RE: (S32) PT 2 - Overreactions - Beck - 11-19-2021 Our season to this point has been absolutely phenomenal. My first few years in the league, including dsfl, I did not have much success team wise. Obviously things changed last season during our championship season. This season, we picked up right where we left off. Through the first 7 games of the year, we have already won 6 games and only lost 1. This puts us at the top of our conference and in a great spot to potentially repeat a post season appearance. My player Sal Ami is coming off of a pro bowl season. To beg the year, Sal was getting some good statistics. However as the games have progressed, the stats have not been there quite as much. Sal is on pace for less yards and Receptions than a year ago. This can be attributed to us having a new wide receiver, Sam the Onion Man. Sam has dominated and so Sal is happy to lose his target share to such a great player and user. Currently we have one of the best offenses in the entire league scoring 231 points our defense has kept things pedestrian at only allowing 158 points compare to the top defense in the league he's only given up 139 points. and that goes to Honolulu. is my belief that if we keep playing at this rate an level we will definitely find ourselves again in the playoffs and hopefully representing the ASFC and the championship. When it comes to my player through seven games, I've already doubled my tackle production from last season an am at half the amount of sacks from last season with two and so I still have a lot of room for growth and improvement to keep helping this defense stay solid and helped lead this defense to a championship. I foresee this team doing well enough to make the playoffs and making yet another serious run at a championship. I sure hope we can get our hands one before our team starts to have to rebuild Code: 209 RE: (S32) PT 2 - Overreactions - HalfEatenOnionBagel - 11-20-2021 Considering how the Sabercats have performed in recent seasons, I would say the team is doing pretty well so far. We're winning every other game so if that trend holds, well watch out cause 8-8 here we come. Jokes aside though, that would be an improvement over last season of course and a trend in the right direction. When I was drafted a few seasons ago, Sabercats were one of the worst teams in the league so seeing us actually starting to put things together so early in my career has me excited to be with this team for the long haul. We'll see if we can maybe finally string a few wins together in the back half of the season. As far as my own individual performance though, yikes. I'm a rookie so you can't expect much, but it's almost like I'm not on the field some games. I know that with 3 other linebackers ahead of me on the depth chart it would be harder to get snaps but I was definitely hoping that I'd be doing more even in a limited role. But so far through 7 games I've had 10 tackles and no sacks. I mean back in the DSFL that was sometimes my statline from just one game. I'm definitely not upset, I know my time will come. I just wish I was making more of an impact for the team when we're starting to play better. RE: (S32) PT 2 - Overreactions - visceralpotamus - 11-20-2021 The hawks season started off on fire, but we are currently on a bit of a cold streak, including a rough loss to the wraith. The good news is that in most cases are going toe to toe with the big boys of the league and losing out in the end. Our high powered offence typically drives our success, especially our RB duo. The best tight end on our team Lenard Graf is having a very strong season and is in my opinion the best tight end on the team. That said, our defence has put together some pretty impressive stops, especially when the game is on the line. My own player has done quite well to start the season, tallying 3 interceptions, tied for 2nd in the league. Not bad for a former offensive lineman. The boys are hungry and will be sure to turn it around and go on a run. Look out for the ascending hawks, especially in our sleek colour rush digs :eyes: RE: (S32) PT 2 - Overreactions - Kyle - 11-20-2021 WSBL welfare RE: (S32) PT 2 - Overreactions - PigSnout - 11-20-2021 The Yeti are off to a pretty good start so far this season. They are 4-3 after their first 7 games, which puts them #3 in the NSFC standings. They are currently 1 game back from the Berlin Fire Salamanders and the Philadelphia Liberty, the two teams tied for #1 in the conference, and are 1 game ahead of the Sarasota Sailfish, the team in the current #4 spot who will be trying to overtake them for a playoff spot. The Yeti could just as easily move up to a 1st round playoff bye as they could fail out of the playoffs altogether. However, I think that they will trend towards the first option. They Yeti have one of the most talented rosters in the league as they rank #1 in Average Effective TPE. I think this talent is a good sign that the Yeti will perform better in the long run and I think that by the end of the season, the Yeti will have a chance to contend for the #1 seed in the NSFC and a first round playoff bye. In terms of my individual player, Mattathias Caliban has done pretty well so far as well. Caliban leads the league in passing yards and is tied for the league lead in passing touchdowns. Though a large part of this is due to volume as Caliban leads the league in passing attempts, but he has maintained efficiency as well as he ranks #4 in passer rating despite his heavy workload. Caliban probably won't reach the efficiency levels necessary to compete for another MVP this season, but I think he will have a strong season and can compete for a Pro Bowl spot. I also think the team will do well and that Caliban may have the chance to compete for his first Ultimus Championship this season as well. I was really hoping for a rebound season for Cortez after he mostly fell on his face last season, and it certainly didn't look like that would happen after the first few games. You can definitely tell that Charlemagne is on the downward slide of his career, having won the MVP two seasons ago by throwing over 40 touchdowns. After throwing four picks to begin the season with no scores, I was about ready to call it quits right then and there. However, since that point, Cortez has thrown six TDs without a singular interception. I'm not ready to call it a comeback just yet, but hopefully this thing is getting ready to turn itself around. I'll say it here for the first time publicly: this is going to be Charlemagne Cortez's final season under center for the Outlaws. I'm hoping to go out on a bang and at least make the Hall of Fame committee think twice about my resume. Code: 172 words |
