RE: (S24) - PT 3 - Midseason Mania - Aenir - 08-28-2020 One player on Chicago that I think could breakout for an award would be our great Linebacker, Mike Hockhertz. He has always been known to be a tackling machine, and even as he continues to get up there in age he hasn’t slowed down. Rgith now, he is two tackles behind the league leader in tackles, sitting at a cool 83 in 9 games. On top of that, he has one sack, one interception, and three pass deflections. If nothing else, Mike Hockhertz could be in the running for Linebacker of the year because he does all of the little things that you do not even realize. Yeah, we can look at some of his other stats, like he has no tackles for loss, or forced fumbles, or fumble recoveries, but in yet another down season for The Chicago Butchers, Mike Hockhertz has been a golden apple. He has continued to show on the field why he deserves to be on a winning team, and one thing that we would have to go back and track, is how many of those tackles were touchdown saving tackles? How many of those tackles shut down a drive? I think tackles are under appreciated and need to be looked on with a new light, as tackles are a golden stat for linebackers. 219 words RE: (S24) - PT 3 - Midseason Mania - BRNXB0MBERS - 08-28-2020 The Arizona Outlaws recently implemented several internal team awards. One of those awards is Team Goofball. This award has a clear front runner in Saba Donut. Let’s take a look at why. 1. He loves Whoopee cushions. Did they stop being funny more than 20 years ago? Yes. Does that stop him? No. Personally, I don’t think it’s wrong to love a classic. 2. He keeps up with the times. Whenever one of the young guns, like Zamir, wants to inject some new humor, Saba is always ready to take them under his wing. For example, Zamir introduced the team to “bagging“. I’ll be damned if Saba didn’t bag the team captains the very next week. He’s a master of the new and old. 3. He never stops. There is nothing more funny than beating a dead horse. Saba has an entire barn full of decaying carcasses, metaphorically. We hope. Somebody should probably report him for that. 4. He has perfect timing. Everyone knows that timing and delivery makes the joke. Saba never mistimes a joke. I don’t know how he plans for every situation, but he does. Anyway, if the award for Team Goofball does not go to Saba, then I’d argue there is no point in having team awards. Code: 211 words RE: (S24) - PT 3 - Midseason Mania - Roezam - 08-28-2020 No one on the Seawolves is really on pace to break any weapons, this is primarily because we’re such a well rounded team we don’t need someone to carry the entire load. Let's talk about where it all went wrong for Sam Roes. He was leading the entire season in TFL. Had 5 of them in a SINGLE game. You would think having 5 TFL in week 1 would set him up for success. Then came week 2, 3, 4. Still going strong. Well. Somewhat. Actually Sam was not on pace at all anymore. You see after that week 1 performance he didn’t get a single TFL for the next 3 weeks and has only had 3 since that wonderful week one. It was all downhill after week 1. This seems to be on trend for Sam as he also started preseason week 1 with 4 TFL and then got 2 for the rest of the preseason. So it seems that we need to have a new season or preseason every single week in order for Sam Roes to make these giant impacts because only week 1 matters. The good news is he is only behind the leading TFL person by 3 tackles and has shown that he can get that in one game multiple times. Only time will tell if Sam can catch up or will he have to wait till next year week 1 to take the quarterback by storm. RE: (S24) - PT 3 - Midseason Mania - Beebob - 08-28-2020 PBE PT RE: (S24) - PT 3 - Midseason Mania - EMPER0R - 08-28-2020 Bronko Mills is a the mid season rookie of the year and it isnt even close. Add to that one of the top RB in the DSFL. He leads the one, two punch of RB on the Tijuana Luchadores. He has 667 yards rushing on 110 attempts with 4 tds. 12 receptions for 75 yards. He averages over 6 yards a carry and 6 yards a reception. He is the only RB with over 6 yard a carry. He is in the mix for offensive player of the year and league MVP. He leads the league in rushing and he would be the clear top RB in the league if it wasn't for his teammate Crowbar Theeks. Crowbar is 14 yards behind him in rushing but has 2 more tds. We are in first place because of these two dominate RBs. As soon as the Luchadores get a lead its hard to us because of our rested defense because our RB is so good. Mills is a rookie and could possibly be the league MVP. He is already one of if not the best back on the best team. There are so many guys on the Luchadores that are making huge impacts and are in the conversations for awards but it's very hard to ignore what Mills has done as a rookie. RE: (S24) - PT 3 - Midseason Mania - YoungTB - 08-28-2020 Korbin Brown can and should definitely be considered as front runner for wide receiver of the year in the developmental