RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - .simo - 07-08-2021

Well I didn't write anything in that other thread, so good luck with that one PPT. Haha.

I always love these things, there is always so many people I am thankful for in my time here. Firstly, I'm really excited and thankful that my wife @.emfaithhas joined this league with me. She has more recently gotten involved in sim leagues being apart of the Pro Baseball Experience. She has been great over there with a fair bit of player success and also having joined their head office team. I am very excited though that she has created here and can play in another league with her. She is also just one of my favourite people in the world, not just in sim leagues.

As for people that have gotten me started, there is so many people that helped and I've probably forgotten some too so I'm sorry if I did. It was all a huge blur when I started. One huge one though was @Duilio05 who reached out to me when I was not even in the league but messaged and got me to come back and create at my second chance at the league. I'm always thankful that he did reach out to me.

Another huge group of people that helped a lot at the start was all the people at Kansas City Coyotes. @Starboy @Buttersqauch101 @Matty7478 @GlimsTC @sakrosankt @PMoney @slate @ShnarlyDude @WhatAmUs @frazzle14 @RenoJacksonHS. Always thankful for all of these people and they were a huge part of my league experience starting out. Some of these people were already there and helped when I was playing there and some others were S25 or so creates and were a huge part of the war room when I was learning how to be a GM with Glims and I'm always grateful for those people who were there to help me learn that side of these leagues too.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - CLG Rampage - 07-08-2021

Where can I even begin? It'll soon be my two year anniversary in this league and I have interacted with hundreds of people in my time here. From my first steps in San Antonio, to my first draft with Yellowknife, to my time as a GM for Minnesota. But I'll try.

Firstly, I have to thank the great team in San Antonio. Honestly, that was such a long time ago that I can't quite remember who was GM, but I remember a few names, chief among them being Woelkers, I think. I needed a lot of assistance back then and that San Antonio team really kept me around and kept my interest so I didn't just quit after 2 or 3 weeks. This league was pretty confusing in the early days, so I really have them to thank for my success in the league.

I also have plenty of people to thank for my extremely successful time in Yellowknife. I believe BigRed and shady were the GMs when I was drafted, after the whole debacle with Jerrod Canton and Morgan Marshall retiring at the exact same time. It basically put the team into 'oh shit' mode, and I was the choice to replace them alongside Orien Drake (RIP). I could not have been happier with that choice. Not only did Hanyadi have an amazing amount of success, the team itself was a great environment with a ton of great people, including Murtsi (also RIP Sad ). I really have to thank Fly and Shady for putting up with me over the course of six seasons, I know I wasn't the easiest person to work with, but they took it in stride and really made the Wraiths a place I was happy to call home.

Of course, there is my time as the GM of Minnesota. And as much as I love to rib him, Dewalt was a great partner when I was starting off before he left for bigger pastures in Berlin. I loved working with voiceless, he was an absolute machine and really was the brains of that operation. There's also dozens of people that went through the war room and, of course, the many draftees we've had come through Minnesota during my time there. Every single one of them was special to me, and I wanted nothing but the best for them all.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Zoone16 - 07-08-2021

It’s been a fun season for my return to the ISFL, after my original stint between S1 and S11. Many users have been fun to talk to and the direction the league is going, paired with the updated sim engine is positive globally. I’ll be leaving my original time out of this task so for my return, I’d like to thank @zeagle1 & @Bayley for nagging me to recreate in the ISFL and for helping me decide what position & build to go for. It’s been a very fun first season performance wise thanks to them.
Once on the Norfolk Seawolves, I’ve had a lot of fun particularly with the jeopardy bot and @negs incapability of stringing consecutive questions correctly. Kidding aside, he’s been a great voice in the locker room and @TMosura & him make a solid GM duo. Beyond the GMs, the two big voices in the locker room, @SchwarzNarr & @IsaStarcrossed have been more than just social butterflies, but quitter literally player mentors for everyone, helping me figure out the site, wolf bot, and having some intense discussions on aspects of the ISFL that I personally do not like. I think it’s always good to hear different opinions on a subject to see the other side of the argument and those two have been very helpful in this aspect.
Outside of the Seawolves locker room, @C9Van has been a very fun person to talk to, especially that we are now teammates in the SHL. @InciteHysteria is back in the ISFL and better than before so shoutout to him for coming back (for the Nth time but I think this is the one). And just a general shoutout to every cross-league user who decide to give other sim sports a shot!
Lastly, I’d like to give a big shoutout to the jeopardy-bot who has provided me with countless hours of joy and frustration during this pandemic.

