RE: (S29) Ultimus Week - The_Kidd - 07-07-2021 Task 6 Category 1
Let me preface this write up with this disclaimer: I am basing this point task write up off winning the lottery for being commissioner for a day or week. There have been some features I wish we could alter or at least experiment with. However, as someone who has only been around in a limited capacity for only 15 months, the juxtaposition does not look great when bringing such radical ideas to grizzled veterans who have contributed for years and years. Nonetheless, a voice is only a voice if it speaks. On an aside before I start, this is not a collection of potshots, just ideas and suggestions. The league has implemented many new positive features that have tremendously boosted the user experience.
This list will contain issues that I feel still exist or still are a hurdle for the daily experience of the average user. The first issues will revolve around the DSFL. The DSFL has issues that are detrimental to retention and marketability. For one, rookies are broke and I think a great solution to that would be to create a rookie scale contract, similar to other professional leagues. When rookies are officially drafted to the DSFL, they will get a 5 million dollar salary AND a waiver for T3 equipment. This would create a balance of having financial stability and ease them into the T6 equipment grind to hopefully decrease the burnout rate. Now, once they get drafted to the ISFL, all rookies will be issued a standard 3 year contract (which equates the max DSFL send down length) and annual pay will be based on their draft position (Round 1/2 = 5 million, Round 3/4 = 4 million, Round 5+ = 3 million). Not only will DSFL players keep their decent pay before getting barraged into the minimum prison, but might also deter ISFL GM's from calling up players so early. A majority of players will prefer to be called up early to the ISFL regardless, mainly because the DSFL is limited and is filled with unattractive football. Now I have a few ideas to make the DSFL more entertaining. The first is to amend the inactive rule. Currently inactives are benched in favor of human players or played out of position to fill gaps. Now, when DSFL players go inactive, their TPE will be scaled down to 200, 150, or left the same if they have earned less than 150; the excess TPE will be banked until the user returns or the player is auto-retired. If there is a human counterpart, that inactive will still play behind the human on the depth chart. The biggest change is: DSFL teams will be allowed one free position switch so GM's can fill gaps and remove bot players off the roster. The other part to this plan would be to expand the TPE cap to 350. I know most people argue that the disparity between rookies and 4 years DSFL players is a lot, but yet I see plenty of callups with under 500 TPE going against 7,8,9 year ISFL veterans. In my 4th season, I only had about 800 TPE earned, and I was already playing against wide receivers well over 1100 TPE and my stats pretty much sucked. Meanwhile, Brandon Prince played the spell RB in New York with only about 400 TPE in his second season and he had a monster game against a loaded Berlin defense in the Ultimus. My main argument is this: people complain about how the DSFL is run-heavy, how high penalty totals ruin games, how skill positions and Quarterbacks are limited --- well why not open up the TPE cap and let teams diversify and build more unique strategies? Put some life into the DSFL rosters, playbooks, and strategies. If players actually saw themselves producing more often, and if every game wasn't a derivative of the same run-run-pass, penalty, penalty, sack, punt/missed field goal then maybe more people would be interested in watching, interested in staying, interested in getting more involved with the inner workings of their team. Hopefully this would create more retention in the DSFL when players actually start having competitive games based on skill and not based on who makes the last mistake. Plus, once you keep those rosters at least 2/3 full with active players, it becomes easier to assimilate those new players into the DSFL. I mean sure, they will have to face tougher competition, but if their teammates are just as good, will it matter since they won't have such a big burden? They'll be able to slide in and eventually become a major contributor themselves. This last idea I made up while writing this point task. So let us say, people still find staying down in the DSFL an unattractive option. The red button option would be to bribe people to send down. Every player that stays down until the trade deadline after their first season will get a T3 waiver. Something radical, but sometimes shakeups clean out the rut and bring the true shine out. I was going to talk about other issues but I'm positive I already hit 800 words. RE: (S29) Ultimus Week - oilmandan - 07-07-2021 7.As a season 30 new create and draftee, I've just gone through my first season ISFL. I was brought here by MMFlex who suggested I try it out and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here so far. It's nice to come to league where I have no responsibilities and very little pressure to update or do all sorts of things that I do and other leagues. I do intend to keep things that way here so