RE: (S24) - PT 2 - Rising Stocks - 124715 - 08-20-2020 The Philly stonks are in the dumpster and nobody knows why. Everything is terrible. Philadelphia has burned down multiple times, or so I'm told. My persona non grata status prevents me from entering the city, where I'm told the Sam Torenson for mayor campaign has rapidly taken a horrible nose dive, with poll numbers plunging from 44% to a miserable 2% (which coincidentally happens to be the chance of the Liberty going 0-6). Torenson's campaign manager, Fuzzy Dotson, is also not allowed into the city which makes it difficult for either Dotson or Torenson to resurrect their campaign. Brock Phoenix, too, is having trouble. After the first game, the city he'd spend his entire career trying to win over after taking over for Adriana Falconi quickly turned on him. On the first day after the game he went to eat his customary cheesesteak and was pelted with batteries. Not being able to eat the cheesesteak made him play worse and then it was even more difficult to get the cheesesteak next week. Dissatisfaction with the team led to the city rioting and burning down. Richard D'Attoria V was injured in a riot because he was too old to run out of the way. Please send help, my stonks are dead and I can not get cheesesteaks Quote:216 RE: (S24) - PT 2 - Rising Stocks - GoonerBear - 08-20-2020 PBE PT RE: (S24) - PT 2 - Rising Stocks - Gravtx - 08-21-2020 The rising value of Clay Stallworth and Felix Archstone. Offensive line is not a glorious position, which is why I choose to highlight it whenever possible. Felix. Archstone and Clay Stallworth of the Kansas City Coyotes are two players with rising stock despite the dropping value of their team. Through four weeks, neither player has allowed a sack. And they also combine for the highest number of combined pancakes between any two teammates in the DSFL. Kansas City has had a great offense the last few weeks, being the second highest scoring in the DSFL. Of course great performances have been had by the offensive skill players, but without good offensive line play their abilities would be for naught. Unfortunately for Archstone and Stallworth, lackluster defensive play has led to a 1-3 record for the Coyotes through 4 weeks. Furthermore, Stallworth is currently on pace to break the near 20 year old record for pancakes in a season in the DSFL. The record is 66, set by B. Brisket, a Kansas City Coyote himself. Through 4 weeks, Stallworth is at 21, putting him on track for 73 pancakes by the end of this season. Being a 5th round pick, I am sure quite a few teams with offensive line troubles are frustrated they missed on Stallworth. Unfortunately for Stallworth and Archstone, this stellar play likely means that when (not if) they make the jump to the ISFL, their dynamic duo will have to be separated. After being so close to a playoff berth in season twenty three where they were left devastated after results in week sixteen didn’t go their way, there was hope and dreams in the locker room. The players on the team and the fans in the stand were all hopeful for season twenty four, the youth brigade that Arizona is extremely proud of kept improving and were starting to approach the prime of their career. The team was ready to move forward and be better and push for making the playoffs as the team is improving. However the first six weeks of the season haven’t gone to plan, the Arizona Outlaws have only won two of their first six games leaving them at the bottom of the American Simulation Football Conference standings. They have defeated the Austin Copperheads and San Jose Sabercats at home, while losing to the Honolulu Hahalua at home. They have also lost all three of their road games this season losing to the New Orleans Second Line, the Orange County Otters and the Yellowknife Wraiths. While their position is lower then the expectations from both players and fans, there is still plenty of time left to over come this deficit. Back in S23, London finished with the 2nd worst passing defense. And when the callup lists came down, they found out they would be losing 3 of their 4 max TPE DBs (Bob, Sly, Crooks). As the S24 draft rolled around, it was clearly a position of need. But other than the drafting of Safety Tayshawn Crunk in the second round, the Royals waited until their final 2 picks to draft CB Gavin Leclerc and S Steven Wadham. The outlook wasn't looking strong for a better year in the secondary. However, a plan was set in motion. Star DE Harrison Andrews, fresh from being picked 4th overall by Sarasota, changed his position to instantly give London a maxed CB that they desperately needed. Additionally, 4th round pickup Swantavius Jones was also switched to CB, meaning London suddenly had a quality DB stable. With 2 max CBs on the outside and Crunk and Jones providing two high TPE pieces, along with active and improving Leclerc and Wadham rotating in and out, London suddenly looked fearsome. It was a bold strategy by the London management, but would it pay off? As we say over this side of the pond, the proof is in the pudding. Fast forward 4 weeks into the season and the London Royals have allowed an average of 106 passing yards per game and have not yet conceded a passing touchdown. The most yards they've allowed in one game is 115, which is lower than the average of second placed Norfolk (119). While the wins, and the respect, haven't yet followed, the outlook is looking good for a rapidly improving London secondary. RE: (S24) - PT 2 - Rising Stocks - Blasoon - 08-21-2020 The focus of this point task will be the Sarasota Sailfish, and how their stocks have risen exponentially since the start of the season. The main crutch of this focus will be looking at "How the Hell did the Sailfish go Undefeated for Six Weeks!?". After an eight win, eight loss season, heading into only their third season, I doubt many of the pundit analysts would have foreseen Sarasota as the front runner in the league. When looking further into their players over this season, the astounding thing to note is that they do not have a singular player who one would consider a gamechanger. Dexter Banks has shown flashes of greatness, but has not carried the team, Fon Dillmiballs and HaHa Mango-Panda have both had two interceptions on the season, but have not yet cemented themselves as an elite defence, and running back Dax Frostbite, since returning from his Japanese excursion and rechristening himself as Raphtalia Chan, has yet to have the breakout that was expected. However, these Sailfish from the Keys have displayed an immense amount of team chemistry over the past six weeks. Their upsets are starting to fade away and become expected results, and that is why the Sarasota Sailfish have the highest rising stock in the International Simulation Football League right now. Code: 217 Words RE: (S24) - PT 2 - Rising Stocks - Shiznit19 - 08-21-2020 So far in Season 24, the Austin Copperheads stock has seen a rather unexpected fall given where many thought the team would be at this point in the season. Coming off of a Ultimus loss, many knew the team had the returning talent alone to get there once again. Last season, the team would finish the season by stringing together what many still call today one of the miraculous Ultimus playoff runs anyone has ever seen. A number of investors thought there would be no way possible that the team would falter in the beginning of the season like they have done for the past few seasons. However, here they are again, sitting with a 2-4 record when they could easily be a 10 win minimal team. For the savvy investors out there who time it right, the Copperheads should payoff very nicely. It is uncertain if they can keep having these end of the season runs in their bag but with the number of returning players from last year, it seems like they have it in them. The trick in this, like everything, is making sure that the timing is right on when you go all in. I think around week 10 or so should be a pretty good jumping off point. Once this team gets their back against the wall that is when things tend to turn around. |