I wouldn't be able to start this PT off without first telling @124715 it's his fault I'm even writing this. Seriously though, for whatever random chance we started talking and you bringing up ISFL it was enough to finally get my ass over here after seasons of prolonging. You guided me along and were the first to set me up for a successful path. Thanks for your patience as I bombarded you daily with several questions that lasted for a couple weeks.

To my London gang - @slate & @katarn22 both of you were amazing to welcome me and put together an exceptional group that also welcomed me. London's LR is one of the tops I've ever experienced and it's a very real factor that played into me getting so excited about a new league. @Sebster, @Luciddreams702, @EricNCSU, @WildfireMicro were some to name a few that I constantly seemed to engage with right off the bat. @BOOM™ as well, but he helped kind of ease the newness nerves since I knew him from other leagues. Winning the Ultimini in my first season as a waiver pickup with this group was something special. Continuing to talk with Seb and Lucid has been even more special because it's the LR experience and getting to know new folks in these leagues that make it worthwhile for me.

On to my home in Norfolk - @IsaStarcrossed it started with you. I was open to being drafted by anyone, but I'd be lying if I still didn't have an underlying desire to return to London. Our conversation prior to the draft (and apparently after you already selected me) was the most genuine first conversation I've had with someone in these leagues and I've been around for a while to have my fair share. You opened my heart initially to Norfolk. Once I finally popped in the LR it was like finding a whole new family I never knew I had. @TMosura, @Jimi64, @SchwarzNarr, @Tesla, @Blasoon, @ConnorM123 you all gave me such a warm welcome and truly made me happy to be in Norfolk. I connected with you all instantly. @negs you came in on fire. One of the most excited people and full of positivity. I love your energy and love you're a GM here now. @Zoone16, @Gbeck765, @Magnet, @Haseo, @oilmandan love being able to have fun with y'all in the LR. Whether we face each other in the ISFL or are paired up again, it's been fun sharing this time with you. @HuddleHussy & @.emfaith amazing waiver adds and incredible energy. I know HH, but it's been great getting to engage with Ems for this short time. Wish both of you the best with your players and your time in the league.

@oilmandan & @HuddleHussy you get special shouts. Y'all are some of my best friends in these leagues and you crazy asses followed me here. It's always fun to be on the same team with you two. It's even more of a testament to how awesome Norfolk has been to trust me, as a new guy, when I recommend they pick you up and they actually do it. It would be my pleasure to continue sharing a team with you in the ISFL, but I know we'll see enough of each other if that doesn't end up happening.

@Swanty you've been a treat to bounce interleague ideas off of and handle everything we discuss with grace, so thank you. As a HO member, all I can ask for is approachability and you have that.

I've enjoyed my scouting discussions with all the ISFL GMs or War Room members, but @TheCC, @.simo, @flyeaglesfly29, @Amidships I loved how well I connected with each of you. When you can turn scouting into genuine conversations it makes the prospect feel even more special and you guys did that.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Faelax - 07-08-2021

I joined the league as an affiliate user back in S25, coming over from the SHL. Since then I have made some good friends in this league.

The first group I ran into first was the Portland Pythons, @RDBSouthPaw was my GM back then and did a such a great job as a DSFL GM. We liked to give him crap for constantly pinging us, but it was really helpful as a reminder to not miss anything. Some other guys I really enjoyed interacting with in Portland were @zeagle1 and @LB3737, both of whom were part of that terrifying Portland defense we had for a couple seasons. That team was so much fun even with our playoff struggles, I am very glad to have been a part of it all.

I was not really surprised to see myself go to the Chicago Butchers in the ISFL draft, considering I knew a huge portion of that team from other sim leagues. Even with that in mind, they welcomed me with open arms and it was a blast to be a part of that locker room. I had some great teammates from other sim leagues there, people like @Bayley @Evok @enigmatic @sve7en and @TheCC . I also got to meet some cool people I hadn't met before like @thundertitan . Chicago has a lot of excellent folks, and are on their way to becoming an excellent team once again.

