I am on the fence about trading cards. I do think under the right circumstances, they could be really cool but only if they don't go overboard. I believe it should be limited to greatest teams in league history, Ultimus and Ultimini champions, hall of famers AND memorable moments in both leagues history. By memorable moments I mean plays that won games, stuff that makes for the greatest stories. Those moments and teams deserved to be remembered in a medium like trading cards.

To give an example of what I am talking about, and not to toot my own horn that much, but the finale game for the Dallas Birddogs against the Kansas City Coyotes. It was a brutal game that determined whether or not the birddogs could make the playoffs. The Birddogs were down a touchdown late in the second half and it looked the game would end in disappointment then Raphael d’Alcott made the game changing interception which turned the tide of the game, allowed Dallas to rally and win the game.

It is moments like that I feel should be immortalized in a trading card format. I figure it similar to what the NFL did with the Top 100 players, plays and games lists that they did a while back. Make them feel special and they market themselves

Personally I have bought a number of dots packs already and am very excited by The cards I have already got and for the ones  That I am desperate to collect. There is only one collection of cards that I am aiming to get through dots,  And that is collecting every single Austin copperhead card in the collection now Austin being a new a team there are at least fuel cards than some of the original teams however this is still quite a lofty goal considering. Of course the card I want most of all is my own card hopefully when trading becomes available this will help me both get my own card and get help me get as many Austin cards as humanly possible. Other than collecting Austin cards I am not sure what are the collections I would like to make, certainly getting a number of award cards, Ultimus cards or Hof fame cards would be great but they are tough to find and as my funds are limited i may have to just stick to find Austin cards and calling it a day there. Perhaps using packs of cards as competition prizes or awards or have free giveaways would be excellent way to promote them further.

The trading card experience is one that does not really interest me, mostly as it are virtual cards and the money is also used for stuff like equipment and weekly training. Next to that, as a new member in the league I don’t know any of the players (current or historic ones), so why would I collect pictures of them. I do understand that they can be fun to collect. But it might be a good suggestion to also introduce something like a ‘loyalty card’, that for every pack that you buy you also get a set amount of loyalty points which can be spend in the shop for either new packs, or a specific card (like the one of your own player). This way you can always work towards something even if your pulls are below average. And the best part is, you can always guarantee yourself in acquiring your own cards, no matter how long it takes.

In the end I would probably still end up buying my own card if it was owned by someone else and hope for a cheap deal, but this system could trigger more people to actually wanting to buy the trading cards. Hope you all liked my idea. Goodluck with getting the sales numbers up.

I mean, there are many, many presets of what to do with trading cards. You would not have to look further than the video games which provide ultimate team trading cards (FIFA, Madden and other cash milking machines).
I think this site has potential for much more than a "team of the week" though (although that would also be pretty cool). I think we should create cards for significant events outside of the sim. I mean, Media articles or analysis threads which had a significant impact on this league's everday order. Let it be Derred De Ville's (aka exil's) effort of creating a website / a point task bot for the discord. People made bank bots for discord. Not to forget the whole "Sim decompiled" series. I think we should get some attention to these things more, maybe a rare card series with the user instead of their player.
It would also be cool if GM cards would find their way into dotts. I mean, GMs already have likenesses so it should be easy to do.
Stats for the dotts cards would also be great, you could sum one's season up in stats.

And... last but not least, how about making an actual card game out of it? Might be a bit work but, boy, that would be great.

I’ve not yet taken a good look at the Dotts cards on offer; I simply haven’t had the time this week yet due to other commitments.  But trading cards is something I’ve enjoyed in the past so there is no reason why it can’t be the same with these.  What I would say though is that everyone is different.  Some folks like to collect as much as they can, others may target a few positions, or a particular team.  It can often be frustrating when you’re chasing down those final few cards to complete a set you’re working towards – or perhaps find that one rare card you’re really after.  It would be great to have the ability to almost gamble away some of your cards for a chance to roll the dice, for a chance for that one card you’re after to come your way.  Now I guess this couldn’t be a 1:1 trade or else you’d see that be the only thing people wanted to do.  But perhaps offering up three or even five cards, for the chance to get a card you crave, I’d see that as worth it.  So for example, I’m after pulling together all the elite WRs.  I offer up three of my less desirable cards in exchange for a guaranteed WR card.  May be the one I want, may not be.  Could also work with teams as folks look to complete the rosters.  Just my thoughts – happy playing!

As the person behind the website I can tell you right away that there are a ton of changes coming. Some current priorities are adding the ability to trade cards, fixing the lack of safari/chrome support in terms of web browsers, and adding a whole new version of the website that is more visually pleasing to the eye.

Personally I think the biggest issue facing Dotts right now is the lack of safari and google chrome support. Most Mac users don't download a different browser than Safari and also 50% of users are browsing the internet with Google Chrome. That's a lot of people who are being inconvenienced by this lack of safari and chrome support.

The other issue that effects me personally is that the cost of a pack is very high. I don't have the money to spend on packs instead of training. I would really like to see the price of packs come down to maybe 250k or even 100k. That said, I definitely don't want the packs to be free. I think having some value attached to them inherently gives opening a pack a bit more excitement.

I'm really happy with how the launch has gone, with 50+ paying for packs each day so far you can tell that people are really enjoying this. But Dotts can also has a lot of room for improvement and we'll definitely continue kicking away at it until Dotts is not just something to help set the ISFL apart from the rest of the sim leagues, but truly something to be proud of too.

Hello Dotts motherfuckers. Consider this a hit piece towards you and your pack system. I have ventured onto Edge, grueling myself through the shit browser to your shit website to open some shit packs. All I get in these packs are pure garbage. I had one good pack in the beginning of my Dotts venture, I got two awards cards, but after that it has been pure shit through and through and I am fucking pissed. I want my good cards, specifically, I want my Marquise Brown cards. I've seen the hall of fame variant of Brown and I think it looks pretty cool but I have yet to see the fucking all-pro card and I am pissed. Absolutely nobody and I mean Nobody has drawn it and it makes absolutely no sense, as I continue to get countless dick fucking cheese cards from the Philadelphia Liberty. Nobody wants these cards. We want the best cards and I NEED  to see Brown in an all-pro card. If you don't send me both of Marquise Brown's cards then I will have to get involved. And nobody wants to see what happens when I get involved. You have a week, Dotts. I will be awaiting your response.

Since there are two prompts here, I'm going to go half-half and write a little bit on each - As far as the trading cards go, it's not something that I'm partaking in since I'm a little broke boi, but I've loved seeing all the excitement around them and I think it's super cool. One cool feature would be if the packs included a stale ass old piece of bubble gum occasionally. Caltroit or mithrandir will send you one stale ass old piece of bubble gum to your mailing address for you to enjoy along with every ten (10) packs purchased. Another cool feature would be gif cards (idk if anyone has suggested this yet, it's a pretty basic idea so i'm sure someone in this PT has if not someone elsewhere) where it's a super rare version of the card that has a moving image on the front instead of the regular still image. As for the second prompt - as a way to take money out of circulation and increase the importance of contracts/free agency, I think it would be cool if each team paid me some money out of their budget. I wouldn't provide any service to the teams beyond thanking them upon deposit of payment, but this would result in an effectively lowered cap for teams and thus less money to throw around and thus more player movement. I would also have money to afford equipment which would be really nice.
