As a relatively casual ISFL player that relies on PT affiliations, twitter money, and contract money – Dotts isn’t for me. I’ll never have the bank account to be able to afford to buy packs and frankly I’m not really sure what the point of the cards are. It’s a collectible, so that’s cool if you’re into it, but for me I just can’t ever see myself buying a pack. Frankly I went over to check out the free packs, but the site not being supported by Chrome turned me away because I’m lazy. I guess I can understand the appeal, because if the card system existed in the SHL I’d probably be into it.

One idea that I think makes a lot of sense to take money out of the economy is making training more expensive as you get to higher TPE tiers. It makes sense if you think about it, that a more veteran player would have to work harder to improve than a rookie coming into the league. I also think that the users with the most money are naturally going to be the ones that are cruising by 1k TPE and have the money to spend to get their weekly training +5 TPE, even if it were 2x the price.

Ultimately, the league economy isn’t really a problem. Money works, people can get money, and people can spend money. Nothing seems overvalued or undervalued. The two critical economic issues with the league though are the value on contracts, and the obsession with removing money from the league.

First, as far as contracts go, the reason nobody tries to negotiate for a bigger contract is because they just are not valuable. 5 Million dollars is just not a lot on this league. It isn’t even 50% of Tier 6 training. The difference between 3 million (an average minimum salary) and 5 million is like 2 graphics. It is not a major incentive. However, if salaries ranged between 1 million and 15 million, suddenly you would see a lot more value placed on getting to that bigger number. The difference between 3 million and 15 is gigantic. I think that’s the key to fix contracts: make them more valuable.

Second, I don’t like that the motivating factor behind adding new features to the game is specifically and explicitly to remove money. Removing money doesn’t matter. It certainly doesn’t make contracts worth more, because, again, contracts aren’t valuable to begin with. What needs to happen generally is getting more things to spend money on. Dotts is a huge step in the right direction, and so is the casino (which should measure success based on user interaction, NOT based on whether it “makes” money). Maybe you can purchase PT passes on a weekly basis the same way you can purchase training? Maybe you can purchase visual add ons that show up during games on your dot? There needs to be some more brainstorming here, but I do believe that we need it as a league.

While I do know that yes the cards will be coming out in 11 days I don’t care for the sake of this point task. I absolutely need a S24, 450 tpe Joshua Campbell card. My Ennis card was sadly a let down (even though I’d still like to have him) but owning Joshua Campbell with a Hawks jersey would be absolutely goated. As I believe the only active member in the league to have Calvin Johnson AKA Megatron as a render it would be the perfect flex especially towards a certain Georgia Tech fan in this league. If we are talking about a new series of cards completely I would love a gmoty card which yes I know is huge bias but I’ve won 2 of them and it would be an extremely cool Momento since my best season as a gm was in S21 with the certain clown and we had just amazing nights with the S22 class especially the draft. So a gmoty card or maybe even a DSFL team card like real life topps does would be super cool. On a more joking side a series about the meme players in the league like Noble, gimmy, SJJ, and the god himself Greg Gaines would also be amazing. People would go for those cards instantaneously since they would be as cool as a award card, but in a completely different way

I like talking about stocks and the market. Hell, even my player’s twitter profile says “Stonks” on the description. And as a super biased player writing an answer for this hypothetical prompt, stocks are the answer. It will probably be near impossible to implement, but imagine buying and selling stock on teams or players. ISFL team is tanking, but you think they’ll draft well? Put some of your player salary into shares of that team. As they win more games and become more valuable, more players will buy that team’s stock and the price will go up. Buy low, sell high. This idea will not really reduce money in the economy, more so just move it around in a circle since it would be a zero sum game in the ISFL and DSFL bubble. Teams could declare their company as going public and let investors buy shares to raise short term capital the team could use to sign their next max contract player while the investors reap the benefits of profiting (hopefully) on that team’s success. Is it likely to happen? No. Is it fun to think about and could potentially spark the idea of a better system to take money out of circulation? Absolutely. And in the off chance something like this does exist, I’ll be back here again typing about creating an options contracts economy.

I will write about both topics a little bit and give my personal opinions and suggestions moving forward. I do have some experience with trading cards especially in the sporting category I actually just purchased a baseball card last night. I think it would be awesome to incorporate the grade of a card like a 10 overall or nine overall to separate them in value and money. That way it would make some cards more rare while still having the same amount of cards out there of certain players. I think it would also be cool to add the challenge of collecting a full set of a certain amount of cards for extra additional money somewhat like a bonus. Overall I do think adding trading cards would be great to help those that want to be more creative with their artwork. As for trying to have more money in the league and have that circulation going I think one simple fix would be a super max contract like they do in the NBA for players who choose to stay on one team for their career. They should be compensated for their loyalty just like the NBA does for their players. I also think it would be kind of fun to add commercials as a type of way to make money like players can advertise “fake” brands created by the commissioner. Those are just some ideas thank you.

I have a few ideas for different series, but my favorite one that I've thought of is a gamechangers or playmakers set which highlights a really good performance or individual play. For example, Flash Panda had an 83 yard catch and run week 12 against YK in the 4th quarter when we desperately needed a big play. That huge catch set us up for an easy TD and tied up the game. (we went on to win in OT too). A play like that deserves to be remembered and recognized past earning a team game ball. Funnily enough my other example for this type of card is from the same game, where Brandon Booker got a 75 yard interception return TD. Amazing plays like these would be fantastic if inscribed onto a card and it would be a really cool series to make. I think cards for Player of the (IRL) Week could be a good one too, but admittedly that may take a bit of work to track. Also since there are no Playoff Performance awards, a series highlighting a player's performance during the playoffs would be awesome as well. (Ultimus MVP :eyes: )
Finally, as far as changes I'd like to see made to improve the experience, the only real thing I can think of is adding the capability to trade cards, but I believe this is something that's already been planned to be added.
I'd love it if I didn't have to download firefox to sign up, but I understand that that issue is also being worked on and was an unforeseen error (I think).
