Prompt Wrote:Your team just experienced a heart-wrenching OT loss to [insert your team's biggest rival in the league]. First off what team would you consider as your team's biggest rival? What's the locker room looking like after that loss? Which player steps up to motivate the rest of the team? How does your player react?

In my feelings, the Outlaws are our current biggest rival right now. We've managed to overcome them at some critical times, but they're clearly a very strong team and the one I'm expecting to need to beat to make it to the Ultimus right now. Maybe they're not our biggest all-time rival, but they're in my mind right now for sure.
That being said, our current team has gone through a tough slog, with years alternating between terrible and great. I think that's given us the mental fortitude to work through that and move on to the next game. Obviously you can't do that if you lost in the playoffs and instead have to move on to next season, but I think our vet crew is experienced enough to help us through that. I've been there as much as anyone else on the team, and I think I can help people work through it. If it's the regular season though, then it's got to be much more about figuring out what went wrong and how to do better next week. Every game matters in trying to win the division, so we have to not let one team beat us in two weeks due to a hangout, and we have to get better. The captains and other experienced players are clearly important to convey that message and to make sure that everyone internalizes it and I think we've managed that fairly decently this year.

It is hard to say who is our biggest rival. A lot of people may say Sarasota since we were part of the same expansion but if you look at success or game results it's pretty clear cut that this is not even like the Vikings Packers rivalry where one team is just much, much better. I'd say recently it comes down a bit to some sort of rivalry against the San Jose Sabercats trying to suck less (or sometimes more for a better draft pick). So this may be a total personal feeling towards a rivalry and the dreams of the fishbowltimus are still somewhat alive but for now let's just say our rival are the Sabercats.

Seeing that we are really, really used to tough losses, especially recently, the mood and feeling in the locker room rarely goes too awry after some of them. Even heartbreakers are just accepted at this point and no one is generally freaking out which says a lot about our locker room culture which I really enjoy a lot. We have our personal hypebeast with Hex Aqua-Key’Kiann who single handedly basically revived our locker room multiple times already and he will make sure that it keeps a general happy and hopeful place after every game - no matter the outcome.

I'm pretty sure there was a really similar prompt to this one last season, but thats ok. We just lost 70-69 in overtime, and everyone in the locker room is devastated. I do not know who the Bondi Beach Buccaneers rival is because we have never been good enough to have any rivals, so I will say every team in the Developmental Simulation Football League is our rival and losing to any of the Developmental Simulation Football League teams would make us equally as angry since we're not as trash this season at the very least. I think my player would not step up because to be entirely honest he is kind of selfish and only cares about his own touches and stats, so as long as he got his he really doesn't care about the locker room, he's just too busy being a famous celebrity to care. Maybe that will be an issue in the International Simulation Football league but for now it is not. In terms of who steps up, i think the veteran QB who is in his last season of eligibility will definitely step up to get the team over our loss. I dont really know his name, I know its Laser but thats about it. Maybe Thor too, but he's kinda bad so maybe no one would listen sadly.

While we haven't had any emotional over time losses as the prompt has suggested, there are definitely some rivalries in the Developmental Simulation Football League. Though over the recent seasons they seem to have mellowed down a lot, it's hard to ever fully move beyond a rivalry that exists within your division, especially when teams have had to coexist in that space over a long period of time. Based on that I'd say that the biggest rival for Bondi Beach Buccaneers is with the Tijuana Luchadores. Having lost both encounters with the Luchadores this season, the Buccaneers appear to be the underdog in that competition at this time. Of course, Ken Oath doesn't get bogged down in petty rivalries and tries to always keep a positive attitude, bringing up his team mates around him at the same time. After a big loss, Ken will usually shout the team dinner and make some grand motivational speech to try and keep the team in high spirits. What he doesn't realise is that not only does most of the team blatantly ignore this, it has frequently become the topic of discussion in the locker room when Ken "talks out his ass" after a loss again. The speech still does it's job, in a weird roundabout way as the team moves on from focusing on the loss, to his speech.

For the grey ducks, the biggest rival is south of the border. Those damn Luchadores. It seems that no matter where the ducks go or how far we fly, they are always right there, standing in our way. The GMs and the coaches tell us that every game is important but underneath their words, we know that they also mean one thing. Beat Tijuana. The Grey Ducks have had their fair share of memorable games with the Luchadores and the rivalry burns strong to this day (Esepcially after that Ultimini performance).

Losing to those Luchadores in overtime is one of the most painful things Mason Malone has ever experienced. It goes around and around in his head, how could he let his team down like that? How could he have dropped those passes? At the end of the day, it is the Quarterback, Oles Jr, that rallies the team to come back tomorrow to training to make sure that sort of feeling, that sort of pain never happens again. He is a great motivator in these times.

I believe that with Honolulu being one of the youngest teams in the league, they have not solidified a rivals. So I made this personal. A team that I thought was gonna draft me but passed me. You always have to create this to have that certain chip on your shoulder. Colorado Yetis! After many talks I thought this would be a spot I landed. Lucky I didn’t know what I didn’t know and lucked out with the best situation possible for me. Honolulu has been nothing but great and I expect some super great things here in the future. But unfortunately there are some growing pains and we have to figure out how to deal with some of these growing pain losses. But right now losses are too tough. I think the built up excitement for the future allows us to know this is just the stuff we have to go through to get to where we need to be. Even an OT loss to Colorado. This one was tough for me personally but it would be great to see the team point out all the positives in the game and say that we are already beating expectations. Honolulu will be a team to watch out for over the next few seasons. It’s a team that has dealt with some of the growing pains and will shine even brighter in the end.
