RE: (S27) PT2 - Host City - Swanty - 02-13-2021 This might be a pretty boring and safe pick, but I'd love to see the Ultimini and Ultimus played out at the historic Wembley stadium in London. Being from London myself and having attended NFL games there in the past, it's a fantastic atmosphere and very accessible for ISFL and DSFL fans all over Europe. It might cost a little more for the US fans, but Norwegian Air, a low cost airline, flies direct from places like Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and New York. In terms of what London has to offer for the visiting fans? Well, an exploding support for 'american football' means that it's one of the most popular sports in the country now. So the big day will be accompanies by festivities all over the city. And what a city it is! A multitude of historical sights to visit and hundreds of pubs that are each older than any building in North America. And when you're bored of the pubs (if it's even possible to be), there's a wealth of breweries and nightlife to explore. We have seen many Ultimuses and Ultiminis in the past hosted in flyaway cities, where fans are bussed in and bussed out from more significant locations, but hosting the big day in London would be a memorable one for years to come. That is why the championship games will be played for the first time... underground...in Hang Sơn Đoòng Cave! This cave is, apparently, has the world's largest passage. It is more than 5 kilometers (3.1 mi) long, 200 meters (660 ft) high and 150 meters (490 ft) wide. Sources say that the site’s interior is so massive it could fit an "entire New York block inside, including skyscrapers" and have a "Boeing 747 comfortably fly through without its wings being in any danger." That is more than enough space to build a field and construct stands. What is the benefit to this? There is none. This would solely be done just to say that we were the first to do it (stupid NFL). It would also help us spread our international presence given that Hang Sơn Đoòng Cave is in Vietnam. We could also provide super unique cave opportunities during halftime, such as seeing the tallest known stalagmites in the world (70 meters), try to find baseball-sized cave pearls which have been found there, or take a swim in the connected underground river. But, because playing the Ultimus in a giant underground cave is badass as hell, Foo Fighters would naturally be on board to play the halftime show and rock everyone's collective faces off. The first Championship game in the brand-new sim should be memorable. Imagine how memorable games would be if they were not played within a football stadium, but instead inside of a giant cage located in the San Diego Zoo! Now, why choose the San Diego Zoo specifically? It’s simple, the San Diego Zoo is the #1 rated zoo in the world (at least according to the highly reputable tourscanner.com blog). The San Diego Zoo has over 3,500 animals across 650 species. This is very relevant because for this year’s Ultimus there will be additional rules. First, each team will be able to select one animal to join its team as a player. This will add a lot of variety and make for a fun and exciting game. One potential concern is that these animals may eat the other players. Do not worry, if an animal of one of the teams eats another player their team will be given a 15-yard penalty and given a warning. If an animal eats a second player, they will be ejected from the game. For the halftime show, the rival teams of the Ultimus teams will take the field. Then, lions will be released into the giant cage. This should provide an exciting half time show that’s fun for the whole family. RE: (S27) PT2 - Host City - hotdog - 02-13-2021 SHL PT |
