(S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - Jiggly_333 - 06-19-2020 PBE PT (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - Moosecop - 06-19-2020 I feel like I've written something similar to this like 3 times in the last couple of months but it feels like this team is definitely on the verge of a breakout and if not this season, absolutely next. Jay Cue still has what it takes to be one of the best players in the league at the most important position so the offense can never really be counted out. He has now got multiple weapons on the outside and in the backfield to rely on instead of only having Saba Donut. Baby Yoda is looking poised to become a top tier tailback, whether he and the coaching staff want that, is still up for discussion. Cue now also has a great outlet in tight end Heath Evans who had a fantastic rookie year last season and earned himself some awards votes. I would not be surprised to see him continue to improve and earn himself some more awards votes this season and a Pro Bowl selection. On the defensive side, I would definitely not be surprised to see Desmond Scarlett make a huge leap forward. He has been steadily improving his first handful of seasons in the league while also being forced to match up against every other team's top wideout. Now he looks like he is truly ready to handle that responsibility and I could definitely see him making a run at the other top corners in the league come awards season. (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - TheRocheLimit - 06-19-2020 After spending two seasons in the DSFL with the great Norfolk Seawolves I'm excited to move up to the big leagues and play for Honolulu. As an expansion team, I think it will probably take a few seasons for us to be truly competitive but being a part of building a team from the ground up is pretty special. For me personally, this season is about working hard and getting better. When the time comes for us to contend for the Ultimus I want to be ready. Honolulu needs a #TacklingMachine and I intend to give them one. As for the rest of the team, we've got a great mix of veterans and young players. Corvo Havran leads the offense and he should be a great mentor to our quarterback of the future Luke Skywalker (a fellow Seawolves alum). Ruff Ruff and Ke?oke?o K?ne-Maika?i are a two-headed monster in the backfield, and we've got a solid receiving corps including Jed Podolak, Jacoby Clay, and William Alexander. I'm also really excited about the future of our defense, as we have playmakers on every level. Jayson Kearse, Shawn Dawkins, Buck Thornton, Jim Waters, and Heinrich Kackpoo should all be amazing contributors to a defense that will be feared in a season or two. As of the time of this writing our team is 0-2. Growing pains are to be expected for new teams, but the future of the Honolulu Hahalua is very bright. #RaysTheRoof (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - ml002 - 06-19-2020 SHL PT (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - UpperNet - 06-19-2020 Like everybody else are biggest hope it to make it to the ultimus and win it all again. Since are utlumus when we got hit with a few bad luck like last season when we was on a 4 game losing streak but somehow made it to the playoffs. I believe we have the team to make it but it depends on how our sim luck plays out, of course I will be a but help since i finally got my TPE up I am prone to have a breakout season as #1 wr and Tidwell still has alot of TPE dispite regression. Put offense is still strong on paper plus we added some defense weapons which will drastically improve our defense. This season if will be a battle for sure with other teams like Otters and second line looking strong and Arizona could be a wild card with there elite QB in cue. I just hope our team can live up to what we have on paper and win the ultimus! As my personal hope for this season I want to win breakout player of the year and hope I get a chance for WROTY, I finally think I got a good chance for this award. (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - howsour - 06-19-2020 This is Kichwa Jones first year in the NSFL, but without him last year, Austin made a great run after an awful start to barely lose in the ASFC Championship game. Individually, Jones had an amazing final year in the DSFL, his many memorable performances earning him awards for Runningback of the Year and the Offensive Player of the Year. However, this individual success did not translate into team success as despite his performance, the Dallas Birddogs were not able to make it to the DSFL playoffs. This year, Jones does not care for individual accolades; his primary objective is to make it to the NSFL playoffs and from there, hopefully Austin can make a run and contend for the Ultimus. The Austin Copperheads are well posed for success this year with some of the best players at their positions in the entire league. Perrenial all-stars like Dermot Lavelle Jr., Easton Cole, Mako Mendonca, Wide Receiver duo Net Gaines and Rod Tidwell. They also have players who have already won awards like Kyle Idlewyld. This Austin Copperheads team has a lot of potential for not only individual success, accolades, and awards, but the team as a comprehensive unit has the potential to win the Ultimus this season. And that is exactly the target for this team. They are hoping a better start than last year can propel the team to home field advantage in the playoffs and from there, hopefully we can find some luck along the way. Code: Word Count: 248 (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - juicychase - 06-19-2020 I think the Chicago Butchers are in great shape to improve in S23 after a rebuilding year in S22. We bring back all of our veteran front office staff and leadership from a year a go and a good foundation of core returning players on both sides of the ball. We have a new starting quarterback in G O’Donnell who is in his Rookie year and already at a 91 overall in stats. He threw for 215 yards in his debut against Sarasota. He will be throwing to a stout receiving core led by S O’Leary, V Hayes and a stout rookie in G Oberwald who recorded 6 catches for 84 yards in the Butcher’s week 2 win against the Liberty. The Running Back room is veteran, led by J Tertawidjaja and F Hank. The Butchers are much improved on the defensive side of the ball and it has shown in the first 2 games of the season, holding the Sailfish to 20 points in week 1 and the Liberty to 17 points in week 2. The defensive line is stout, led by Vassallo, Works and newcomer M VonPebbles at DE and J Smirh on the interior. The line backers are young but talented, led by Hockhertz and the corners are a strength of the defense. This might not be the year the Butchers win the Ultimus but it should be a step in the right direction for the rebuild. (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - TomHanks - 06-19-2020 SHL PT (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - Ephenssta - 06-19-2020 The Philadelphia Liberty are coming off a disappointing season where we barely missed the playoffs. Coming into this season, there was hope that we would be serious contenders. Although our draft wasn’t spectacular, we felt we used our picks well to fill some of the few holes that were left on the roster. The defense now has another season of experience to build up our young core and added some rookies to be truly exciting about and the offense looks to remain solid. Some of the excitement is built around Mr. Om, our new defensive end who had a breakout first couple games and has more than double the tackles for loss of the second highest player, recording an impressive 9 TFL in only two games. Om will bring some much needed support to a D-line that has struggled to earn in recent years. The rest is built around Simon finally joining the offensive line, which badly needed the help of an actual human. Apparently robots suck at protecting quarterbacks. With those two and the addition of some other talented newbies, plus allowing another season of development for the young core this defense is built around, there are hopes that The Liberty will soon return to the sim league playoffs. (S23) - PT1 - With a Little Help From My Friends - Mooty99 - 06-19-2020 Here at Austin we are looking for a big season coming up we really are. After getting knocked out in the ASFC play off last season we are looking to go better than that this season and battle our way into the play offs and to compete for the Ultimus one again. I think this season will be a straight battle in the division with the Orange County Otters who as always are scarcely competitive. San Jose have a new quarterback and so have dropped back a bit and New Orleans are getting a bit long in the tooth. Arizona are a good young team who have certainly got better however they are at least a season away from being properly competitive. The people to watch in Austin will be firstly Net Gaines. For years he has been the wide receiver number 2 but is finally stepping up to the number 1 birth and I believe he will shine. Last season the RB tandem worked to great success and with Leaf JR retiring I think that Kitchwa Jones will step straight in and be a day 1 super star along side Mako. Now I would talk about the NSFC but no point, Colorado may have filled there way to an Ultimus but the ASFC powerhouses will be back again this season. WC 220 |
