The looming expansion is super exciting to me. I love when the league gets shaken up and new families are formed in new locker rooms. Plus we get to witness another exciting draft take place. However, if I was in charge of a new expansion team though, Id want to think outside the box for a location and make the team real unique. And that’s why I’d take my team straight off the planet. I thought about going proper galactic but I wouldn’t want the team to be too far from their families and away games would be a real pain in the ass. So, with that said my team would be the Tycho Moonmen. I chose the name Tycho after the moons most prominent crater and is the one of the brightest spots on the moon when the sun is shining on it and can be clearly seen from earth. We’d have the team colours that are predominantly silver and white, and the stadium would of course be located within the crater, and how much fun would that be, the passing stats would be out of this world (pun intended) with super low gravity. That is fun for the whole family. I think this would be a great team for the league as it adds another fun element and who wants to be on earth anymore, I mean seriously, its riddled with disease and disaster after disaster as of late. Lets move the party over to the moon!

This is an easy question to answer as the obvious choice is New York City as the prime location for the next NSFL franchise. The first and most important factor for a new franchise is how much money is in the area and the New York metro area accounts for 1.8 trillion (!) in GDP per year, more than the entire country of Canada. The opportunity to grow the game international is not better anywhere in on this planet as New York City is home to the highest foreign born population in the world. Accessibility is another big factor and the New York City public transportation system is one of the best in the world. In 2016, 1.757 billion people rode their subway system. Being able to travel the whole city conveniently is key as there is also a staggering 672 track miles and 472 stations providing unrivaled access for travelers to games and home again all without increasing traffic. This area has shown its ability to successfully harbor some of the iconic sports franchises in our culture so now is the time to shine the light of the NSFL on all of the heathens of New York City that have been clamoring for the reckoning.

Well this one is easy because well, first, I feel like we had a prompt just like it not too long ago, but secondly because I have thought about it a lot and have considered making expansion bids in the past. And, in like my second season in the league (S7 or S8 maybe?), I participated in a league redraft in which redrafted all the player in the league and simmed a season. I was very young and naive at the time and drafted horribly and input terrible strats. But I did get the opportunity to create a whole branding for myself. I created the Detroit After Dark which to be honest I still think is a pretty sweet brand because, being from Detroit myself, that's a pretty scary concept. The colors were black and white which tbh are not that exciting, but at least regionally relevant. It's greatest downfall though was that it couldn't be encapsulated well with a logo and frankly I'm not that good at photo editing or logo making or anything like that. So, long story short, if I were to make an expansion team, it might be something like that. I'd at least like to have a Detroit team because I love Detroit so much. I really loved the Detroit Phoenix idea that was thrown out a while ago. Perhaps we'll see something like that again.

It is time for the NSFL to expand their Canadian influence by introducing the Toronto Thunderbirds. The Thunderbird is a powerful being in Native American culture and mythology, especially the Algonquian nation, which held territory in current day eastern Canada. “They delight in fighting and deeds of greatness.” What else could you possibly need? It is said that these commanding creatures create thunder simply by flapping their wings. On the gridiron, the Thunderbirds would rule with speed absolute, dominating teams with their aerial superiority. Thunderbird Stadium (working title) would be characterized by flashes of lightning and booms of thunder. Not ones to shy away from a fight, the Thunderbird defense will pride itself on winning the battles in the trenches through sheer power and agility. The teams’ colors would be a bright yellow with some red and deep blue accents.

Every attempt will be made to fully respect this sacred image and incorporate many cultural teachings into the gameday experience for fans and members of the community. This will be a partnership in representing the ideals of the Thunderbird, and all it represents, with the pride and reverence it deserves. Toronto is a beautiful city full of diversity and would be the perfect host for the NSFL’s newest members. Everyone, welcome The Toronto Thunderbirds!

Well as foreigner who has no ties to any place in the US there really isn't natural location that I thought right away after reading the PT. So it is bit harder to come up with good locations for teams and even harder to figure out what team could be named, so I opted to use best method ever.

Random number generator told me that state of Vermont would be perfect location for a team, which lead to me realizing that I really didn't have idea where it even is. There really weren't too many cities to pick from so I settled for the Burlington, largest city in state.

As for teams brand I checked from google what Vermont is known for and one thing that caught my eye was mapple suryp which to me feels very Canadian so now I have turned Vermont into fake Canada in my head, yet name of the state comes from french meaning green mountain so that is pretty oblivious choise for teams main color.

So welcome Vermont Maple Leafs to NSFL, name might be bit odd but I have feeling it might still work out better than expected. For logo I would use Red mapple leaf with white outlines, look being closer to NHL teams logo than Canadian flag. Yet main color of the team would be dark green, with white being secondary and red being tertiary, used on logo and some details on jersey.