@sve7en @AgentSmith @FootballIsCool I got you all hooked into this league, and I'm glad I have people to talk to about this league, bounce silly ideas off of, and laugh at Dwights silly photoshop PT submissions with

Lastly I want to give a shoutout to the Austin Copperheads, my new ISFL team. They have been super welcoming to me in my short time there, and I am excited to see what we can do on the field next season!

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Michiganonymous - 07-08-2021

I’ve been a part of the ISFL for a little over a week now, and I’m hooked. And that has everything to do with the community here. Seriously, I’ve been blown away. Every interaction that I’ve witnessed or been a part of has been relentlessly positive, supportive, and helpful. There really is this sense that we’re all here just playing off each other and creating something fun together. Making my player and his wiki page was lots of fun, and I really felt embraced right away. I put up my first media piece yesterday (link for shameless self-promotion), and while I had fun writing and researching it, as soon as I posted it I got the stage fright and I felt certain that no one would like it. Could not have been more wrong! I got kind comments (Thanks @Big Edd, @zeagle1, @"Netlandic", @124715, and all others not mentioned here by name!) and even requests to write similar articles, which I never would have expected. (I’ll try to come through on those!) It was such a great feeling to write something that people legitimately enjoyed reading. I am not by nature a writer, so to have that little bit of inspiration and then see it resonating with other people was awesome. Without the ISFL maybe I never would have experienced that!

The most helpful people so far have been the scouts from the DSFL teams that have reached out to me ahead of the draft. I won’t tag them so I don’t tip any team's draft hand, but those people and the guys I visited with in the Discord locker rooms know who they are. They were all very kind and welcoming, and had great answers to all my questions. And it’s such a cool feeling to be scouted, knowing that people really value who you are and what you can do, and tell you that they want you to be a part of their organization. I’m looking forward to the Prospect Bowl coming up and I hope I give a good account of myself for those teams that will be watching! After that, I can’t wait to hear my name called on draft night, and I can promise that whoever chooses to draft me will not regret it!

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Sonaclov - 07-08-2021

Be prepared,
Thank you all

The ISFL league is new to me. I learned about this league simulation from a reddit post on the Green bay packers page and then I thought to myself, why not. Sounds cool after all. After spending two hours at work (uuuh that's not good) reading the principle of the league, I was quickly invited to join the discords of the various teams. This is where I first met @negs. He immediately welcomed me to the Seawolves. Despite my rotten English, we had a good laugh and chatted for over two hours the first night. I have to say that got me right in the league and I thought, let's have a good time

After asking him lots of questions and thanks to his legendary patience, I was able to discover the fundamentals of the league.
We continued and we still continue to chat regularly every night. I won't say no to getting drafted at The Northfolk Seawolves. The team looks fun.
Then I met @ZootTX and @CalvinGolladay. I unfortunately asked their trend for their NFL team. Supporting the packers, I had a hard time accepting @CalvinGolladaysupporting the Lions but I might have guessed because of his nickname. Having said that, I was greeted as it should be in the respective discords and I got very involved into the draft seducing process. That's when I wanted to get more involved in the game and for that, I thank them.
Finally. I invited my brother to the league @Helcim who always supported me in my crappy ideas of joining new games that we knew nothing about. Thanks again to you!
In the end, I look forward to the draft to know in which club French Fries: https://twitter.com/French_Fries_OL will land.

