14) Choose a team or player to write about that isn’t your own. What did they do well in the last season? Have they shown any drastic improvements from previous years? What could they do better? 5TPE

The ISFL holds many great players at many positions across the league. You have the max earners that range from first seasons in the DSFL to the tail end of their career as they either position swap or retire early. There is however, one player in particular that I want to talk about today, and that is @’whitecornerback’ s player, Dermot Lavelle Jr. Now many of you newer users who do not venture to the wiki so often may not know of Dermot Lavelle Sr. Who is arguably the greatest player the league has seen given he played in a much different era where players could play two ways. The man put up insane offensive and defensive numbers and is well known throughout the history of the ISFL as the GOAT. I want to talk about his son though, Dermot Lavelle Jr. was and continues to be the second greatest cornerback this season, as he climbs the ladder of all time pass deflections and all-time punt return yards Dermot’s crazy genetics continue to shine through his sons. Even looking at this past season despite people giving him shit Dermot was a leader on a HISTORIC Baltimore Hawks team, and despite mid-season troubles that saw a mass exodus from the team. Dermot was a true leader on and off the field, helping the team achieve history. Some may look at a recent article and see that Dermot Lavelle’s support tackle score was a whopping negative forty-nine, I raise you this could there not be an error in the way support is measured? I choose to subscribe to the idea that opposing quarterbacks merely threw away from Lavelle or that he got a pass defense or interception on any ball that came his way. Realistically Dermot should be the league’s MVP and let us look at the case for it, first off, he was a leader on a defense that was straight up historic at a negative four hundred exactly point differential, Dermot ensured that history would be made anytime his defense was on the field. Secondly Dermot, according to the index on the website did not allow a single catch! Some may argue that the in sim the stats say different but according to the information that is publicly available on our index there is no catches allowed! Finally, he is the GD GOAT!!! People continue to disrespect his name but never have I seen a player get such a contract at his age and according to the argument above play up to it throughout the duration. Even better he just took a paycut so that his team can continue to achieve history next season, what a truly selfless player who puts the team before himself. Vote Dermot for MVP

19) Your player or team made big headlines in the news this week. What did they do, and why did it garner so much attention? 2.5 TPE

Arizona Outlaws made headlines last week after signing free agent cornerback Rich Triplet. Triplet played two seasons for the team’s rival San Jose Sabercats and tested free agency for the first time in his career. Rich is one of the top cornerbacks from the 2041 draft class and teams up with fellow classmate Tayshawn Crunk, in a statement Triplet said that he was ecstatic to take the field with his classmate. “I love Crunk man, he was so good in London at safety and has transitioned to corner really well. I think it showed with how good the defense was last year, I am really happy to join such a great organization and what they’re building here. They were already top of their conference and now they have only gotten better.” Arizona was rumored to be late to the Rich Triplet free agency frenzy but was able to sway the Lavelle Sports Group athlete to sign with the team. This comes off the news that former quarterback and offensive lineman Jay Cue has retired, while Rich will not be blocking for the second year quarterback Cortez, he will be able to lockdown a secondary that was not lacking for talent.

#15 - Another sim league

Yes. I am a part of another sim league. I know. I know. How could I? But It was actually that other sim league that dragged me into International Simulation Football League. That other league is Pro Baseball Experience. Obviously, everyone knows of PBE, there is a lot of crossover between the two leagues. But sadly I must admit that I am more active in Pro Baseball Experience than I am in the International Simulation Football league. Sorry.

Pro Baseball Experience was my first sim league. And at the time of signing up, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. It was December of 2019 and I was looking at PBE as a way to help carry over through the baseball offseason. But it's turned into much more than that. Pro Baseball Experience has really become a part of me.

If you tune into any of the streams my fingerprints will be found all over it. Twitch overlays, HR alerts,  intro/info screens, a few other things here and there. I am involved with the visual aspect of PBE. So that is probably the thing I like the most about PBE. And that's what really keeps me super involved in PBE. Plus all the people that say "WOW THAT'SCOOL" or "LOOKS AMAZING" strokes my ego a bit and makes me want to keep doing it. So I keep doing it. Even tho HG fired me on stream once.

But there are many other things that are really neat about PBE. One thing that is talked about is just how good of a game Out of The Park Baseball is for a sim league. The games are easy to watch and the community makes it a lot of fun to sit there and watch fake baseball and be active be in the Twitch chat (OUT OF THE PARK).

