RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - LimJahey - 07-09-2021

There are so many people and users in this league that I am thankful to have interacted with on any level. When I frist joined the league, besides @iamslm22 being the first user to introduce me, @HalfEatenOnionBagel was the first user I got any interaction with, as he had commented on my first create's post. HEOB is one of my favorite users, always letting us know when a game is about to happen and getting us as HYPED UP AS POSSIBLE BROTHER. My time in this league would not be as fun if we didn't share the same team. I want to apologize to whoever the Portland Pythons GM was at the time, but I never joined your discord, cause I was still super new to the league and didn't understand anything.

I would be absolutely remissed with myself if I didn't thank either of the two GM's who took a chance on me in the S22 draft. @Bayley and @Muford. They were the keys to get me as interested in the league as I am. Bayley has shown time and time again through his amazing character how wonderful of a GM and a friend he truly is, and Muford with his rough edges has been nothing but a joy to interact with in the locker room, or on the rare occasion we hop on some games.

My S22 brothers, @TheCC, @IthicaHawk, @indonesianhusker, you guys have been nothing but incredible to share a locker room with. While husker has moved on, it was always a joy getting to interact with you, and man it was so much fun seeing all of the dope shit that Hawk has done, from working on satellites to stories about his travels, if you ever have a chance to interact with him, make sure you grab some popcorn.

TheCC has been maybe my favorite user in the league, and while the entire league does poke fun at you a lot, you take it in stride every time. This league would not be as enjoyable if you were not here, you've been a joy to go ghost hunting with, and I wish nothing but the best for you truly. Also a great GM too.

@Evok I know you don't spend a lot of time on the ISFL, but you have been my favorite GM in any league. You have been fantastic to interact with, and have enjoyed every interaction we've had. Sorry Boris died on you.

@RenoJacksonHS You came in on my second ISFL season and took my job, but you have been nothing but enjoyable to be around. You've been awesome in the locker room, and have been my longest tenured grader, I couldn't thank you enough for all of the hard work and time you've put into the league and your league job.

@caltroit_red_flames You gave me a chance at a league job, and eventually, I grew into the job you held. You provided so much knowledge and advice for me, and I can't thank you enough for it.

I would like to thank @bex and @iStegosauruz for taking a chance on me as a gfx head, thank you for the opportunity to contribute something to the league.

I can't forget all of the graders, past and present who have been incredible to work alongside. @OrbitingDeath, @zaynzk, @ZootTX, @DonnoMania, @Lime, @Thor, @rapideagle, @ValorX77, @King Jellyfish, @noanic, @ReverendOReily, @TMosura, @Gumbaman, @sve7en, and @Cheech65. You guys have all been amazing to work along.

I would also like to thank @Nokazoa, you've been a fantastic help around the gfx discord, and have given me useful advice when needed as well.

The final user I'd like to spotlight is @mithrandir. Thank you so much for involving me with Dotts, it has been the highlight of my time in the league, and it is an absolute privilege to work along side you and all of the dotts team.

There are so many other users I am thankful to have either played with, or interacted with, @Maglubiyet, @enigmatic, @Aenir, @Buttersqauch101, @ThunderTitan82, @KenitohMenara, @DarknessRising, @Laser, @ConnorM123. All of you have been incredible to either interact with, work along with, or share a locker room/team with. You guys help make this league as great as it is.

There are so many other users that contribute to this league and it's greatness, so for all of you who dedicate your time and effort to this league that I haven't mentioned, Thank You.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Revolution5 - 07-09-2021

First experiences in the league were my fellow season 18 rookies which were a group to set the league ablaze. Our draft chat and rookie discord I could not thank you guys more for making the league great to step right into.

Dulio and Shady I have to thank for providing  the first great experience on being apart of a team. The inclusive nature of the locker room, going above and beyond for game days and helping with all our newbie questions. You guys gave me the foundation of the sim which helped me immensely in the future.

Woelkers my brother from another mother. In response to your kind words I have to say that we direct message as much as my best friend from high school (which isn’t much compared to your other friends but to me that’s top tier. That’s the type level we are on.