I can be a little more casual and only have to focus on my player. It gives me a bit of a refresh and keeps me interested, and not having to worry about doing other things to earn my keep. My first few games were at tight end, I was fourth on the depth chart in Norfolk and I saw that we needed a bit of a boost on defense. The opportunity presented itself to play defensive end and get to start immediately and I took that opportunity. It's been a good change I think, I'm looking forward to year two as a defensive end. With a little bit more tpe and being able to hold my own better as a player, I hope to get a few more stats than I did in year one. As for Norfolk, we missed the playoffs but hopefully with a bit more experience across the board and a good draft we will be in the playoffs next season, and be a major threat to win the championship. I haven't been drafted yet but with the draft coming up tomorrow I am looking forward to see where I'll be going and to meeting my new future teammates in Discord. It'll also be fun getting an idea of what my future holds in the ISFL. I kind of think I'm going between the late second round to middle of the third round and based on my tpe and the team's I have talked to that seems like a reasonable guess. Although depending on team needs I suppose I could go higher or lower . I'm not super concerned about where I go in the draft, pick wise, there were a few teams I had really good conversations with, that I do hope to go to but being a new user I haven't formed and attachments as of yet and will be please to go wherever I am selected. As for comments or suggestions for the entire league on changes I may make, I think the one I've seen so far is the draft and position changes. I think that being able to change positions after you're drafted is a little odd, as you can as a team, draft the highest tpe player and just have them change positions for you, to whatever the team needs. I think there's a lot more strategy and a lot more work involved, which may make things more interesting, if your players are locked to their position once they declare for the draft. 499 words 16. With a season 30 draft coming up in the ISFL, my prospect Stuart Hellraiser is included with the prospects to be selected. There are plenty of reasons why he should be picked by any of the 14 pro level clubs and anyone passing on him should think twice about doing so. Why do you ask ? Because he is a once-in-a-lifetime prospect and will single-handedly change your franchises fortunes if you are to pick him. Although every team seems to ask if a player is willing to switch positions, as a defensive end there isn't a ton of depth in this draft at the position. So therefore if you are intending on leaving draftees at their current position, Stewart is one of only a few defensive ends available. He has a nose for the quarterback and the quickness and strength to get there in a hurry and in a bad mood. His one goal in life is to inflict pain and suffering on quarterbacks, and anyone who tries to get in his way from doing so. He can be an asset against the run game as well, but his real strength is his the pass rush. Even though he made the switch from tight end this season, his skills on the defensive line cannot be questioned. Likely a later round pick in this draft, he could be one of the steals going forward, so ignore him at your own peril. He has said several times that he will make the teams that do pass on him pay dearly for that mistake 260 words 17. Being that I have not been drafted the ISFL yet , my stadium will be for the Norfolk SeaWolves. Upon hearing about the new stadium being built for the SeaWolves, I sat down with a group of engineers and designers to add some real flair to the new stadium. First off although I'm not sure where Norfolk is, this stadium will be on the top of a mountain. All the parking would be at the base of the mountain and there would be little gondolas that would take the fans up to stadium level. When on top of the mountain and entering into the stadium, fittingly called Mountaintop Stadium, fans would be greeted by life-size replicas of submarines from different eras throughout history. All the luxury boxes would be actual boats built into the stadium with a captain's chair and everything. On the upper edge of the stadium there would be two submarines, one on each side over top the end zones, whenever the SeaWolves would score a touchdown they would fire off torpedoes that are obviously on a string and they would go into the firing tube of the submarine across from it. Who knows what this would ultimately cost, but damn it would be cool. 208 words RE: (S29) Ultimus Week - Tomasnz - 07-07-2021 Tier 1 podcast Quote:5. The league has a rich and fascinating history, and our perspectives on it differ from person to person. In 800 words or more, describe any significant moment in ISFL or DSFL history, whether you were around for it or not. Describe the context, the significant members, and the events. What exactly made this event so famous (or infamous) and why does it deserve to be remembered? Events might include championship wins, the inducting of players to the hall of fame, or even a league scandalrecounting my experience and thoughts on the S17 Re-Simgate. Podcast is 22 minutes long, that should offset