Along with the Out Of The Park sim comes the index page. Man, it is excellent (although the new one for ISFL is also really good now and I like it a lot). the index page covers everything you would really want to know about a particular baseball player or game -- although it can be difficult to navigate at times. But you eventually get over that. Sometimes the index is too much info for me. I am a meat and potatoes baseball fan so the advanced stats sound great but most of the time I don't know what they mean.

10) Describe your player and/or team’s journey through this latest season. What were the highlights? What were the lower points? What might you have done differently? What are your expectations for next season?

This season has been quite frankly a nightmare season for myself and the Baltimore Hawks. With a new fresh sim engine and traits to boot, it looked like we could be a position to compete but as we all know, this wasn't the case. I was unexpectedly called up from the minors a season or two early as the need for linebackers was great. This was both good and bad news, I had really hoped to get another year of development under my belt and push for a high TPE entry into the ISFL itself. I had max earned already for the DSFL and so thought I had a season to earn the money needed for the training to max earn. This didn't happen and as I will discuss, I had a pretty average/bad season. My goal was to aim for rookie of the year contention when I entered the league however this will definitely not happen after my average season. I also have struggled for money in the league, not being any good at doing graphics and not having time for media has left me in a slight predicament. So I have not been able to perform at my peak. I hope to address this in the season to come, but it definitely hurt me and hurt my team. For the next season I will pump out media early and make sure I can get the extra bonus from training/coaching to ensure I am in top shape for our team. In regards to the Hawks as a whole, I believe we started out okay, our team had some great people and it does suck that we lost a bulk of them. Our season was what can only be considered a complete loss as we never recorded a single win. The only bright spot is that we will be in a great place to pick in the draft and the draft class looks like it will have some good players to go with it. We are definitely heading into a complete rebuild and it will be interesting to see how our new managers handle the rebuild, I do have faith that in a couple of seasons we can do better. I am not sure how many more no win seasons I can take before I lose my patience but I know that I need to do my part and develop into a top-tier linebacker so that I can support any new players who come through. My expectations for the next season are we win a couple of games, get back a nice locker room atmosphere and start to begin a new.

16) The bank now accepts ISFL currency in exchange for real money – every ISFL dollar counts as $0.50 in the real world. How much money would you exchange, and what would you spend it on?

The banks announced the incredible news that ISFL currency is now worth half of a USD. Apart from this crashing the markets everywhere and causing mass panic. I have just rechecked my bank account and as of writing this I sit on a small amount of 8 million dollarydoos. I would pull out all of my money, it isn't much but it would make me a millionaire. The US dollar would bounce back eventually and it would leave me in a position to pay off any debt, buy a house and a car and live a life of luxury. I think I would spend it on a normal house to live in and then probably another house somewhere tropical where I could wait out all the nonsense in the world and live in peace. Obviously with the rest I would have to invest it and ensure that I would continue to make money in both the ISFL and real world. I would probably go into real estate or invest in some stocks to see if I could make stonks. The money would be a big life change but I am not ISFL rich, so would not really be real world rich in relativity to someone like Elon Musk.

Ultimus Week PT (400 Words) –

This task is exclusive to non-recreate rookies of the S28 class and later. In 400 words or more, how has your experience been in the league? Who have you met that has made your time here more fun, friendly, and exciting? Have you been satisfied with your player’s early start? What was it like being drafted for the first time? Do you have any comments or suggestions for the entire league that you think should be implemented?

My experience so far in this league has been fantastic. The locker rooms are amazing, the people are super engaged and helpful, and most of all I enjoy the overall atmosphere of the sim. I think it’s interesting coming in to the league just as we transition to a brand new sim – a lot of the time it feels like the league is learning just as quickly as I am what is effective and what isn’t. Just to highlight: a common phrase for Portland is “Speed is King.” The build for an RB typically consisted of maxing out speed as quickly as possible, and that was the plan until about mid way through the season. A breakthrough had been found showing that a combination of Speed, Strength, and Agility turned out to be the most effective build, so we swapped our plan and I started building that way.