Dewalt! From fantasy football, to ultimate frisbee its been a blast to get to know you. Love what you’ve done as a GM and can’t wait to join you one day.

Spec thanks for taking me under your ISFL wing. Your selflessness is infectious and I am forever greatful.

Laser, at a point there during our GM parenter  I was chatting with you more than my actual life partner my wife. Even though we couldn’t pull out the big one together I look back fondly on our time together.

Jeffie… RIP, Blasoon and Mori. I couldn’t have OCO would  in any better hands after I left. Your personalities and varied interests are a great combination to lead this team and create a great locker room.

The risk channel in OCO. I think that is the second most viewed channel in discord that I check even though I don’t play. You guys have provided great chats, funny jokes and most importantly meme’s during the back stabbing.

Well I certainly can’t limit this to just one person, so I’m gonna list a whole bunch of people in chronological order. When I first started out in the league, the biggest help was without a doubt @SchwarzNarr. They are incredibly helpful and kind to everyone, and they’re probably my favorite person in the league. Schwarz is just really cool. When I got to the DSFL I was drafted to the Bondi Beach Buccaneers under the NTG regime, and he has helped me out a ton. Being my GM for a couple seasons, I talked with him regularly about how the team was doing, and a conversation with him made me understand my purpose in the league. Then, I went to the ISFL. Drafted to the New York Silverbacks, @zaynzk was always going to be a presence in the locker room, being a GM and all, but he went beyond simply talking in the LR sometimes. He messaged me a ton about how my update threads were looking, new point tasks, whether or not I actually had submitted enough words for a specific point task and so on. He has been a tremendous help to me, especially in my last DSFL year. I feel like I have a stronger bond with teammates in New York than I did with the teammates in Bondi Beach (me trying to fix my attitude probably has something to do with that). So I’m going to list some of my favorite teammates from New York, though I love all of them! @TeyonSchavari has been my running back mentor since entering the league, and he’s been a treat. Always supportive in the locker room, and he doesn’t even care that I steal his touchdowns! @woelkers has been great to talk to as well! Even though he was never a teammate of mine he was a GM of New York for a little bit when I was drafted and he’s still active in LR so I decided to place him here. I don’t want this post just to be me repeating myself, but here we are! Woelkers, like everyone else I’ve mentioned, is cool. He’s been incredibly supportive of me and played a key part in me becoming a better user (I also got that sweet recruitment TPE from him!). So I think that will about wrap this up. If I forgot to mention anybody, it’s because so many people have been so kind throughout my journey in the league and I can’t thank them enough for it. So for all the rookie mentors, my teammates in Bondi beach and my teammates in New York, thank you. I would not be where I am today without each and every one of you.

The worst part of these kinds of things is I'm going to forget people, so if you're part of a group I mention and I forget you, I deeply apologize.

I've been in the ISFL for over a year, but in that time I haven't really been active in the ISFL community for my whole career, but one of the biggest things I've been apart of is the old Games/Among Us Server that was initially started by @Tylus. Now over the course of the severs duration it kind of died out and people stopped getting on it at much, but I still enjoyed the time I hade with the regulars there and sadly don't talk to much anymore. People like @qWest, @Rusfan, @Jo3fish5, @DeadlyPlayer, @, @Cynoblaze, @ReverendOReily, @xenosthelegend, and @katarn22 among (all pun intended) others.

From that server emerged a group of people that I still basically talk to daily, and honestly they're probably a big reason I've stayed active deep into my player's regression. People like @SabaDonutMan, @zaynzk, @BenDover, @Frostbite, @charlit, @Big Edd, @Daybe, @UpperNet, @roastfuego, and probably the most valuable member of the group, catstonks. The days we play random bullshit is probably up there on my fondest memory of this league, and even though the talking will most likely dry out eventually, I'm just happy to have found some sort of group in this league.