the first 1 minute of preamble. https://anchor.fm/tomasnz/episodes/UW-S29---Walking-around-with-Tomasnz-e143blc RE: (S29) Ultimus Week - Sopath - 07-07-2021 Tier 1 Task 6 The thing that really brought me back to the league after being gone for several years would have to be the league's wiki page. I'm a big sports history fan and I especially love me some sim sports history. In the Simulation Hockey League, the history is preserved but it's not the easiest to use. Thanks to people like Luke it is a lot easier but for a while the best option you had was to go through a million links and old web pages and keep open 20 tabs and piece together much of the history in your own head. This wasn't because of laziness but rather because when the SHL was started, I think the founders were probably hoping the league could gain enough people to even exist and then the league could exist maybe long enough to be fun for a couple months or a year. But here we are 11 years later and the league exists on a house of systems that weren't really designed with historical preservation in mind. It's been a frustrating issue and I think I've done a decent part to help by chronicling a decent amount of Newfoundland Berserkers history. But the ISFL made the very wise decision to try to record the history of the league as it happened through their wikipedia page. This is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. In May I found myself going through page after page soaking the history of the league into my head. It's an incredible feature that I think every sim league should have. This is a feature that allows a new player to the league an easy way to access the history of the league and feel more invested. It not only helps to inform new players about the lore of the league but it can help them to remember that their actions as a player will be chronicled and recorded forever. I actually had a fun trip where I went and looked at the NSFL Draft where my original player was drafted and thinking "darn I was a freaking bust!" But there were problems with the wiki. For one thing, much of it is only updated by the players themselves and there are many players who very clearly do not care about the wiki. So since I joined the league in Mid June I've actually been working with the wiki team to create pages and or update pages of every single MVP Winner in league history. It's been a good way to educate myself on league history while making the wiki a better place! My first page was a page that had been bothering me. Borkus Maximus the Third. So quick background on Borkus. Borkus Maximus is a player whom is technically the oldest player in league history. While your typical ISFL player played at like Florida State or Michigan, Borkus Maximus played at the Platonic Academy run by none other than Plato himself about two thousand years ago. Borkus played football for the New Orleans Second Line for many seasons where he was a several time best Quarterback in the league and an MVP winner. Leading New Orleans to a championship at some point in his career. But much of this information was completely void from the page. In fact if you were a new player and you stumbled upon this page before I fixed it you might even make the mistake of thing that Borkus Maximus is still an active player when he's been gone for many seasons now. Being frustrated by this I decided to correct the page. I put in the rest of Borkus' career stats and then I put in all of his awards and retired the player formally so it could be recorded in the system and navigated better. I also added a hall of fame banner. When I finished I decided to do similar things with other players and I have had a lot of fun doing that. My hope is that at some point the whole wiki will be generally more accurate making the history of the league fully accessible to all players in an easy way. By helping people to better know the history of the league it can help them feel more invested in the league and their actions within it. At some point all of our current players will be gone and retired. And the notion that their actions were just dust in the wind is not one that should be allowed to prevail. I think all users owe it to all those who came before and after to see that the history of the league is not lost. The history of a sim league is the soul of the league and thing that gives it the weight that gives that real life reflection that so many of us look for in sim leagues. May the history of the ISFL live forever! Word Count: 818 RE: (S29) Ultimus Week - Pancakes - 07-07-2021 Tier 2 Task 10 Jax Baker was the best of the best. Or, at least, that was how it had felt. He and his trainer had stomped their way across Johto, Kanto and beyond. They'd faced official gym leagues and countless trainers milling about in the cities and travel routes. Jax didn't do all the battling on his own of course, it was always a team effort. Jax knew that a Snubbull couldn't stand up against a Dragonite in a fight and happily gave up the spotlight to let others shine where they could. But he was the first. Jax and his trainer, Ben Baker, had developed a bond stronger than most people realized. He had often heard locker room talk amongst Ben's peers about him. "Why does he bother keeping such a weak Pokemon around?" "Can't he at least evolve