The person who was easily the most impactful individual on my development in the league was Southpaw (General Manager for the Portland Pythons). Southpaw showed interest in not just me, but the group of friends that had joined the league at the same time as me. He spent about two hours over discord walking each of us through our player profiles and our Wiki pages making sure we were set up right and that we understood how to properly track our TPE. I can honestly say that without Southpaw I would be a lost, scared little boy. I am sad that he is ultimately dropping out as GM of the Pythons, but I wish him luck in whatever else he does.

I was extremely satisfied with my players start to the sim – I feel like I had some great games to look back on. Remus Roman holds the record for the most yards accrued in a single game on 5 total carries, a game that I THINK will win him the award for best individual performance (and maybe even Rookie of the Year or Running Back of the Year). I can honestly say I expected to do well, but not quite as well as it turned out. Though Portland lost to a few questionable sim moments in the playoffs, I’m really happy with everything I have seen so far and I very much look forward to the continuation when I’m drafted into the ISFL.

The only suggestion I have for the league is to try and make it a bit more approachable for newer players. Without the assistance of SouthPaw, I’m not sure I ever would have found out how to properly manage my player on the Forum. Someone should definitely jump in and create more documentation for how to set up player profiles, create wikis, and get drafted highly. With a bit more of a user friendly environment, I strongly believe we will have less Inactives in the DSFL.

(478 Words)

12) Write a short biography or story about your player. This could include background about how they came to the ISFL and how they’ve done so far, a story about their role in an exciting game, or anything else related to their experience in the league.

Remus is a true “Rags to Riches” story in the DSFL / ISFL, having grown up on the rough streets of Gary, IN, both Roman brothers were longshots to make it to the ISFL from the beginning. Remus lost both parents, his father early in his life, and his mother during his final year of college at Purdue University. Purdue’s victory over the Alabama Crimson Tide in the BCS National Championship game was dedicated to the Roman Brothers’ Mother.

Remus then hit it big in the DSFL draft, being picked up as an early second round pick by the Portland Pythons. Portland turned out to be the perfect environment for Remus to grow and succeed. GM SouthPaw saw something in him that others didn’t, leveraging his high motor and ability to catch the ball, Remus was switched from Safety to Running Back, finishing the one-two punch of the Running Back by Committee offense that Portland ran in Season 27. Remus exploded onto the scene with several impressive gains and a number of staggering long runs, single-handedly carrying the Pythons to victory over the Kansas City Coyotes in the regular season with a stat line of 269 yards and three touchdowns on just FIVE carries. That wouldn’t be the only time that Remus stepped up against the Coyotes though – in the first round of the playoffs, Remus gashed the Coyote defense for 154 yards, unable to reach the endzone en route to a disappointing loss and abrupt end to the Pythons’ season.

Remus’ big games have him in contention for several end of season awards (Rookie of the Year, Running Back of the Year, and Individual Performance of the Year), and have skyrocketed his draft stock ahead of the ISFL draft. All things considered, Season 27 was a fantastic year for Remus and the sky is the limit on his progress at the next level, regardless of the position he ends up playing. Remus hasn’t let it get to his head though, he understands that he is still not playing at the highest level of the game yet, but he looks forward to that challenge. He continues to build and work on his game, listening to advice from his coaches and strength training staff to improve as quickly as possible.

As for Remus personally – both he and his brother are just taking it all in, enjoying every moment of their experience. It was a rough upbringing, but both brothers have finally achieved their life long goals – it’s time for a breath of fresh air before they get back to work for their respective teams in Season 28.

22) Your player has been paid to endorse a product/service. What is it? How do you endorse it?

CEO of Wolf Cola, Frank Reynolds has recently reached out to Tijuana Luchadores Star Safety Lux Opal to inquire about her signing with the company to endorse Fight Milk! Following the loss to the Dallas Birddogs in the Conference Championship Game, Lux was quoted as saying “I want something extra next season. I know we are better than what we showed on the field today. I know I am better than what I showed on the field today! So, I will be exploring options this weekend to see what will put me over the hump of other safeties.” It was said that CEO of Wolf Cola Frank Reynolds and Lux Opal have struck a deal that will provide Lux Opal and the Tijuana Luchadores with an unending supply of Fight Milk! When asked to comment, Lux had this to say, “I have never in my football career taken performance enhancing drugs, however I have used plenty of protein shakes in my day. Fight Milk is by far the best recovery, building and restoring muscle supplement I have ever taken!” Lux has been seen wearing Fight Milk apparel both on the field and off, sporting a trendy new hat with the Fight Milk logo on it! Lux states that she has bought stock with the company and with the way she has been selling Fight Milk, we expect her investment to double!