There are a bunch of other people I could thank and talk about, specifically career wise, but I think, since my career's coming close to an end, I should probably save some of that stuff for my retirement post. I'll end this by saying I'm glad I randomly found this league from a random youtube recommendation, and I look forward to see what my next year in the league has to offer, hopefully with more interactions with people within the community.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - StevenOSullivan - 07-10-2021

In my time with the Sarasota Sailfish, I had the pleasure of getting to know some really cool guys. First I want to highlight the main guy @sakrosankt who was the GM of that team when I was drafted and we are bizarrely from the same country! It was awesome to connect with someone else from here and have that connection for the team. Another person I talked to was @Frostbite who was actually the guy who scouted me for the Sailfish in the first place. Some of my teammates and others were so nice to be interviewed by me. I really remember the interview I did with @Raven who was really engaging and gave me a great interview. I really loved my time with that team and will look back on it fondly, even if I have a new chapter in my career now.

I was traded a couple days ago and I was welcomed in a big fashion. I woke up to 23 new pms that day! The GM @zaynzk was really welcoming and made me feel wanted and at home right away. @TheRocheLimit the other GM was also really welcoming and also guys like @Void_DCXI and @overdoo who also just got traded here.

Whenever I have questions about my player or anything else I usually just ask @JuOSu and she will often help me with how things work or what I should do. It makes it particularly easy when you can just go to another room to get some help, especially from someone who knows much more than I do.

I hope that I can get to know some players on my new team even better and maybe I can bring back my interview series so that I can earn some money for training again. Now I suddenly have a lot of new teammates who might want to be interviewed!

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - huck24 - 07-10-2021

I'm going to go right back to the start of my career.  When I created my player, I did it while the current season of the DSFL was still going on.  I did not know this was an option, but I got signed the next day to the Dallas Birddogs.  I had been expecting to not have a team or anything to do until the draft, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found out I was on a team already.  I had a great time meeting the Birddogs and got to know about the league which was great, but my biggest help during this time was from @Kyamprac and it was so helpful!  I had a lot of question and Kya was always there to answer them.  Even after the season ended and I wasn't part of Dallas anymore, I still bugged Kya with questions and she was always there to help.  So, thank you once again Kya! The next shout out I wanted to make was to @slothfacekilla, Sloth and I were teammates in the SHL and when I was asking about joining the ISFL, he was the one who pointed me in the right direction.  When I got drafted to the Tijuana Luchadores I found out that Sloth was a big reason for that, which in turn led me to being drafted by the New Orleans Second Line and allowed me to be able to be Sloth's teammate again which is something that will always make me happy!  Sloth, you rock and it's been fun getting to share a locker room with you basically since I started doing this sim thing.  And one last shout out, to the best scouting experience I've ever had, everyone that reached out during both drafts was amazing and I really had some great conversations and learned a lot that has helped me every step of the way in the ISFL, but @Jangorhino, we clicked immediately and I really enjoyed our chat and hope you are doing well my friend!

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - g2019 - 07-10-2021

As I read through these posts, it's great to see the lasting impact that users have had on each other. However, unlike most of the users that have posted thus far, I am a brand new to this league and awaiting my first DSFL draft. Even with that being the case, I am already amazed at the welcoming and diverse community of users we have in this league, and I'd love to thank everyone, even if I don't mention you specifically, for making the league what it is.

First of all, a big thank you to my fellow rookies and the rookie mentors/veterans in the discord. You've been so incredibly helpful and quick to respond and have made sure that I have never felt like my question was a dumb or obvious one. Specifically, I want to highlight @SchwarzNarr, who always is on the spot with quick and precise answers and does an awesome job of making everyone feel welcome. My fellow educator, I appreciate you! Fellow rookies that I've really grown to enjoy and appreciate include @HalfEatenOnionBagel, @"Netlandic", @SnowyWolfz, @TubaMasterFlex @captjanko and @Sonaclov - thanks for being part of this crazy ride we are all about to go on!

