Charity is often one of the aspects of the sports world that go unnoticed due to it being off the field and players wanting to do it privately. Since Andy Fantuz has just joined the league he has not had the opportunity to do much charity work but he plans to become heavily involved once he is drafted into the ISFL and becomes rooted in a team and a community. Some of the work that he wants to do includes working with some of the local homeless shelters and inner city kids who are often not given a second opportunity or equal chance of succeeding in life. By working in these areas he hopes to bring some more awareness and future help to these individuals that deserve to have other groups and individuals to provide them with opportunities in life. Another opportunity that intrigues Andy Fantuz in regards to charity work includes working with the league to provide more insight and awareness to mental health and how that can take shape in many different forms and shapes, which should become both normalized and taken after as mental health is arguably one of the most important aspects of health that should be worked on many different levels such as individual, community, and society

PROMPT: As a public figure in one of the sporting world's biggest leagues, you have certain obligations that need to be fulfilled. One of these is committing a certain amount of time to charitable organizations. Which charity would you choose to work with? What would you do for them and what would the desired result be?

Drip Dad, the ultimate team player, wanted to find a way to give back to Colorado and help the community that gave him an ISFL home. Fortunately for him, most of his teammates have already started charitable organizations, and donations of time and money are no problem for Drip! He first spent some time helping new drivers with traffic safety at Albert Ruschmann's "No Need To Rusch" traffic school. Next up, he wanted to help increase knowledge of safe hunting practices with Melvin Murder-Moose and the "Only Murder Moose For Meat" initiative. Next up, he wanted to help more animals by donating a trip to Antarctica for local college students, with Adelie de Pengu and their "Save the Penguins" organization. Finally, as a bit of a fashion icon himself, Drip wanted to team up with his running mate in the Yeti backfield Richard Gilbert and his fashion first charity, correctly named "Those are some Swanky Pants!" Going forward, all Drip wanted to do was a little bit of good, and inspire his teammates to do more for the beautiful Colorado community. He even inspired his QB Matthias Caliban to create "Lasik for Less Interceptions" but we'll see how that works out.

Maui Waialiki is a very kind person, and he has already done tons of volunteer work before he became a famous football player. Being from a relatively poor area in Hawaii, he has seen lots of poverty and unemployment in his area, so he would definitely try to tackle that area in his community. He believes he has an obligation to go help those who don't have the same opportunities as him. As he says "the community made me great, so I'll make the community great". Maui pledged to use 10% of his new contract for strictly helping rebuild high poverty communities near him, opening up institutions to help children especially. Music centers that offer music lessons to kids for free, and also athletic centers that train and give free practices lessons to younger kids, in hopes that they can become specialized in certain things and maybe became a famous person just like Maui. Maui has also pledged to build numerous homeless shelters and soup kitches to make sure there isn't a single homeless person in his city in the streets. He's very involved with the politics of his city and has some very strong opinions on that stuff, so he has expressed an interest to be a politician after his football career ends.

PickSix II believes charity start at home.  As such, he has it written in his contract that he is under no obligations to donate his time to any public events for the duration of his career.  He has no time for the little people and fans as he needs to spend each day training in order to be the best player he can be.  To quote Charles Barkley, 'PickSix II is not a role model'  He is simply a person who plays professional sim football for a living.  If you like him for his skills on the field, great.  If you don't like him off the field, that's fine too.  PickSix II does not care about the fans, he only cares about the gridiron and his teammates.

If PickSix was given money to show up for public events as is befitting someone of his stature, then sure, PickSix II will attend the event and even dance at the request of the people as long as he is getting paid for his time.  Everything in this world costs money, and time, for a young athlete is something they do not have an infinite amount of, and as such, must be compensated fairly.  I mean, he didn't even get asked back to his High School to coach a football game after they fired their head coach.

PickSix II has always been and always will be about himself self.  Charity from within is what he says.

Douglas Quaid is passionate about disaster relief. All across North America there are natural disasters that uproot families and businesses every year. It could be anywhere from tornados, hurricanes, forest fires, or floods. During the offseason Quaid lends a helping hand to charities that spend weeks at a time at an affected location. Quaid is able to help rescue and search efforts as well cleanup with his brute strength. If there’s a mini van, boulder, tree trunk, or steel beam in the way Quaid could move it without the help of machinery. Clean water and food needs to be handed out to citizens as well. Quaid loads up a cube truck full of necessities and distributes them. If the road is out, Quaid gets out and rucks the items to the people in need. When people see Quaid in situations like this it lifts the morale of everyone. Here’s this star millionaire football player helping out in a town that nobody has ever heard of. Quaid’s philosophy is he wouldn’t be in the position that he’s currently in, getting paid millions to play sports, without the support of the common folks. It’s only right to give back any way you can. After natural disasters is when people are in need the most. (212 words)

If I had to pick a charity to work with, I would most likely choose to run with a charity focusing on stem cell research to assist with leukemia in pre-teens. A lot of people don’t realise that something as simple as storing or donating the umbilical cord at birth can have great value should the worst case scenario arise down the line. I’d use my platform within the sport as a way to highlight this, allowing more people to make a decision that they probably aren’t aware they currently have.

How would I bring this issue to the forefront? By whatever means necessary. Logo’s could be placed on equipment, whether it’s helmets or cleats. Events can be attended, from fancy functions and after dinner speeches, all the way through to simple “fun days” where my presence could increase overall attendance. That would ultimately help increase revenue from such events. Then, of course, there is the most obvious way of helping out of all: making a sizable donation. Football players make millions of dollars a season, so making routine six figure donations would surely help out in a number of ways and allow the organisation to focus on progress and the survival of the sickly, rather than the survival of their charity.

David Ramczyk is a major voice in mental health awareness. Mental health effects everyone in one way or another so Ramczyk was excited to be able to work with the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The Lifeline Is a organization that focuses on suicide prevention and awareness. Lifeline has crisis centers all across american and even have a phone number anybody can call if they need help. Ramczyk decided he would partner up with this organization because they do such a fantastic job, and it is such a good cause. People tend to overlook mental health issues in athletes and Ramczyk wants to make sure to get his voice out their to help spread awareness. First Ramczyk would start by giving a donation of his own money and help start a fundraiser for the cause. Ramczyk would also visit some of these crisis centers and thank the heroes of it all the crisis center counselors. Without these people many people would have no one there to talk to or for someone to be there for them.  Ramczyk would give a talk at a convention for Lifeline about his own experiences with mental health and different ways people are able to break the stigma about talking about metal health and break the stigma on athletes with mental health.
