(S1) - Weekend PT #1 - Trophy Names - Jogn - 06-04-2017 NSFL League Championship Trophy: The Namath Bowl NSFC Champion Trophy: The Jim Plunkett Trophy ASFC Champion Trophy: The Trent Dilfer Trophy It's important to recongnize the awful QBs who will be dragged to a championship by their supporting cast. (S1) - Weekend PT #1 - Trophy Names - PigSnout - 06-04-2017 NSFL League Championship Trophy - Eclipse Trophy NSFC Champion Trophy - Blizzard Cup ASFC Champion Trophy - Drought Cup The names are based on the fact that the NSFC teams are in more cold areas and the ASFC teams are in more dry areas. Eclipse came from the idea that it combines the sun and the moon. If these names are used, the games could use the trophy names (I.e. The Blizzard Bowl, The Drought Bowl, and The Eclipse Bowl) (S1) - Weekend PT #1 - Trophy Names - ADwyer87 - 06-04-2017 NSFL League Championship Trophy - the Prince of Baller Trophy Reason: This is just some clever(at least I think) wordplay. All you hockey fans know that the Eastern Conference champion is awarded the Prince of Wales trophy. Two of the founders of this site are, as you know, princekyle and Ballerstorm. So we mix the names of the founders as well as current sports trophy names, and get this. Not only does it give credit to our founders, but also it implies that the winner is a baller, therefore making it the best option. NSFC Champion Trophy #1 - the John Carver Trophy Reason: I was looking through the names of some of the players and I noticed lots of food names. Baltimore has Bisquiteen Crocker, Yellowknife has Garden, and Colorado has McNoodle, Marmeladov, Teagarden, and Darkapple! This made me think that the name should have something to do with food. So naturally, I went with the man who ran Plymouth, John Carver, the man who famously organized the first thanksgiving. NSFC Champion Trophy #2 - the Ezekeil Bishop Memorial Trophy Named in honor of the Baltimore Hawks player that was the first player to retire in NSFL history ASFC Champion Trophy - the Saguaro Trophy Reason: This one took less work than the other ones. Very simply, all 3 ASFC teams are in very hot weather locations. So why not name the trophy after a type of cactus? (S1) - Weekend PT #1 - Trophy Names - Bushito - 06-04-2017 NSFL League Championship Trophy: The potato cup, who doesn't like potatoes NSFC Champion Trophy: The Peewee Herman Bowl, why not ASFC Champion Trophy: The Richard Simmonds Bowl, Like I said why not, they are famous (S1) - Weekend PT #1 - Trophy Names - RainDelay - 06-04-2017 NSFL - Universal Sim Cup NSFC - National Shield ASFC - American Pennant (S1) - Weekend PT #1 - Trophy Names - mjdharder - 06-04-2017 NSFL League Championship Trophy - The Bert Bell Trophy NSFC Champion Trophy - The Earl "Curly" Lambeau Award ASFC Champion Trophy - The Al Davis Cup These trophies are named after some of the most important people in the founding of professional football. Bert Bell is a former Eagles and Steelers owner and NFL commissioner who oversaw the NFL expansion from a niche hobby to a nationally televised sport. Curly Lambeau is a former Packers player, coach and owner who helped to develop the passing game and regulated, daily practices. Al Davis was a Raiders owner, coach and AFL commissioner who championed the AFL as well as campaigning and fighting for civil rights in the NFL. All three of these men are deserving of championship legacies named after them, as without them we would not be here today playing this sport. |
