RE: (S26) - PT 4 - It could be a bowling alley! - Alucas - 12-26-2020 It being around Christmas time, its not unusual to find packages being delivered on your doorstep, however this time A.J. Lucas had no idea this one was coming. He opened the gift box, a rather small box and found two tickets to a PBE game. The tickets were to a playoff match up between the Boise Raptors and San Antonio Sloths, these were sought after tickets and he knew who had them delivered. It was his brother from the same mother, Andrew Lucas who had just had an allstar level season in the PBE. The tickets were both a kind gesture and motivation for A.J. as despite the fact he was having a terrific season in the DSFL he knew that his brother was having more success on the major level in the PBE and these tickets would be a reminder of that. Of course he would go and support the Raptors but he would also use this as motivation to see how good hard work can enable you to succeed. It was good to know that his family had not forgotten about him since he moved away to Kansas City, it was far from his hometown and he was so busy throughout the year that he barely kept in touch. He would mount the tickets after the game so that he could remember that he was not alone and wanted to strive for success like his brother. It all started with the brainstorming process - we had a few really good ideas being kicked around in terms of what kind of gift we should get him, but none of them felt perfect, and for someone as lovely as r0tz, the gift needed to be perfect. We were starting to feel a tad stumped, but suddenly hope was renewed when @Asked Madden suggested we recreate r0tz's favorite piece of artwork and present it to him as a gift. It all started with a turkey - Madden went to the grocery store and found the biggest turkey he could, and decided the best way to ship the turkey from one continent to the other was via a cardboard box, a cargo ship, and lots of dry ice. When the turkey finally arrived on my doorstep, the game was on - we had to give this turkey functional arms and legs, a face, a long sleeved crop top, and a pair of stylin' shoes, all in less than 24 hours! This was clearly no easy task, and to make matters even more difficult, we had to figure out a way to make it come to life and walk around. This actually ended up being the easy part: as it turns out, if you stuff a bunch of AA batteries into a turkey and then hit it with a defibrillator, it'll come to life for a few hours! Once we had our turkey situation all figured out, all of us packed into the RV that someone left on the side of my house and we were off to hand deliver r0tz's Christmas present to him. R0tz loved his gift, plus we all got to tell Finn he was a good boy - this was the most successful Birddog holiday party yet. ![]() RE: (S26) - PT 4 - It could be a bowling alley! - StevenOSullivan - 12-26-2020 PBE PT RE: (S26) - PT 4 - It could be a bowling alley! - juniped - 12-26-2020 PBE Affiliate http://probaseballexperience.jcink.net/index.php?showtopic=16502&st=90&#entry256306 RE: (S26) - PT 4 - It could be a bowling alley! - Guunar - 12-26-2020 Ace Savage was very happy and surprised to receive a package at his door for Christmas day. He wasn’t expecting it at all and had already finished exchanging gifts with all his family members and friends so it was a big surprise to see a giant box from his Norfolk GMs. It was quite a gift as Ace unwrapped it and found a plain brown box. After opening the box, he found several items that he had been hoping for! First was 3 tubs of the finest maximum protein powder money could buy. Ace had been hitting the gym a lot but was trying to bulk up without sacrificing his speed. Adding some max protein powder to his regiment was going to be key to his success and gains. The second item was a brand-new set of arm sleeves with his name monogrammed. Ace loves monogrammed stuff so this was especially awesome for him. Finally, the last thing was a gift card to all the local Norfolk restaurants. Ace loves eating out and this was a nice gesture that also helped the local community as well. Overall, despite these items being simple gifts, they meant a lot of Ace and he appreciated the forethought of the gifts from his GMs. RE: (S26) - PT 4 - It could be a bowling alley! - Net - 12-26-2020 PBE RE: (S26) - PT 4 - It could be a bowling alley! - Tayjay - 12-26-2020 PBE affiliate RE: (S26) - PT 4 - It could be a bowling alley! - Jimi64 - 12-26-2020 With a knock on the door Jimi DeSoto sprung to his feet. The excitement of Christmas made any package a thrilling event, but this one was unexpected, especially the size. He opened the door to a monstrous mass of wrapping paper surrounding an object about 350 feet long and about 5 stories high. DeSoto shrugged his shoulders and got to work. After a week without sleep, food, or water, the final piece of wrapping paper was taken off, and the gift could be appreciated. It was, of course, a Seawolf-class submarine, the destructive nuclear-powered submarine that is the namesake of the Seawolves mascot! This one was a customized model of course, with “DeSoto” written on the side and his face plastered onto the front of the machine. A tag at the top stated “From your good Seawolf friends, Rusty Rucker, Xmus Flaxon Jaxon-Waxon, and Ananda Adyan! We all pitched in!” How sweet and thoughtful of them! Upon opening the hatch and exploring the submarine, an even greater surprise awaited. Deep within the submarine, while exploring its empty caverns, a small light appeared in the distance. DeSoto approached it slowly, wondering if he was dying. As he got nearer, he noticed the familiar faces of his friends gathered around a poker table. “We’ve been waiting for you pal” said Rusty Rucker, wearing only his signature kilt. “Merry Christmas!” DeSoto smiled as he was dealt his hand. He had already gotten the gifts from most of his teammates in Tijuana as well as some from New Orleans, so he had no idea who this was from. He opened the gift and it was giant inflatable bottle of ranch dressing. What in the world was he supposed to do with a Giant Inflatable Bottle Of Ranch Dressing? Well that is a very solid question. He tried to see if there was anyway to put ranch dressing inside the giant inflatable bottle, however it seem like not. After much work on the bottle, Shuffleboard confirmed that it was just a Giant Inflatable Bottle Of Ranch Dressing, it was not very useful. Then Shuffleboard found a note inside. "Hey Johnny it's Mithrandir your New Orleans GM. I realized that I grabbed you for my team two times. You were great in Tijuana, and I'm very excited to see you in New Orleans in a few season." Now, Johnny was very happy that Mithrandir sent him a gift, it means he is liked. But why a Giant Inflatable Bottle Of Ranch Dressing? Well to Johnny that may never be known. The Giant Inflatable Bottle Of Ranch Dressing is currently in Shuffleboard's living room. Who knows where it may go next. |
