RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - Sopath - 08-01-2021 Well the thing that really set Dumais on track to making the ISFL one day was that he made a gigantic development in his ability between his Sophomore and Junior year of high school. Prior to that I'm not sure Dumais Wells was even thinking they might have a chance of playing college ball but after the development that's when Citadel offered and South Carolina followed not long later. Once the momentum got going Wells got attention from many programs and eventually that would lead to Oregon which would help him become a big name that would ultimately allow him to end up in Tijuana. I think if I hadn't ended up becoming an ISFL player I would've liked to have been a writer. Growing up I was big fan of The Wheel of Time and Discworld and maybe it would've been fun to have done that instead of football. I never really tried writing anything so maybe I would've actually ended up being a waiter or something. RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - bex - 08-01-2021 In Raeni Clarke's Life, a lot of her choices were made for her. She didn't choose to go and live with her grandfather, the universe did that for her after her parents passed away. She didn't choose to go to a school that was part of Marcella Toriki's Girl Strong program. The universe arranged that for her when the foster care system dropped her with a certain family in a certain part of New York City. So, if the universe hadn't done that, and Raeni hadn't been put on a path to playing football professionally? I think that she struggles. I think that Raeni finds herself struggling in school with no healthy outlet for her budding athleticism. I think she doesn't have anyone in her life to encourage her in a meaningful way as she finds herself rotating through foster family after foster family, until she ages out and at 18 she is left completely alone in the world. I think she finds herself on the rough seas of New York City, crammed into an apartment with more roommates that she knows the names of, trying to keep herself afloat on her high school diploma. I think she puts money aside, a little bit out of every paycheck to buy a single ticket to a single game to see the New York Silverbacks play, clinging to the memories of listening to games on the radio with her grandfather. I think she closes her eyes and dreams of being out on that field. Raeni Clarke lives in her own best timeline, one where those dreams are becoming a reality. WC 268 RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - shadyshoelace - 08-01-2021 For Dante King, playing football at the highest level wasn't a choice - it was his destiny. From a young age, all he wanted to do was play professional football, and his family was incredibly supportive and enabled him along every step of the way to ensure he could reach his dreams. Naturally, this laser focus left little time for other hobbies or diversions. However, if Dante were, for some reason, unable to pursue the life of a football player and had to pursue a day job, he likely would've gone into sports media. As sports were always his passion, he would enjoy being able to be around the game, learning from coaches and players, and breaking down what's going on on and off the field for others to learn. His charisma would lend itself well to a broadcasting job down the line, where his experience playing football at a high level when he was younger would enable him to bring the wisdom of a seasoned vet into the viewing experience to help others appreciate the sport as much as he always has. In fact, when his career is done, Dante may consider finding his way into the booth like many former players have done before him, because he will likely be unable to let go of his love of the game. RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - Hallmonitor_20 - 08-01-2021 If Paul Monitor was not gifted with a leg that's so perfect for kicking footballs he would probably still be working at his deadbeat job as a foot model for big and tall men's shoes in the strip mall back home. Ever since Paul was in middle school he had always had abnormally large feet. Now they aren't hobbit big or big foot big that you would notice instantly. Instead they were a size 15 at only 12 years old. People were always shocked when Paul would ask for shoe sizes since he is not a tall man. In college Paul was 6'2" so nothing crazy but had a size 17 shoe. All of his shoes had to be special ordered but finally he got an offer to help pay for the cost. A local strip mall had a big and tall men's store which is where he ordered his large shoes and since Paul's feet were so large yet so pristine, he was offered a job modeling these shoes. This life was not as glamorous as his football career today but it paid well enough to live and for a college kid that was enough. If it was not for the ISFL calling him he would still be at that strip mall today. Code: 214 Words RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - HalfEatenOnionBagel - 08-01-2021 Orpheus Czargyros was always destined to be an athlete at some level of competition. that was evident early in his life when both he and his brother showed a strong aptitude for the game of football. As they say, iron sharpens iron, and the two brothers have only helped to hone each others' abilities as time went on. So, certainly that path was never going to be something hat either brother wavered from. However, Orpheus did find himself at a crossroads after the unfortunate Rager Bangamonga event that cost him a scholarship and the chance to play at the esteemed football program at the University of Georgia. Instead, he was left with a few options to pick up the pieces and opted to attend the University of Redlands, Rancho Cucamonga, with his brother where the two were a dominant tandem on defense. So, who knows, had Orpheus not had the run in with the law that he did and cleaned up his act, maybe he could have gone to that elite D1 school and maybe that would have led to the chance to play at an even higher level than the ISFL. Had football not worked out for him, Orpheus would likely be in the restaurant industry. He has always had a passion for food, cooking and the science behind it all. Perhaps he would have started a restaurant or food truck, maybe even just open a franchise of his favorite restaurant chain, Sizzler. RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - Mojojojo - 08-01-2021 Ever since his struggles with his weight, nutrition, and mental health during high