The experiment above was done with TPE levels as they were to start S2, not current TPE levels...

They had a player with 120 bonus TPE at the start of S2 levels (where 120 TPE is a bigger percentage of all TPE on any team than it was at any other point in the season) so it should have a BIGGER impact in this scenario than if I plugged it in with current stats.

I assumed you used current levels, not the start ones. Fair enough. Still, the fact is, what happens in those seasons can be different than this season. And the facts wont change.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. I'm just pointing out that punishment that is brought down on the Hawks is really not fair to their entire team. They likely would have won the games they won regardless of Gibson's TPE.

I think he should be removed from the sim completely for the sake of career stats on other tight ends.

I think any sort of punishment that impacts the Hawks in tie-breakers, future games, etc is also stupid.

Having a single player with 120 extra TPE is not going to make a HUGE difference in the overall record of a team, ESPECIALLY when that player is a tight end.

I have already said it but I think firing the updater is also a stupid thing for a lot of reasons. The punishment should fall exclusively on SexualEarwax, who should just be removed for the remainder of the season.

So you're saying the Hawks should be able to use a 160 TPE player (inadvertantly, i know) and have zero consequences for it? Having a 110 TPE boost made a difference for the Hawks. It only makes sense for other teams to use it as well.

I think Berc said this already, but again, if a player is suspended for failing a piss test for PEDs, the team isn't stripped of wins. The other 31 teams don't get a free pass to 'roid up one of their players for a few weeks.

Step 1) Player is suspended.
Step 2) Carry on.

They're going to lose their starting tight end. When a player gets caught using PEDs in the NFL they don't restart the season.

I saw that he has not claimed anything and replied so I was the last one to touch the updates page. I do that so I know quickly where I left off and so I know that each player is up to date with a quick glance.
I want to attest to Bwestfield being an upstanding updater and always doing his job well.

Wait why is this such a huge deal, remove Gibson from the team for the season and move on.

Put your damn tiki torches down and chill for a bit, jeez.

A single player having extra TPE doesn't change the entire course of a season. Especially a TE in this sim. Tight End in this sim isn't used nearly as often as in the NFL.

He may have posted good stats, but we've also seen several players outplay their TPE level. Who is to say he wouldn't have posted similar stats, even at 50 TPE?

Punishing the Hawks for something that passed by this many people, un-noticed, seems a poor substitute for anything resembling justice.

Suspension/retirement of the player in question is definitely a good idea, but taking down a whole team seems pretty crappy.

This coming from a team that lost to the Hawks by 1 score earlier in the season.

Yeah, it sucks, the Hawks had a guy who was on virtual steroids, but you can't change it now. It is what it is. Suspend the player, but that's all you can really do.

Yeah but the MLB is also imbalanced and terribly run. There are no salary caps so it's already a shitty uneven playing field. The luxury tax isn't effective.

If you are looking for fair and balanced play leading to healthy competition, baseball shouldn't be your poster child. When some roided out crazy dude is hitting more home runs, that sells more jerseys and tickets. It's in their best interest to not punish this shit. This is a bad analogy.
