I wouldn't mind switching positions if the OL position was eliminated. I also don't mind staying an OL if it means I can help the team more.
When reading about the great ideas floating around about OL bots, the only thought that popped into my head that wasn't discussed was establishing a "career guideline" for those OL bots so you get bots with an accumulation of 15 season's worth of tpe. This could have already been discussed at some point, but is just a mundane detail to be considered once a solution is reached.
Ryan Sierra will just be spectating from the cheap seats, waiting for his phone to ring to find out who he'll be playing for.

Would it be too difficult to have some sort of system where an active player actually IS the entire o-line?
they'd create and run the five players and build them the way we build other positions.....there might need to be some kind of tpe scaling for them in terms of earning it, but they'd be able to put together their line for the team and the line would be run and contracted as a single player unit
is that crazy?

Thought of that exact thing, but I think it is a bit too crazy and maybe even unfair. Other positions cant have several people at once, plus it would be a lot more work for the player I think.

Also you run into the quarterback problem. If every team has 1 veteran lineman from S1 or S2 there is no way any new player coming in could find a starting spot for 3 or 4 seasons. And that would require very specific scaling (like 200 + 0.3TPE) because when your lineman does retire your line goes from 5x 1000 TPE guys to 5x 100 TPE guys when you draft his replacement.

I've been aggressively informed that no one gives a single drizzly shit about this specific problem and more sensibly informed (shout outs to whichever Sandoval that was, I don't remember) that there won't be any changing anyone's mind for a number of seasons most likely. Most of the league are still in the "meh you just come in and replace them" mindset because it's only season 3 and they remember all the bots at one point. Most haven't quite realized what adding 15+ people every season means down the line, and haven't quite caught on to the 900 tpe inactive qb/rb/k/etc that can't be moved that IS coming in like 4-6 months real time.
