After being one field goal short from making the Ultimini, I was truly sadden to be one step away from the Ultimini. As a team, we plan to be back in the playoffs, and try to win it all. Norfolk acquired some great rookies in Quentin Button, Sigismund Sternenstaub, Captain Rogers and many more S23 DSFL rookies who can make an impact in helping Norfolk winning it all. We also having players returning such as Dre Matthews, Benoit Blanco (with a position a change to defense), Tequila Sunrise, Luke Skywalker, Ramza, De Pengu, and many other players who can help the rookies be successful as possible. These players also have experience of what the DSFL is like and plan to use that knowledge and use it to teach the young pups. We also got some players who went up to the NSFL that tremendously helped Norfolk last year. I plan on having a breakout season and try to win awards such as Wide Receiver of the Year or Offensive Player of the Year; but, awards are not my top priority because I always put winning and the team first and will do whatever I can help to contribute to that. To sum it all up, the plan is pretty easy. Win and win the Ultimini.

I think without a doubt that nobody was surprised by the down season that Baltimore had last season with the early call up of yours truly at quarterback when Corvo Havran left to join the Honolulu Hahalua. The Hawks had young rookies or second year players at key positions with aging veterans still holding on at others. The team was not exactly prime for winning game after game last season. However, all of that will change in the second season under Chika Fujiwara. With the addition of over one hundred TPE, and counting, to the QB, the Baltimore Hawks finally have the drive to succeed under the new players. The rookies around have all turned into more experienced players that want to crush this season. Players rising up to the challenge such as Lewandowski at TE becoming a solid receiving option with Asher Quinn stepping up to the mark as WR1 in the new offense. Joining the offense this season is Nick Kaepercolin who continued his streak of getting a touchdown in his first game in each league. On the defensive side, it is hard to mistake the leaders forming in Derred de Ville and Nuniq Annastesia who continue to strive for greatness. Our goal for this season is definitely making it to the playoffs with these new powers and to take the Hawks beyond. There is still plenty to see with the Hawks and even if this season isn’t the Ultimus, it surely is within range soon.

I decided to pro literally 3 days ago and so much has happened since then. Just last week, I was a linebacker out of UCLA. And this week, I was picked up off the waivers and introduced to my new team. I felt the connection the second I stepped in the locker room and our handsome GM Sylphreni introduced me. Although it's only been a couple days, I can already tell I will march out onto the field and follow that man into battle. Speaking of handsome men, one of the first guys to welcome me in was Lesean Crooks. Dude is as flashy in person as he is on the field. In his own words, he described himself as “the Rolex-wearing, gator shoe stepping, headlining, high flying, leave your QB crying, wheeling, dealing, pass stealing, baddest defensive back in the NSFL”. As much as I can talk about him all day, some other kings on the Royals slapped me on the back to welcome me to the team, like sack master Harrison Andrews. He's a lovable dad off the field but a monster on it.

Now it may be seen as a negative that I haven’t had a chance to get to know our stud QB Mr. Jack and his high flying WRs and RBs, but they were busy running routes after practice to get in extra reps. That’s the type of work ethic you like to see.

I’m extremely confident in this team moving forward. The Royals have the “it” factor that you can’t explain. Something that you can immediately feel even after just 48 hours. This came to fruition during the preseason game when I watched some of our studs shine, like Bob Bob with his sacks and pick 6. Even the offensive lineman who normally fly under the radar had big games like Macaroni Elephant.

If our preseason game was an indicator of success, that means we’re poised to win it all this season. I’m the newbie but as I train hard and build the team chemistry, I’m going to ensure that I bleed on the field to make sure the Royals are DSFL champs.

The Yellowknife Wraiths are without question one of the most balanced and talented rosters in the league with stars at every level on both sides of the ball. They have been consistently the best team in the NSFC and missing the playoffs would be a catastophy. Their culture of success means they expect to top their conference and make a playoff run. An Ultimus in Canada is long overdue and I've no doubt that it will come eventually if Yellowknife keep knocking on the door and getting up from the mat after getting knocked down. Colorado will be confident of their chances coming off their own Ultimus success but the truth is that they had a lot of bounces of the ball go their way during those playoffs to reach the summit and while their title is deserved it may not be easy to repeat that success.

Yellowknife are built for consistent success, and while it's certainly true that a few of their superstars may be past their peak, there is more than enough life in the old dogs and no shortage of determination. Cooter despite his age is coming off an MVP season, and while Swift has lost a yard of pace, Rodriguez has emerged as a capable number 1 receiver. That's before you talk about the addition of another veteran in Action Jackson who gives Cooter another weapon. Skyline is coming off a rookie of the year season and will be pushing one of the leagues best offensive players Mattias Hanyadi for touches.

I am fully expecting an Ultimini championship for the London Royals. It all comes down to having a stellar lineup of players dedicated to improvement throughout the season. It has been said that defense wins championships, and that will be the case for the London Royals. After bringing in a draft class of talent and going undefeated in the preseason, the playoffs and eventual championship are all but guaranteed. Starting on the defensive side of the ball, Crooks and Van Perkins lining up at corner are going to shut down most of the receiving cores across the DSFL. Pairing with them in the secondary are Sly and Bob Bob. With all of this talent I expect the Royals to lead the DSFL in interceptions and pass deflections. Opposing halfbacks will not be getting very far with Light, Cadaire, and Domine at linebacker. When it comes to the offense, Colby Jack is going to be slinging the ball with incredible accuracy to some great receiving options. Along with this, Jack has potential for some touchdowns on the ground. Then topping it off with King as halfback, and if he gets into the open field no one will be catching him. Not to mention PhastBawls at kicker who will be racking up the extra points, and the field goals if by chance the Royals offense gets stopped. A complete team with dedicated members are going to bring home the Ultimini, and propel some young players into the NSFL.

Although the Portland Pythons' offense wasn't the best in season 22 scoring less than 18 points per game which was second to last in the league, season 23 is a whole different story. The Pythons may have changed their colors and their logo, but they have mostly the same offense as before. Portland has an absolutely stacked running back core. Joseph Petrongolo has already hit the 250 TPE cap that the DSFL makes players stay at, and Kenyel McZeal will hit it very early in the season, at the end of this week. The Portland Pythons are also stacked at Wide Receiver, With both Sean Snyder and Videl-San being well above the cap, both upwards of 300 TPE, even though that extra doesn't make any difference. The biggest loss the Pythons suffered was the calling up of their quarterback, the capped George O'Donnell, who is going to be playing for Chicago Butchers, A team that is in need of some help. However they made up for this loss with the drafting of what people called the best QB of the draft. On the defensive side of the football, The Pythons have nearly capped Omar Wright, Jr., a Linebacker, and drafted a bunch of new rookie defenders such as Dorothy Zbornack, a defensive end, and Joel Drake, a safety. The Pythons are looking stacked this season on both sides of the ball and are ready to make a legit run at league champions.