25)How or where would you celebrate with your teammates after winning an Ultimus or Ultimini?

A Ultimi for the Coyotes was the Ultimate goal, so I am sure the team would definitely want to go out in style. First off we would have to some how commandeer the team jet and get us on a nice weekend trip in Vegas. Nothing says lucky like rolling some dice or doubling down after a huge championship W. I mean it would be a way to get a championship bonus since the league doesnt pay any out. More games, same money ugh. After the trip I would have to get the team to come on down to the house in South Beach, relaxing on the beach after a hard fought season, sipping on Coronas and Mai Tai's all day while watching the waves roll in on the beach is the way to do it. For most of us its the only time we will be a Coyote so its definitely something we would have to remember for all times, for us and for the team.

29) Awards season is upon us. If you could create an award for anything in the league that doesn’t already exist, what would it be? Who do you think should get it?

I feel an award that does not currently exist at least to my knowledge, would be something for best late joiner. Maybe like a "Late to the Party" Award. And it can go to maybe the best waiver or upcoming prospect that get put on the temporary list as almost like a way to boost pre draft stock. It could help some people who may not get noticed noticed. Sure it can have some sort of cut off of sort to say only post Trade Deadline creates can be eligible. But its like a small bragging rights thing for new creates that are temps to compete for in between waiting to be drafted since we don't have a shot at much else. Who should get it why, me of course. Joined late to the coyotes and slotted right into the defense. The team made a solid push to the playoffs and even to the Ultimi, in the short 3 games I was there pre playoffs had multiple tackle games and some key interceptions. You can say it may have been a "tremendous" performance. I dont know it just seems like its a weird way to showcase a single player a bit more than just what a rookie showcase might, maybe add some more intrigue and give value to a new create vs probably getting drafted late because they were behind a recreate who has "cred" with the league.

15) Write about another sim league you are in and which parts of it you enjoy. If you are only in the ISFL, write about your ideas for a sim league with another sport.
Another sim league I am in the Pro Baseball Experience Online which is an offshoot of the well known affiliate the Pro Baseball Experience but instead of controlling a single player it is a GM league where each team is run by 1 person and all the players are computer generated and let me be clear I am absolutely garbage in this league however one of the things I enjoy about it is the random dumb shit that can happen with like retirements and injuries and such like for example early in the league one of our teams lost one of the best prospects in the league because he retired to play golf but I have another example which is closer to home and that is the legendary story of Pedro Mota which is one of the funniest bits of lore in the PBEO universe you see the backstory is that I am a fucking terrible GM there I had never played OOTP outside of PBE when the league started and it was immediately clear I had no idea what I was doing as I decided to go prospects heavy in the inaugural draft thinking they would develop while I learned what I was doing and we would blossom together beautifully in season 3 or 4 or so well spoiler alert that did not happen because I did not realize the prospects in the inaugural draft were apparently fucking terrible and my idea was a bad one so anyway I was shit for like 4 seasons well I did make the playoffs one year so that was fun but I was mostly shit for 4 years and in season 5 the guy I picked in the 46th round of the inaugural finally developed into a good pitcher the first good SP I ever had and he continued being good in seasons 6 and 7 so in the middle of season 7 I signed him to what was a slightly team friendly deal of $119m over 8 years and he was like 29 or 30 at the time so it was sorta long but he'd be worth it if he kept up his recent form for a few more seasons well spoiler alert not only did he not do that he got injured literally the sim I extended him so it is official PBEO lore that he tore his labrum signing that contract and was out for 9 months as a result now some fake news people will try to tell you that he was injured 2 days before he signed the extension but they are lying to you like liars so anyways when he came back the next season he was fucking terrible and his torn labrum sent him from normal to fragile and his ratings tumbled quickly as he was 50 overall with 50 Stuff 60 Movement and 40 Control when he got injured and by the end of Season 8 he was down to 40 overall and now he is 35 overall all because he injured himself signing his fucking signature incredible I hope this story inspires you because Pedro Mota made $17,420,069 each of the last 2 seasons to face 865 batters and perform terribly so now he is probably going to collect the remaining $75m of his contract from the comfort of his couch as I pay him to stay the fuck away from my mound