I am going to have two options here. I for one, think it’s a travesty we have only one team in the heart of football country. The deep south. Shout out to Nola but I think there needs to be more representation there. Therefore, I want to put a team in Mississippi. It would be based in Biloxi and we would call it the Mississippi Flood. The flood has a bit of history in Mississippi. It comes from the undeniable power of the Mississippi River. The Flood name was used off and on during the late 1800s and truly became a force to reckon with. I think the Flood could be resurrected in the NSFL. Let’s build a team where MOST of the football talent comes from. The only drawback I think would be that it is relatively close to the second line facilities however I don't find that too much of a problem. And I'm completely biased so I wouldn't like the team in Alabama or Georgia or Tennessee for that matter. So the Mississippi flood it is.

But if we're thinking outside the box here, I would like to see a team in Cape Town, South Africa. We would call it the Cape Town Rockers. I think it will be a total off the wall place to put a team where we could bring a truly unique Community culture together to provide some of the best NSFL destinations to visit.

If I was in charge of a new expansion team, I would bring the team to the city of Detroit. Detroit has a strong presence in sports with MLB, NBA, NHL, and NFL but they are serious under represented in our sports community. Detroit has a SMJHL team along with a PBE team but other than that it's no where to be found. The name for this new Detroit team would be called the Motor City Mechanics. Since the 1920's Detroit was been the automotive capital of North America thanks to Henry Ford with the 3 biggest North American car manufactures starting and have their headquarters in Detroit. Also during World War 2 Detroit was the biggest manufacture of boats and tanks in the country. Detroit eats, breaths and sleeps automotive so having a name like the Mechanics is a no brainier.

This new Detroit team wold play in the Eastern Conference and already have a big geographical rival in Chicago. Detroit and Chicago constantly argue which city is the best sports city in the Midwest and the two being in the NSFL would be no different. Detroit also has other sports rivalries with Colorado, both geographical and historical rivalries makes Detroit playing in the East a sure thing.

When thinking about expansion for the league, it's natural to gravitate towards international brand ideas and locations. Personally, I really like the idea of more international teams in this league since a lot of our users are from outside the United States. However, when I was trying to think of a good international team and location, I couldn't really think of anything I loved. So, I came back to the U.S. and realized that there was an obvious location that was lacking football in both the real world, and in our sim league. St. Louis, Missouri.

The reason I chose St. Louis is because of their strong historical ties to the sport of football, with their first team being created in 1923, the 4th season of the NFL. They started as the St. Louis All-Stars, but since then, they had been home to the Gunners, Cardinals, and of course, the Rams. In 2016, when the Rams left St. Louis to move back to Los Angeles, it felt as if the fans in St. Louis were being robbed of something fundamental to their city. Not only were they losing the Rams, but they were losing Football itself since a lot of fans chose not to continue supporting the team in LA. This is where the XFL stepped in. The BattleHawks were born and the city had football once again. They're team was arguably the most successful in the league, with the most followers on Twitter, Instagram, and in fan attendance. However, it's success was short lived. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the league shut down and St. Louis was held without football once again.

All of this is what makes St. Louis the perfect location for an expansion team in the NSFL. As far as team branding goes, the city has been home to many different teams in the past, so coming up with something that's unique but still holds ties to the city is important. I did some research on the city, and something that stands out to me is their history involving trading. Since they were directly on the riverfront, St. Louis had busy ports and was an important hub for connections made nationwide throughout the 19th Century. Since trade upon the riverfront held such high importance to the success of the city, honoring this history with their new football team makes sense. To trade on the rivers, and to develop these connections across the country, Steamboats were a necessity for the city. Steamboats first arrived in 1817 and they had an immediate impact on the city's trade opportunities. Steamboats helped the trade city develop and thrive throughout their early history. Therefore, my idea for an expansion team is the St. Louis Steamboats.

If I could come with an NSFL expansion team, I would add the Burlington Bobcats to the league. Burlington, Vermont is a cool city located 90 miles of the Canadian border. It’s a chill college town that would do well with a professional simulation football team. Burlington will draw crowds from all over Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Canada, and possibly even the coveted Massachusetts. The NSFL is under represented in the Northeast of the US and this is truly a shame. New England is home to some of the most loving, caring and wonderful fans and I think they would really well with a team of their own. It’s a very far drive from most of the population center in the Northeast, but the pilgrimage would definitely make going to games that much more special for the fans. The Bobcats will have a deep green color mixed with a sharp yellow and black for the logo, numbers, and name on the back of the jersey. The logo is a mix of a black and yellow bobcat head, not entirely distinguishable but easy enough to see that it’s a big cat. The crisp white home away jerseys will look very nice with the deep green pant with the stripe running down it. Overall, the Vermont Bobcats would look great, draw a big crowd, and win a lot of simulation football games.