Next, thank you to the scouts and GMs who have taken the time to have some awesome and helpful conversations with me. I've really enjoyed the scouting process, and I'm thrilled to see where I end up so I can join one of your teams. @negs @Gbeck765@katarn22@CalvinGolladay@IceBear32 CJY @NicholasTheGreat@Dallypole

Lastly, a shout out to some cool people I've chatted with in the various discord servers or who have reached out that don't fall in to the groups above. @"simo_393" @MMFLEX and @IsaStarcrossed...thanks for the convos and chats!

Again, big shouts to all, even if not mentioned directly, for all you do for the league. I'm very excited to remain an active user in this league and I hope that we all continue to have a lot of fun!

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Sebster - 07-10-2021

First I would like to thank @slate and @katarn22 , my DSFL GMs. I couldn’t tell you how many stupid questions I must have asked since I joined since I did not understand a lick of what was going on. I still don’t understand anything about the ISFL, but I didn’t then either. Slate and Katarn were so wholesome and nice and went above and beyond to integrate me into the league and the London locker room. I know @Luciddreams702 is going to do a fantastic job of taking over for Slate, too. London is in great hands.

Next I want to give a quick shoutout to @Ace , he made my time in London extra enjoyable. #TwinTerrors forever baby.

Onto San Jose, @Matty7478 and @ckroyal92 have been amazing so far as GMs and I think we are getting closer and closer to an Ultimus every season.

Finally, I want to give a huge thank you to @Maglubiyet . If it wasn’t for Mag I would not be in the league today. I’m not going to go back in my DMs and look, but I kind of just created here on a whim. I think I saw a post in r/nfl about the league and made a character, but then forgot about it. I woke up to a discord DM from Mag one day saying that London had drafted me. I originally planned on stopping in the discord, seeing what all this was about, then just ignoring everything. A couple months later, I am in the London WR, the San Jose WR, and hold two league jobs. I wouldn’t trade it for the world and Mag is the reason I got to meet so many awesome people like everyone that I have mentioned above, the awesome people in London (!s28), the fantastic users in San Jose, all the greats on the Recruitment team, and my new found home on the Dotts team.

Thanks man for the @. We'll do it !

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Mojojojo - 07-10-2021

So I tagged a lot of people in my original reply to the positivity thread (thank you again @WildfireMicro for starting this amazing trend), so for this PT I want to do something a bit different. I want to thank a few more users who I maybe haven’t reacted with as often, but who have helped me find really special moments in this league. So here it goes.

@Tesla your amazing game highlights for the DSFL made it clear from the start of joining the league that people really cared about the community. I enjoyed reading the recaps, especially early on as I was still getting used to watching the sim and following along with what was happening. Then I had the absolute pleasure to be hired to the media grading team and to talk with you there. You were always so helpful, answering questions as they arose, and kind. Above all, I want to thank you for always making sure that, no matter the speed of the conversation, everyone participating is heard.

Following Tesla, I want to thank a few more amazing women in this league who have volunteered countless hours to making this league a better place. @bex, @SchwarzNarr and @Kyamprac, thank you all for welcoming me to the ISFL girl gang and for paving the way for me in league management.

Shoutouts to @Blasoon and @Tomasnz for being the two users to whom I first accidentally doxxed myself and for not making me regret it.
  • During my scouting conversation with Blasoon, we were just having such a nice discussion on league-life balance and found out that we were both finishing up with graduate school. I ended up sharing so many details about my Ph.D. research that I’m pretty sure any quick Google search would tell you who I am.
  • Tomasnz, I accidentally followed your player with my real twitter account (stupid mobile) and it was one of the most happy mistakes/coincidences that I have experienced thus far in the league. Not only were you really chill about it and let me know so that I could correct my mistake, we learned that we work in the same professional field and have been able to share ideas and resources since. Yay transportation planning/engineering!

On a related note, @King Jellyfish I love your enthusiasm for transportation and I am always happy to lend you any professional support that I can. Never hesitate to reach out to me if you have questions.

@katarn22 you are definitely one of the nicest users in this league and you are the first that I have been able to meet in person. It was such a pleasure to have you and your wife visit and I hope we can get together again soon!