9) If you could create a team using any active players in the league, what would that team look like? Would you build a group of all-stars to contend in the next Ultimus, or a team full of jokesters for the fun of it? Describe the roster and why you chose the players you did. (5 TPE)

Can I just preference this PT by saying golly what a nice ultimus week prompt; I love the prompts that let me talk about my favorite part of the league - my friends in the league! In this particular team building exercise, I'm not particularly concerned with building an ultimus winning roster (although I'm sure we'll contend), as I've already attempted to do exactly that with some pals in a media series labelled "Project Redraft." Viability of the players will definitely be considered, but my chief concern is picking ISFL friends of mine that would make for a great locker room.

QB - Suleiman Ramza, Blasoon
RB - Zoe Watts, Kyamprac
RB - Raphtalia Chanimelover, Frostsuxlmap
WR - Luca Scabbia, Enigmatic
WR - William Lim, yonggarius
WR - Garfield Despacito, Gwdjohnson
WR - Achtfunf, Simo
TE - Zee Rechs, ZootTX
TE - Heep Ebins, Thor
OL - Simon Tremblay, Briedaqueduc
OL - Marlon Alexander, platanocat
OL - Alexander "Alexander" Alexander, Hordle
OL - Felix Archstone, GlimsTC
OL - Lord Beerus, scorycory

Wow I'm actually incredibly happy with how this offense turned out and I have no doubt this side of the ball would be able to contend for an ultimus no problem. Also I got so many people in the league that I've really enjoyed getting to know over the last several months! I'm a tad bummed that several of my pals weren't included due to spatial constrictions but hopefully they don't take it to heart too much cause I love them. Moving on to the defensive side of the ball - hopefully we can continue building as dominant of a team as we already have to this point.

DL - Tyler Montain, Amidships
DL - Raylan Crowder, Asked Madden
DL - Keʻokeʻo Kāne-Maikaʻi, gucci
DL - Chuck Roth, zeagle1
LB - Guy Fields, r0tzbua
LB - Big Slammu, moonlight
LB - Hank Winchester, timeconsumer
LB - Wasrabi Gleel, crodyman
CB - oh good god I know and love so many CBs in this league shoutout to mori, pat, slate, katarn, swanty, abh, richard leaking, steg, crunk, and many others why are there so many loveable CBs in this league
S - Rob Boberts, zanezk
S - Prince Vegeta, jeffie43

As promised, I think my defense poised to help my entire team seriously contend for an ultimus, but more importantly, good god what an awesome locker room we're gonna have! Just wait until my team of 40 cornerbacks hits the field, the league isn't gonna know what hit them.

What team would be complete without special teamers? For fun -
Kicker - Dallas Dole, dallypole
Punter - Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname, BigKicks
Water Boy - Jim the Vampire, Kyle

20) Pretend injuries are a thing in the ISFL and your team has had a lot of them lately – so many that your GM has asked you to play out of position. What position are they asking you to play and what about your player build will help you succeed in this role? (2.5 TPE)
I think if the Orange County Otters were bit by the ol' injury bug and Richard Leaking had to step up to the plate, there would luckily be a few positions he would be naturally suited toward. As a cornerback, he would obviously be a natural fit in either of the safety roles used on the team. Richard Leaking is a physical cornerback who plays corner the same way Michael Irvin played wide receiver (except with less flags because he pays off the refs but that's a story for a different PT), so I think he would also probably be able to handle some snaps in the linebacker position, especially in the nimble SLB role. Richard Leaking doesn't play defensive line; he does not want to be eaten by offensive linemen.

The prospect of having to play snaps in a position on offense is even more exciting because it's something Richard Leaking has never done before in the ISFL. I think the most natural position for him would probably be running back, because he is fast and strong, but his hands aren't exactly the best, so receiver might not be the best move for him. Tight end could also be a good spot for him - I'm sure he'd have to spend a lot of time working on his footwork and hand placement, because going from cornerback to tight end is damn near a complete opposite, but I hear a smart guy like Leaking can get the job done. Lastly, Richard Leaking could return kicks and punts! Maybe one day, this part of the prompt will actually come true! :eyes:
