I would consider the Outlaws to be the Butcher's fiercest rival, I just think they both wield bladed weapons (at least in my mind) so that is what spurs the rivalry.

I'd like to think O'Donnell steps up and says a few words being the QB and the leader of the offense to try to get the team back into a better mindset.  The Butchers lost a lot of their veteran leaders this past year with Tree and Fjord calling it quits so the room is full of younger guys and rookies.

PickSix II as always would just tune out anything being said, he's doing his job on the field, 3rd in PD's tied for 4 in INTs, Best CB stat wise in his conference, lock for the ProBowl.  I mean if he's doing his job, why can't the rest of the team do theirs and figure things out?

Midway through O'Donnell's speech and the rest of the team's attempt to rally the troops as it were, PickSix II would simply get up and walk out and go home and prepare for the next game, like he always does.  Those speeches are for the rookies and the players who are fighting for spots on the team.  PickSix II is having a breakout year entering his prime and is on pace to be a superstar.  Speeches aren't for him, he knows his job and he does it every week.

Riverdale High School was the last team I played for because I faked an injury and couldn't handle the pressure of playing in college. My senior year we went undefeated thanks to me though, so there was no heart-wrenching loss on the field. I did lose the game against hunger, though. I was so hungry by the end of the big championship game that I wanted to eat three cheese burgers. No, scratch that. I wanted to eat two cheese burgers and a mcchicken. You know what would have even better than that? Taking the mcchicken out of it's own bun and putting it in between two burgers to make a burger mchicken burger sandwhich. Man, that was a heart-wrenching loss that I didn't think of that before. Now I'm cold inside. It's also cold outside. When we get cold inside, is that our body's way of telling us that we need to warm up  both metaphorically and literally? All I know is when others are down, I have to be there to pick them back up. My best friend Abed has never really been into sports, but that doesn't mean I'm not there for him. He processes things different, you know? Like he can see things that others can, sort of like he has invisibility glasses on. I asked him one time if I could borrow his invisibility glasses to lecture so I could check out the girls down the hall, but he told me it wouldn't work like I thought it was. He's so smart. I bet if he put his mind to it, he could play football at the professional level. I would be willing to play football too if it meant it was something we could do together. Once he gets out of the dreamatorium, I'm gonna tell him my great idea.

Wow, I can't believe we lost that game. I thought we had it in the bag but the Birddogs just came out of nowhere to tie it up and eventually take it in overtime. While I don't think the Birddogs are a team wide rival I believe they are my biggest rival just because of how bad their name is and how they are in the easy conference this season and have found themselves at the top of their division.
Our teams biggest rival would probably have to be Minnesota with just how successful they seem to be each and every season and we always seem to have tight matchups against such a great team that ultimately has fueled a little bit of a rivalry. After such a gut wrenching loss I imagine the locker room would be pretty somber for at least a little bit but the good thing about football is that you very quickly have to shift your mindset onto next week and leave such a tight game in the dust for at least now until you end up looking at the film for what you could've done better in that game specifically. I'd like to believe that some of the veteran leadership on this DSFL squad would step and try to change the mood and atmosphere which most definitely includes Andy Fantuz as this team this season has been much different than last as we just haven't been able to find consistent success on the field but with a rookie quarterback it's expected to have a few down moments.

So, the first question is figuring out who exactly our rivals are. I guess if I had to choose maybe Sarasota? It’s hard to tell because I’m somewhat unsure of the history of the Berlin Fire Salamanders, but just looking at the season rn, it’s either the Sarasota Sailfish or the Yellowknife Wraiths, and because I know more people from the Sailfish, it would be more fun for me if we were rivals with them. Okay onto the tough loss. After a tough loss to the stinky fishes, I think the man to step up for us would be Nick Kaepercolin. Not only is he the leader of our team (as in the QB, not the captain i don’t think), but he also is our GM, and therefore is the one that kinda controls the team as well. I guess it’s an odd situation because in real life the GM wouldn’t play for the team (unless you are the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the early 1900’s). So yeah, I think Kaep would be the one to talk to our team after a tough loss and try and get us fired up. Hell, i don’t even think that’s a hypothetical, i’m pretty sure he already does that

