I like the new sim so far. It def has some new flavor to the games and honestly they have been more exciting. I like that time outs are actually used correctly so you do have a chance at doing a 2 minute drill and getting a score. The DPI penalties need to be reworked as the offense will accept the penalty even if they complete the pass for a big gain (rip sailfish). That is the only egregious thing I have noticed in the new sim. I like the look of it so far and the flow of the game. I am a little concerned about the lack of stats for safeties and defensive tackles. It seems like they are lucky to get much of anything in the new sim if they are not playing nickel or linebacker. I do like that there are more formations and teams can all have a unique playstyle that fits their teams strengths rather than in 16 where everyone basically did all the same things on offense and defense. I haven't seen any obvious metas outside of people favoring speed arch over others. All in all I am very excited for my recreate. I honestly was losing my interest in this league a bit but with the addition of traits in the new sim I am very eager to have a player from start to finish in the new sim. The sim team did a great job with this. HO also handled the transition great. Hopefully we can continue tweaking it to our needs and continue to grow the league.

As the first handful of weeks have come and gone, I’ve really enjoyed the locker room of the Pythons. We have been reasonably successful on the field as a team and hope to continue that path throughout the season. One thing I’ve really noticed though is that individually my player has been struggling to show up in a game at all. With that said, I will continue to max earn my way to hopefully showing my face in the stat sheets in some form of a meaningful way.

Our general managers have been amazing to work with in developing our knowledge and systems to continue to be successful. I couldn’t have asked for a better spot to land and really think I will be a facet of this league for seasons to come. I’m very excited about the rest of the S27 DSFL season and am anxiously awaiting the ISFL draft process. I have yet to have much interaction with any of the ISFL teams but it’s something I look forward to as well.

In conclusion, the ISFL has been a very positive experience for me and the friends that I’ve joined with. It’s honestly something we look forward to each week and really push each other to do cool shit. Hopefully we can really be key figures for our teams going forward into this season and beyond.

So, this point task is gonna be very similar to the one i did during the beginning point task last season. Why I say it would be similar is because last season I wrote my point task on how my player was just playing awfully at the start of the season, and well... I can’t say my player is doing much better now. His first game, he got 0 tackles. Zip. Nothing. Nada. 0 tackles is not ideal for the first week. I’ve managed to get more than 0 tackles in the next couple weeks, which is an improvement, but still not ideal. The issue is i’m a DT, which doesn’t commonly get nearly as many stats. My hypothesis might be that as a defensive tackle, my job is to take up blockers, which allows other defensive players to sack the quarterback, but I don’t know if the sim actually does that sort of thing. On a separate note, the new sim looks very good. The games are a little long, but all in all i like it. Hopefully my player does better, but I guess we’ll have to see what the future holds for Marlon Brando. I do believe in him to get at least one sack by the end of the season though.

First Impressions are the team from Hawaii is here for real! last season was an absolute fluke and all the nay sayers are getting shown the door. We are a good team that got constantly and consistently screwed by the sim last season. Am I saying the Sim team is partaking of collusion of the most gravest means? No. But I'm not not saying that.
Many people started off by saying things such as Honalulu is just getting lucky, the games are close and it's pure sim luck. These are the same people who last season were bashing the build of the team, saying mis steps were made, and that in their infinite wisdom Honalulu should have opened up their franchise tanking.

I don't actually read anything or pay attention to media, so please send all complaints to LatinViking.

Now the changes to the builds. I like it, immediately it seems like there is a lot more choice and player ownership. Players can build how they want and have fun with it, I think that's great! I am worried that a few seasons in there are going to be well known specific builds to follow, however what is the point in crying over unsplit milk? If something were to happen, I'm sure smarter people than me are able to weather that storm and bring us through it safely.

Let's leave with some final words. My pancakes are up, and my touchdowns are up. Good sim engine imo. More points for the people.

Well, as this is my first ever week in the league I don't have the experience to make much of a comparison. But it's been a long time since Pete last visited this time period. Almost 25 years in fact so there is a lot to catch up on in that sense. And he has never played American football before. He barely even knows the rules. He spent a lot of his earlier days playing Aussie rules and Rugby on the streets of Brown Town so at least that has some parables. So far he is at least enjoying the season and he does watch the games streams whenever he has time to spare for preparing for his skitz secret mission. He is fairly happy with how the season has gone so far as he has absolutely no prior information on the team or how well they were expected to do. As far as his own performance so far it’s been alright. Pete is slowly getting a hang of the game and is starting to understand his role on the team and how to succeed. You can’t expect a time traveling Australian to just step into the league and do well on his first outing.

I have very mixed feelings about the new sim. I was excited for the switch to DDSPF21, but it's not lived up to the expectations I had. It's just as broken as 16, but in different ways. To start with the streams itself, streams are now a lot longer due to the way games are presented in DDSPF21 and the long waits after certain plays (such as sacks). I used to watch every game, as streams tended to be around 35-40 minutes long. Now, with streams lasting over an hour, it's hard to commit to watching more than just the Orange County games. It doesn't help that the streams air at 1am in my timezone, and so I have to make a decision based on where Orange County is in the running order as to whether I stay up to watch OCO, or get up earlier the next morning to watch. I think the sim itself is pretty broken, as I mentioned above, and this is impacting my enjoyment of the streams. For context, S26's top passer (by yards) Mike Boss Jr. finished the season with 4898 passing yards and the top receiver finished with 1622 yards. These are realistic totals compared with the NFL. In the first season with the new sim, we're on pace for a 5,692 yard passer and a 2,332 yard receiver. That's not a typo.

Five receivers are on pace to break into the top 10 individual receiving seasons ever, and the over-the-top Madden-on-arcade-mode nature of the games we've seen so far is killing the immersion for me and making me enjoy watching streams less than I have done. (274 words)

Holy offensive explosion batman. We are on pace to absolutely and utterly shatter offensive records this season. My guess based on a brief bit of watching the new sims and an extensive history of delving into the old sim is that the weight of the ball is significantly lighter. While that sounds kind of like a joke, having the ball in your hand meant you ran slower and slower over the course of a play. Now, that doesn’t really seem to be a thing anymore. This could be considered good, the max rush in the ISFL for a non QB (note this I’ll come back to it in a minute) was about 30 yards. That’s unrealistic for the NFL which is ultimately what we are trying to replicate here. But, 21 RBs having rushes for longer than 30 yards 4 games into the season is just as realistic, and those numbers are going to skyrocket as the season goes on. YPC is also off the charts. The last time people were complaining about crazy YPC numbers and long, seemingly unstoppable runs, was when QBs had 79 speed. Fun fact about QBs in DDSPF 16, they were the only position whose speed wasn’t affected by carrying the ball. Which is why 79 speed QBs were *so* OP. Yes, 79 speed was their top speed but they were also faster than all other offensive ballcarriers. Now everyone is that speed. If you thought just not being able to stop the QB when they ran was bad, get ready for that being the case for every offensive player.