Be prepared,
Thank you all

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Southie - 07-08-2021

Long before I actually joined the ISFL proper I listened to @Sylphreni 's podcast all the time. So I guess you could say he's the entire reason I joined the ISFL in a roundabot. Honestly, I don't remember  a  ton about my first player T. J  Evans but I do know that the wiki page creation was impossible for me until @White Cornerback helped me on discord. He also gave me a job writing a season review for a team that I can't remember. I also have to shoutout @Frostbite for his incredible fantasy advice because I won back-to-back fantasy groups using his advice. Outside of them, I guess also have to thank @zeagle1 for drafting T.jJ Evans to Portland all the way back in August. It didn't work out and I kind of feel bad for the way I left Portland high and dry but there's not a l ot I can do to fix that now except try to be better in the future. Use it as a growing opprutnity I guess and I think I did  that in TIujana even though that also was a short term relationship. Which brings me to @GuitarMaster116 and @Kotasa who both drafted me to the Luchadores where I won DSFL lineback of the year so that was cool. I really enjoyed my time in Tijuana and I'm glad I was able to contibure to their sucesss even tough we weren't able to  win a championship together, we still made the playoffs so that' something to be proud of as a unit. That's really the lisit of people I think I need to thank except for  @NicholasTheGreat and @UberBJ who picked me up on waivers for the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. Our time together was short but it is apart of Lot Smith VIII's legacy and if he does make a pro bowl or get his jersey retired somewhere  someday, his short  time in Australia will be apart of his history.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - LeatherneckMike - 07-08-2021

Well so far here in the ISFL ive found some pretty cool people and some old friends and guysn ive interacted with but didn't GM or play with in PBE.

@Jimi64 Has been fantastic since I joined. He is the one who approved me and he also created in on the same day, bascially at the sametime. He helped me get started here as I helped him get started there LOL. We both sat around for a while and figured things out using the others expertise in the league they are coming from. So that was honestly quite cool. thanks Jimi and good luck with Donnie in the PBE.

@dogwoodmaple Oh hey look its MY GUY love you dogwood foreva. Dogwood is my guy, oh and btw I was one of only 3 people by my count to get 5 TEP's because I bet with ma boi dogwood and the Silverbacks.

@CalvinGolladay Much like jimi this is another interaction i found quite interesting. When he joined the PBE I scouted him for the Hepcats and quite liked him. I had a 2nd round grade on him. Chicago clearly had a first so I lost out on Golladay whom I liked. Now two seasons later flip the script, Calvin is coming to scout me from Tiuana. I wonder if I will wind up there or not wind up there and make the paralell.

@"simo_393" Also gonna thank Simo here who reached out when he saw I created and I've asked a quesiton or two. Simo is a really good dude and im glad he is someone I can look to in this league as I grow in it. However much that is

Also wanna thank the guys that have scouted me and i have had good conversation with @Hordle @Gragg9 @NicholasTheGreat @katarn22 @zaynzk @negs

Golladay I mentioned above but hey, Whether you guys got the whole, im a GM in another league and know how this scouting stuff works and just got the Answers you needed and left, or we had a long conversation i still appreciate it. There is a week left and every team has gotten to me and that is very good. Nice job DSFL. Invdidually I think ive had good interaction with everyone. Which is nice as a new user. I know there is an awful lot of drama that goes on in ISFL but the DSFL seems a rather healthy place.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Frostbite - 07-08-2021

Gosh I don't even know where to start here. The amount of people that have influenced my time here is insurmountable and probably goes into the hundreds. First off, massive thanks to @Hallmonitor_20 for setting me up to be GM in my DSFL season. While we were not great for the first few seasons there, what I learned while in PB/MB heavily helped my ISFL GMing career, and without you, the Sarasota Sailfish wouldn't even exist. Also massive thanks to Cory for our time together in MB, we would have never won that Ultimini without you helping on the helm. Definitely appreciate our time together greatly. Massive shoutout to the S21 class as a whole, and in particular Jeff, as he gave me the motivation to earn every TPE possible, and he is what led to me breaking the TPE record.

Where do I even start on Sarasota. Easily my best contribution to the league and am most proud of in my ISFL career. Guess I start where it began. @RainDelay you are seriously awesome, and while you are still IA in this league, I'll always remember us spending hours at a time thinking up logos, and future plans. It was truly amazing. I think you'd be very happy to see what SAR has turned into. Secondly, who else but @sakrosankt, the man, the myth, the legend. What you've been able to do as a GM in SAR is truly amazing, and this team would be nothing without you. Easily the best draft steal of all time and my best pick. I also have to shoutout the entire S22 SAR class, as y'all staying active has built this team as to what it is today, as well as all of the members of the S22 SAR squad that fought their way into the playoffs. You all are true legends.

And also a shoutout to all current SAR members, you make this team what it is today, and you all are the reason we have the longest active playoff streak in the league. Love y'all! And then shoutout to anyone not mentioned in this that I've talked to, I appreciate nearly every conversation I have had in this league, and you all rock!