school, Ernest has always had an appreciation for three positive forces in his life: 1) the sport of football and the support of his coaches, 2) the counselors that helped him identify, articulate, and overcome his struggles, 3) his high school sweetheart, now wife, Constance. So, while he dreamed of playing football professionally, when he went to college Ernest decided to study sports psychology and always planned to practice whenever his career in football came to an end. So if Ernest hadn’t had such a successful debate for the ISFL draft, that’s where he would be working with young athletes to optimize their performance and personal well-being. He was always more interested in team sports and the extra social and organization dimensions that it adds to performance. So, while he would likely have branched beyond football, he would have found himself most in his element working with other teams. Even if Ernest had decided not to pursue a career in football, it’s likely that the game would still be a part of his life. And in many ways, his life — and indeed his family — would be very much the same. He met his wife Constance during one of the darkest, most difficult times in his life, long before his sports success. And they had stuck by one another through many ups and downs. So for Ernest, a committed family man and always one to support his wife’s ambitions and career, nothing much would be different on the home front. RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - UltimateYeehaw - 08-01-2021 Chunt The Badger is not always known for his excellent life choices. From being thrown out of Disneyland due to a drunken brawl to consistently showing up late for practice, he is not the most responsible of badgers. However, his grounding force throughout all of these questionable choices is Chunt joining the ISFL. At this point, life without football is unimaginable for the badger. If anyone were to guess, he would probably be back in his home world of Foon, eating spiced potatoes and continuing his pursuit of annoying his friends. Before Chunt knew football, he was simply meandering throughout his life, convincing other creatures to sleep with him so he could shift into their form. Life was dull and meaningless. His best friends, Arnie and Usidore even tried to have him be happy again with their podcast “Hello, From The Magic Tavern” but sadly that couldn’t fill this football shaped hole in our favorite badgers heart. Even a fight against the Dark Lord of Foon (the equivalent of Voldemort) didn’t energize Chunt the way the ISFL has. The simple answer to the PT this week is nothing. Chunt is nothing if it weren’t for football. Life would have no meaning and Chunt would essentially be a walking corpse. RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - TubaMasterFlex - 08-01-2021 Player Retrospective Profile Siaosi Multiauaopele knew what his career would be from a young age. When he first joined a Pop Warner football league in Waipahu, Hawaii at 5 years old, Multiauaopele was convinced that he would one day join the game in the professional ranks. With an aptitude for the game and a natural athleticism that shined bright early, it was also clear to those watching him in middle school and high school. So it stands to reason that the young man had to give the question, “What was your fallback option if football did not work out?” a great deal of consideration. “My major at Brigham Young University was Environmental Science,” responded Multiauaopele. “My family placed a large emphasis on respect for nature and protecting the world for the next generation. If football was no longer in the cards, I believe I would have pursued a graduate degree in Environmental Science. For a permanent career, I would look to join the US Department of the Interior in either the National Park Service or the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement. To be completely honest, I hope to be involved with the DoI once my career in the ISFL comes to an end. I do hope that won’t be for quite some time though,” he said with a laugh. Code: Word Count: 217 RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - JKortesi81 - 08-01-2021 If Bayley Cowabunga never decided to be an ISFL Wide Retriever, she’d be living her life as a happy, normal dog in Buffalo, NY. After hearing all about her cool ass Uncles in Carlito Crush and Easton Cole (Both Hall of Fame players by the way) talk to her dad, Joe K, about how cool being a star player in the ISFL was for them, she decided that being an awesome ISFL player was the life for her. As fate would have it, on one of her many walkies, she sniffed out a special mutagen that not only gave her the powers of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, but also that of a world class ISFL wide receiver. Joe K, surprised by the transformation of his little puppers, agreed to let her live out her dreams and go to the University of Georgia to be a Bulldog. After that, naturally, she became a Dallas Birddog and won the Ultimini. And now, just like her Uncle Easton before her, she’s an Austin Copperhead. But if none of this happened, she’d be a cool ass dog in Buffalo, playing with her little brother Charles, going on walks, wanting some belly rubs, and being the co-host of the best podcast the ISFL ever had to offer. I’d say she made the right choice. (220) RE: (S30) PT 2 - Alternate History - huck24 - 08-01-2021 Vincent Jones Jr's younger years and how he came about to be a professional football player in the ISFL has been talked about before. As a boy he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and play professional soccer in the United Kingdom. Vincent's overly physical game led his coach and many other people, urged him to trade in his soccer cleats for football cleats. Once he did that, the rest became history. But what if no one gave him that suggestion to try and switch sports? Vincent wouldn't have given up on soccer if that was the case. He would have continued to work hard to attempted to be the best soccer player he could. But his physical play would have caused too many problems in soccer. On too many red cards would have made him a liability for his teams chances to win. After his brief soccer career, Vincent would have followed his father's steps again and he would have tried to get into acting, just like Vinnie did. Vincent has never had any formal training in acting, but he has vowed to get better and won't stop until his does. I can say though I'm pretty sure Guy Ritchie would give him a role in his next film! |
