hear a coyote cast from us since we would have much more free time. Also game nights would probably become a staple for us. Who knows maybe I would become a professional E-Sports player and have a huge stream. There’s a lot of things I would want to do but let’s hope it doesn’t get to that point and the NSFL can stay up and running through these very trying times. Code: Words: 229 (S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - bjkman - 03-26-2020 As a player from New Zealand I would love the opportunity to go home and see my family who I miss dearly. My sleep schedule has changed a ton for what it was previously with this move to Tijuana, Mexico. If the NSFL/ DSFL suspended the season this would give me more time for improvement as this is the first American Football experience, I would get more time to improve and train outside of football season as I still have a lot to improve on. I would miss my teammates if I went back to New Zealand but it would be the best way to social distance as we are in different countries. We can video chat while training even though we are in different time zones, this would be an awesome way for everyone to improve and keep social distancing. I'm lucky my other job won't be effected by this suspension so I would continue my YouTube videos and keep my online fans happy outside of football season. Sure, it would be a sad and difficult way to end my first season of professional football but without a doubt I would come back next year strong and ready to compete. (S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - C9Van - 03-26-2020 Well I mean SHL and PBE are functioning too. But Lazzy would just do what he always does during the off-season. At first just chill and relax at home to recover from any small injury or bruises he may have sustained. But then eventually he would just get back to intense training to prepare for whenever this league would eventually restart. Assuming the season would be lost I think The Laz would not exactly care that much. As long as everyone on his cult and the cult were doing a good job he would not be worried about losing just 1 random season but I can see others being upset about that. Out of character though I would be fairly sad that we would not be able to continue to sim league season to a close. I would also hope that everyone would freeze for 1 season in regression cause it is hardly fair we all have 1 less season in regression or in our primes or where ever you would be in your players career. I don't think it would really mess anything that major up considering the risks that come from a corona virus situation. But thankfully this pandemic does not come to any of this and we can complete the season to the end and all can be well. It's all i'm going durring my off-time now anyway so why change it up? The game has everything I look for to burn time. I can grind, I can build, I can get creative, I can just chill, I can hustle. Shit man. This is what everyone should do during these trying times. After that tho, If I had more time i'd like to get myself a nice portable discgolf basket. Really work on my shot. Now don't get it twisted. I wouldn't sleep on my progress as a player of the footballs. Nah man, I have my own gym dedicated to that shit just incase this all goes belly up. You KNOW I gotta keep #1 at #1. Its all I know. First and foremost though, if it wasn't essential for me to play, due to NSFL being the most amazing piece of entertainment in existence. I'd stay inside my god damn house. Not just to keep me, or my wife and child safe, but to keep the world safe. We all gotta to our part. Otherwise there who knows how hard this can hit us? This whole quarantine isn't fun. Its not suppose to be. It's suppose to save lives. (S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - juniped - 03-27-2020 I would be heartbroken but I think there are definitely some things I could do to make up for not being a season. For one my favorite part about both the Liberty and Norfolk Lock Rooms is just the community of people there. Great people to talk to and just chill with. Second I think there are some players in both locker rooms I could see myself playing games with. Maybe I’ll install Rocket League and let Lefty Louis carry me. Second, I know Norfolk has some plans for events like jackbox nights and movie nights. Those are good ways to pass the time as well as form good relationships with the team. Third, I have it on good authority that Scorp is supposed to be working on a text based D&D game for Norfolk that would be hella fun. My players would be disappointed if the season was cancelled. He was having a pretty great season in Norfolk but he knows it wouldn’t be the end. Honestly though he wouldn’t be too mad. He has a bright future ahead of him in the NSFL and knows that even if things get cancelled, he will still be able to move forward. I think he would be more sad for the rookies who are not able to finish their full DSFL season. (S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - QuirkyTurtle - 03-27-2020 If the NSFL league decided to suspend the season I’d be super upset. The Kansas City Coyotes are well on track for the Ultimini and our locker room is lit. The only upside is I wouldn’t have to come to training where KC think its useful to have us train with real live coyotes! And the bites are stacking up and are painful. I’m even starting to fear the howl. But I guess if there were no games to play, us coyotes would be playing a ton of Risk. It’s become quite the event in our locker room and you can play it online. At least that’s good strategy training… if we were actually going to war. A few of us might just go crazy over time though. Phat boi for one I could see going a bit loopy as isolation could have him hallucinating QBs in his hallway and he’ll begin rushing them and smashing head first into the walls. Tree should be fine as long as the team is able to supply copious amounts of cereal for him. Our GMs butters and starboy I imagine could be quite thankful for a season cancellation. I’d imagine all the late night simming is beginning to take its toll. But overall, hella glad for this league, it’s keeping me going each day and I’m super glad to be a part of it! Words: 231 |
