The aspiring athlete has his or hers grade slipping and the parents come to me? Honolulu's most notorious drunk? Well I guess we know who should have some sense slapped into them, it's definitly the parents in this case.

Cobra Kai takes matters in own hand and takes the athlete on a bar trip across town, each bar they hit they get a couple of Coors Banquets, after all, that is Kai's favorite drink. At the end of the day, Kai still has two games to play versus Arizona and Orange County so he is taking it easy and only visit 75% of the bar's in the region instead of the full tour. Still enough to get completely wasted before the game though, so if Kai plays horribly, here's his excuse.

So after a day with Cobra Kai, expect the athlete to be hungover like never before. We expect that the aspiring athlete knows what is coming after this experience and that being a drunk isn't the best life possible, so he might start focussing on school again to get better grades in case their pro career doesn't work out.

Maybe this was the parents their plan all along? Guess they were smarter as expected, as Kai didn’t see this coming. But atleast he got a nice bar trip out of it.

“What up nephew?” I shout as I walk into my older sister’s house.

My nephew comes running and gives me a big hug. “Uncle Escanor!” he exclaims. “Can we play football in the backyard?” he asks, beaming up at me.

“Well, Hell, that’s actually what I’m here for, neph,” I tell him.

“Hey, language!” I hear from a familiar voice, as my sister wheels around the corner, “but yes, as of right now, no football until you get those grades up, and Uncle Escanor is going to help you.”

“Yep, I heard your grades look like SHI- uhhh, don’t look too good. You know, when I was in high school, I had a 4.0 GPA.”

“You did?” he asks, looking surprised.

“Yep, and I had a 3.97 in college. Had a B+ in one class. Fucking Physics 101 man.”

“LANGUAGE!” my sister yells at me.

“Yeah, yeah, but anyway, I’m going to be helping you out 3 times a week in the afternoons until we get those grades up. And once you’ve got at least a B in everything, your mom will let you play football again,” I lean forward towards him. “And if you make all A’s, I’ll take you to our practices and let you learn from the Birddogs ourselves. How’s that sound?”

The biggest smile I’ve ever seen spreads across his face. “Alright Uncle Escanor! I’m ready.”

The first thing I’d say to my young relative is that having your grades slip is unacceptable. Having your grades slip is a sign of lack of discipline and just not getting done what you have to get done. It also shows a lack of responsibility, regardless of if you’re becoming a pro or not. My father, Marquees Acho, was a successful player in this league and also had various league jobs and was a GM, and those extra opportunities presented themselves because of his responsible work ethic. I took my studies seriously as well, and our cousin. Za’aron Pryor in the PBE. These things matter to most teams, especially if your on the fringe of being pro or not.

Second, I know just how tough it is to become pro. I’ve seen so many great athletes not make it. Your academics are a great fall back in case you just don’t make it, or there’s an injury, and they can also set you up for your post playing career as well if you have one.

“Please, Jason. You have to help him. He wants to be just like you.” The phone call ran through Jason Garciaparra’s head as he flew from Chicago back to Boston to help out his younger cousin who was an aspiring college athlete that desperately was hoping to get his grades up to go to Boston College. The younger cousin had the talent to become a solid tight end wherever he went, but was struggling to match the on field talent for the grades in the classroom so they called the smarter of the Garciaparra siblings in order to help him out. Jason getting back to Boston could not have been better though as the former high school tight end and defensive star was able to prove that success in the classroom is just as important as on the field success. When showing off how to study, Jason made sure to show his younger cousin what opportunities show up with having a higher GPA and began to look through the scouting page made for him back when he was in high school. The amount of offers that were had were awesome, giving the young future star something to look forward to when it came to applying oneself in school. As Jason got ready for the first game of S32, he received a text that the offer from Boston College finally came through.

A relative of mine wants to follow me into playing football you say but has let there learning fall by the wayside, I am assuming it is some sort of great great grandchild? We personally I would use the scare them straight tactic as my 1st means to convince them to change there ways. How would I do this you ask? It is really quite simple. I would use the power of my mind through my vampiric hypnosis abilities to convince them that they were a wash up 33 year old washer boy who failed at his goal of sporting success due to his lack of learning. When he is at his very most point of despair I would then break the spell showing him it was all in his mind. That should sent him back on the straight and narrow, or give him the brain scramblies but either way my job will be done, huzzah.
