The stand out player for the Tijuana Luchadores for me this season is In Active.  Active leads the team in tackles, leads the team in TFLs, and is second on the team for sacks. While IsHe… ReallyInvisible has been the clear leader on offense as both the quarterback and the rushing touchdowns leader on the team, it hasn’t really been our offense taking us to wins. Frankly, the offense as a whole has kind of under performed this season. I will grant the defense hasn’t been stellar either, particularly in week 2 against London and week 4 against Minnesota, but overall I think it’s the defense that has gotten us most of our wins. Week 1 we won in a 10-9 nail biter of a game which is a wild football score by the way. Week 3 we held Bondi Beach to 17 points and got the win over them. The defense has been keeping games a lot tighter in general, with respectively 14-13 and 27-24 games. For that reason, I’m picking the defensive leader for the team as my standout. In 7 games In Active has also yet to miss a tackle. When he gets to the ballcarrier, he puts them on the ground. I think that’s why he’s leading the team in tackles and TFLs.

If you have been following the Grey Ducks at all, you should already know we are doing really well… to say the least! And in all our success, the most successful Grey Duck of all has been none other than our stand our running back, John Huntsman! I can say with the utmost certainty that he is the front runner for the DSFL league MVP right now. Just 7 weeks in, he leads the league in rushing with 992 yards and 9 touchdowns. That is 200+ yards and 2 TDs over second place and nearly double that over third. What is even better than a projected 2000-yard season, is that he broke the single game rushing record since the new sim! …Twice!! Once for 200 yards then the very next game, he turned around and ran for 201 just to flex and prove he was that good.

Now all that in itself is impressive, but to do it all on this stacked team is even moreso because he is not even taking away opportunities from the other offensive players. The quarterback Oles had a record passing TD game with 5 and our rookie receiver Mason Malone is on pace for Offensive Rookie of the Year as well! I just hope his production continues because while regular season performances are fun, I would much rather have the Ultimini title than the rushing record. In the meantime, go Huntsman!

RE: (S29) PT 3 - Teammates - Oles - 06-13-2021

There are two teammates of Kaz Oles that have really stood out this season. Both of them are players who he has a good connection with, Mason Malone and Vincent Sharpei JR. Malone and Sharpei are both rookies who have done really well so far in the season, players taken early in the most recent draft that were expected to contribute and have contributed more than anyone could have expected. Minnesota revamped their wide receiver group in the draft, Huntsman was expected to do well, and the team expected to run through him, and while he has been a major part of the team, the offense has really taken off with these wide receivers and the ability for the team to throw and run the ball. Sharpei and Malone will surely be in the race for rookie of the year, and both will have cases for the best wide receiver award as well.  There are many players who have done well for the Grey Ducks so far this season, as they have been the best team in the league by a pretty large margin, and both Malone and Sharpei have exceeded all expectations so far in the season as they have helped the Ducks have the best offense in the DSFL. Painted has made some serious claims this season about how good his player is. I’m reality the only claim to fame he’s got is his draft round, and even that wasn’t super impressive (I mean who honestly watches past the first round). His player hasn’t even played in all the games most of the time he’s a benchwarmer and a bad one at that. He does have his shining moments of “you missed that field goal” or “kick no good” but excuse me at least I’m playing. At least he will have a new novel coming out soon called: Benchwarming; a memoir about mediocre draft picks. The movie will come out later this fall but go straight to streaming services since it will only show him sitting on a bench. It’s why at fan events there’s no photos of him standing with children and adults. They have to sit since that is his main position. Who wouldn’t love a signed photo of a benchwarmer.

But we can appreciate the moral support he has for his teammates. He does show up to all the games and tries his best to keep the hype rolling. RIP painted. You tried your best to do good. We appreciate it.

Without a doubt the biggest standout player for the Colorado Yeti is a new addition to the team, and at the same time an old face: Bubba Thumper. Most people in a sim league forget the value that a wizened voice, a football sage if you will, can have on the entire team, and Bubba has been just that for a young and upcoming Yeti team on their way to a prospective playoff berth. His voice has been one of unwavering discipline and resolve throughout the ups and downs of a long ISFL season, and it’s shown up in the results the team has managed to produce.

Alongside the veteran presence in the locker room, Bubba has shown up on the field in several key moments for the Yeti showing a resolve and readiness for the big moment you don’t get in a younger player. Indeed a late 4th quarter sack by Bubba in the recent Yellowknife game proved to be a vital play for the Yeti defense in slowing down the Wraiths offensive juggernaut. Safe to say in the weeks to come, the Yeti will require this veteran presence to make a deep playoff push as they hope to this season, much to look forward to!