simulation football league here in the ISFL. He has been dominating and is currently tied for the lead in receiving touchdowns. He has a bunch of catches, like 35 or so, and he is truly in a league of his own. This past week, Korbin was traded to the Baltimore Hawks from the Austin Copperheads and this has only fueled his fire to do well and to prove his other team wrong in trading him. He has been doing well and training as hard as anyone in Portland. In Baltimore, he will be getting a lot of reps, so it's important for him to develop now so that he can do well in Baltimore. That's why he should be in the contention for wide receiver of the year, because he has been so instrumental to the success of both himself and in Portland and because of the many touchdowns he catches game after game. All in all, Korbin has been a monster on the field and should look to win the award this year for being the best wide receiver in the developmental simulation football league. 206 words. RE: (S24) - PT 3 - Midseason Mania - Vainknight13 - 08-28-2020 At the halfway point Jameson Vermillion is on the verge of breaking big and earning running back of the year. Games are getting more and more consistent with higher numbers produced more recently. After a quick start in game one with a huge eight two yard touchdown he went on a skid of low numbers for a few games before kicking it back into high gear picking up an eighty nine yard touchdown and then in his most recent performance getting over a hundred yards in a largely losing effort. With these numbers picking up and his huge play ability, with seven games left down the stretch it would be easy to see him as running back of the year by the end of the season, another possibility would be offensive rookie of the year and with his help in the return game and his small contribution in the receiving game all of these things are possible. Returner of the year is likely out as one of his team mates seems to be taking over completely there, Noah Akerle seems dead set on being the best returner in the league, currently having the best average among all kick returns. Another teammate Wasrabi Gleel has a good chance at winning defensive rookie of the year, with a very large amount of tackles. RE: (S24) - PT 3 - Midseason Mania - Jay_Doctor - 08-28-2020 I'm going to take a bit of a different approach here. Stats only ever tell part of the story and everyone bends them to their own argument. The award I want to argue for has nothing to do with the sim itself, but rather the user behind it. The user I want to nominate is Tesla. From my very first interaction with her right up to today in the NOLA locker room, Tesla is the most uplifting person I have ever meet (via the internet at least). Tesla, like most other users, gets really hyped when the team is doing well. What sets her apart is how hyped she gets for all of us on a daily basis. I would compare it to someone who has kids. They will show everyone they know a picture or video of their baby because it's the world to them. To the rest of us, we usually act polite. We nod and smile along while praying they won't show us another pictures of basically the same thing with a slight difference. Tesla is that one user who truly does care about said baby. I've seen her get so excited for other people's accomplishments and it warms my heart. The other thing that is great about her is her compassion and positivity. When something doesn't go well in the sim or real life, she is right there to offer words of encouragement and empathy. Simply put, if the league had 200 Teslas, we would never see a punishment thread again. RE: (S24) - PT 3 - Midseason Mania - juniped - 08-28-2020 SHL Affiliate RE: (S24) - PT 3 - Midseason Mania - iStegosauruz - 08-29-2020 I hate giving MVP to a player on a team that underperforms. I'm not opposed to giving it to a team that isn't very good if the player in question led the team to a better record or standing than they should've been otherwise, however I'm not a huge fan of giving it to a player when their team doesn't achieve the status they're expected to, even if the player in question had a ridiculous year. That being said, I think that Easton Cole should legitimately me in MVP conversations this year with an outside shot of winning it if Austin can turn around their early season woes. He's fourth in the league in total passing yards with 2419, and although being fourth may not be the most impressive of feats he's within 100 yards of third and 200 yards of fourth. He's thrown the least amount of interceptions of any ISFL quarterback this season with 3, and although his 10 touchdown passes are the second worst in the league they're only mildly below the mode which is 13. He's been the third most accurate passer this year and has the highest quarterback rating. He's having a statistically strong season with good passing efficiency, the rest of the team in Austin is just not upholding their end of the bargain. Oh and the sim is a potato and big sucks. |