This season, the Butchers have experienced ample heart-breaking losses, so dealing with more has been pretty easy this season. But fortunately, our biggest rival has to be Philadelphia Liberty and we managed to sweep them this season. Of course, this begs the question, why are the Taco Bells our rival?? The answer is simple:
https://c.tenor.com/M5eui_cSgFAAAAAd/dave-chapelle-chapelle-show.gif
But if you want a real answer, its because they are the team who’s progress closely resembles our own. They are down at the bottom with us, and have drafted some great users such as Negs, Walls, and Dreams. But that’s all the more reason to hate em! They also passed over Soulja who still holds that grudge.
Now the biggest loss this season had to be the one that came in week 12, when the Butchers lost to the Canadian Skeletons. The Wraiths have been quite dominant in the past few seasons, but they have surely hit their downfall this season. Most of their roster is quite old and retiring. Soulja also had some very disappointing talks with the team during the draft process and he has yet to let that go. So when he got just his second ISFL int against them it felt heavenly and therapeutic. But alas in the final moments of the 4th quarter, Yellow Knight came our victorious.

The team dealt with it quite well though. We kept our heads up high since we knew the season was a wash anyway. Plus, we could take solace in knowing we beat them once before this season in Week 6. On to next season! We will be fierce then!

Sailfish just experienced a heart-wrenching OT loss to Berlin Fire Salamanders. Berlin Fire ranks the first in the conference and Sailfish ranks the second. However, since we beat Fire at the beginning of the season, and we lost to them by only 20-21 in an away game in the second round, we believed in our win in our home court. The game was, as expected, very difficult. Both teams had an amazing defense, and after the first half, the scores were only 5-6, where Sailfish was leading by one. In the second half, both teams got better offense - Berlin got one touchdown in the third quarter and Sailfish got a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Sailfish got an interesting conversion through the TD, so OT starts. During the OT, both teams had great defense again, and we were just fighting around the middle line. It was a bit unlucky that Sailfish lost to Berlin by a kick. Since Berlin is the best team in the conference, and a tough game was totally expected. My teammates still kept their minds after the game. We kept our manner and congratulated Berlin's wins. With two games in the regular season, we know our largest rivals better. We accumulated knowledge, and are ready to beat them in the playoffs.

My team’s (KCC’s) biggest rival is the Portland Pythons most likely. The reason for this is that the Kansas City Coyotes and the Portland Pythons are the farthest west teams in their conference, and they play a lot of close games.

After a loss to Portland, the locker room is upset and very quiet in particular. There’s a lot of tension and disappointment in the air, every teammate can sense it. The coaching staff explains the miscues that occurred, which were very significant in the loss.

Despite the unfortunate result with the rivalry loss, Tessie Garciaparra steps up and makes a team announcement in front of everyone, including the offense, defense, special teams, and coaching staff. Garciaparra takes command of everyone’s attention as he inspires the team through explaining we all need to work harder and we didn’t do enough. Most of all, Garciaparra reminds the team that the season isn’t over and there will be more opportunities.

Will Stern reacts to the speech by nodding his head in the crowd and agreeing. Stern and most of the rest of the team clap during the pauses and give a loud applause at the end. Stern ends up meeting up with Garciaparra after the announcement and thanks him for taking the time to say that stuff, which was much needed for the team to improve and learn.

Being new to the league, rivals come few and far between for myself but the one team that does get under my skin and the teams skin are the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. A team that we have had two close games with but should have been two easy wins. This team always finds a way to get under our skins pre game and during the actual game with playing way better than they should against us. In this heart-wrenching loss, our captain Sconnie really keeps the positivity going with lots of different jokes post game, even going as far as making fun of the coaching staff and GM. At the end of the day it gives the team some smiles knowing the coaching staff is willing to keep it light hearted even through a close one.

In my opinion, the one the steps it up the most that I keep an eye on in the team is Fries, no matter how the game is going, he will throw his body on the line for you whether it is a late minute block to win you the game or win at the line by helping the run game, this guy is always locked in. When the team sees this, they are motivated to put in whatever energy they may have left and put whatever they can into the game. Sometimes this even translates into practices so it really helps the team improve on a daily basis which helps our future success and team chemistry.