Welcome to Lucid’s London appreciation post; At the halfway point of this Season I wanted to take a moment and give a nod to @SaviorHawkins. He has been instrumental in maintaining a strong defensive presence after losing Glenn Smart, Willie Miller, and C.J. Sonjack to call ups this last season. It is also very clear that he is the early standout for London’s Defensive Captain position if he stays down another season. On the field Hawkins has been a true difference maker racking up three game balls through the first seven weeks. Currently leading the league in Pass Deflections and tied in first for forced fumbles, if the season ended today he would not only be my selection for Defensive Rookie of the year but would have to be in the conversation for the best Defender of the year. Off the field Hawkins has been fantastic partnering with Netflix to document the highs and the lows of his first season in the DSFL. His media contributions aside from entertaining are a great promotional tool for not just The Royals but the entire DSFL. Gearing up for this next scouting season in the ISFL I expect Hawkins to go early. Piece of advice to any General Managers that happen to read this add this man to your draft board and mark him high you will not be disappointed in the solid player and teammate you’re adding to your culture. Great Work Savior Hawkins keep it up and let’s bring another Championship to London.

The Minnesota Grey Ducks are chocked full of great teammates on the game field and users in the locker room. The standouts have been plentiful and I could talk about many, but I will use this platform to talk about our two rookies. One on the offensive side of the ball and one on the defensive side of the ball.

LaCarpetron Dukemarriot is a rookie linebacker who has been in the middle of some key plays in his first half season of DSFL football. He has recorded 38 tackles and his two sacks have come at the most needed time. He also has a big time interception under his belt and will continue to be a key part in the best defense in the DSFL.

Seven of the top receivers in the DSFL this year are rookies (and one bot). The Minnesota Grey Ducks have been blessed with the best of that bunch: Mason Malone. Malone has quickly become the go-to target for vet QB Kazimir Oles Jr. and racked up the second-most receiving yards by any player this season. Malone has pulled down 39 catches for a whopping 656 yards and 6 touchdowns. He should continue to be one of the best wideouts in DSFL football until he is drafted and called up.

This shouldn't come as any surprise, but the teammate I have that is doing a fantastic job this season is perennial MVP candidate, Tatsu Nakamura. Tatsu has come out this season on another absolute tear, managing to ironically put up video game numbers while competing with another running back for carries. In ten games so far this season, he is averaging over 100 yards per carry, once again has double digit touchdowns, and has amazingly not fumbled one time. Nakamura has been an invaluable part of all the success the Outlaws have found the last few seasons, and he is proving his incredible worth to the team once again. He has also managed to go for almost 300 yards through the air, averaging over ten yards per reception and tacking on another touchdown. If he continues on this pace, he could seemingly amass over 1600 yards on the ground and go for over 2000 all purpose yards, which is absolutely mind-boggling. This puts him in the thick of not only the running back of the year race, but also in the discussion for league MVP again. He's clearly one of the best players in the league, not just at his position, and it is an absolute honor to be his teammate.

It is hard to just call out one player on the Philadelphia Liberty as there are a ton of players who are giving it their all and really contributing to the team.

I think I have to split it between offense and defense as it was just too hard to really pick one person, but it was hard to figure out that it was two rookies who were really shining this year.

On offense I have to give a shout out to Lonnie Jackson. He is splitting carries with Anders Christiansen, and they are basically even on the stat sheet. He is closing in on 500 rushing yards and has 5 rushing touchdowns. He has also benefited the receiving game, he’s on his way to 100 yards receiving which is always an added benefit for a running back. He has been a great 1-2 combo with Christiansen and the Philly backfield is set for long time.

On defense we have rookie Xavier Walls, the man is a tackling machine this year. He is currently ranked third in overall tackles at 71. He also is getting through opposing offensive lines with 5 tackles for losses and 3 sacks. If you add the 2 interceptions the guy is having a great season. He is the number choice for Defensive Rookie of the Year right now.

RE: (S29) PT 3 - Teammates - Starboy - 06-13-2021

This season has been a bit of an interesting one with plenty of struggles around the normal team building in Kansas City. Usually, the run game is the focus and there is not a lot of standouts in the receiving game. However, the future wide receiver of the year Troy Abed has proven himself as a change in what a DSFL team can do. There are not always a lot of wide receivers that have the ability for a record breaking game just in their pocket, but Troy always has that around him. He has amazing skill on the field that is evident whenever he has the ball and takes the ball fifty yards just to mess with a defense and flip the field. It makes the receiving game in Kansas City an entirely different animal to other teams as there always remains a secret weapon that Gimmy Jr can throw to. Not only is Troy good on the field, but many can tell you that he is just as good off the field. Troy constantly remains as one of the great people in the league that always is willing to help out and work harder to make sure people around him also succeed.