the poor thing?" Jax wasn't sure if Ben knew what others said behind his back, but he was sure Ben had some idea. It wasn't as if Jax could speak like humans. The most he could do was grumble and bark at the offenders and hope Ben would pick up on the cue (which he always did). Jax had never thought of himself as living in the shadow of his trainer or teammates. But when the day came for Ben to assemble his team to challenge the Elite Four Jax found himself off the roster. It hit hard. Had he not been pulling his weight? Had he been delusional about his contributions? Ben had been apologetic but set in his plans. It was the first time the two friends had fought. And it wasn't pretty (only partically because Jax could only growl and bark). Ben had been adamant that Jax stay and watch from the sidelines to cheer on his friends and teammates but much like Ben, Jax was unyeilding. Years of companionship, growth and promises to make it to the top together had been all but thrown in his already grumpy face. Jax needed to make a mark on the world in his own way. He set off to find a new passion outside of battling. Something fast paced and competitive. Something (despite the betrayal he had been dealt) with a team. A team he could be on equal standing with. A team that wouldn't pity him. It was a hard thing to find. Luckily, one day Jax had been walking in a busy park when a large, bown, oval ball came sailing past him. On instinct he ran to catch it- what dog doesn't love to chase a ball? And Jax had always been fast. He didn't know who the ball belonged to, or what they would want from him, but thats when the scouting began. WORD COUNT: 455 Tier 2 Task 7 It has been an interesting ride for sure! This is my first experience not only with a simulation league but really any football related anything (except for like, two or three Superbowl parties I can remember going to when I was young in which I didn't pay attention to anything outside the commericals and halftime shows). Its been a pretty big learning curve for me, and I definitely still ask for a lot of help. Everyone I have met through this sim league has been super awesome and I could definitively say that if it weren't for the people in the league I would not have considered joining and/or sticking around. There would be quite a lot of people to name, but if they read this I'm sure they know who they are <3 I'm excited to be joining the big boys club in the ISFL at some point so I can play with all those people! Learning how the stats work and the ways to build my character up have been fun. I'm pretty satisfied with how this first season went. Though I didn't win, I was told I had been nominated for an award for how my character played which shocked me (especially since I did get a little busy and missed some TPE opportunities). For the next season (and beyond) I want to focus on doing more media pieces as I learn more about the league and the other players and teams in it. Doing the weekly training camps without any sort of income has not been the kindest to my bank account. One of my biggest interests is to do a podcast! Maybe talking about my expierence as someone who has never really been into sports stepping into the sim league world and why something like this interests me while watching the actual game doesn't as much. I was a bit late to creation so drafting the first time around wasn't super exciting. It was literally days before and no one reached out to me, save for the the GM I already knew (woo Pythons!). I was super happy and felt lucky that I got to go exactly where I wanted, playing in a position that interests me. The whole announcement stream was much more exciting than I had anticipated it being. I only wish I had thought to make my player's graphics beforehand! Drafting for the ISFL has been fun though. It surprised me that most teams (I think?) reached out to me and wanted to have the proper scouting conversations that I missed out on for the DSFL. It was cool getting to talk to people I had not met before and share my experience and hear about theirs and the kind of culture they have with their teams. I'm pretty nervous for tomorrow because I do have a clear idea of where I want to go- but I hope I will have fun wherever I end up! No one has been rude and unpleasant to me yet! WORD COUNT: 505 RE: (S29) Ultimus Week - LimJahey - 07-07-2021 4. “Sim gonna sim” is a popular expression in the league. Write about teams that have been graced by the sim gods and had amazing performances despite statistical odds, and/or about teams that were considered favorites but may have dealt with some bad sim luck that hampered their efforts. How much of an impact did it have on their season(s)? Sim gonna sim is a very common term used in the ISFL. The program that the ISFL hosts its game on is unrefined, which results in multiple instances of unpredictability and questionable outcomes. This can include instances like punting from the opposing 30-yard line or going for it on 4th and 4 on the first drive of the game. Most teams usually encounter one, maybe two instances of the sim goofing up and screwing their team over, but usually only have to deal with the lone instance. Coming off of a strong 12-4 S27 year, the Chicago Butchers were looking to continue their rolling successes. Having made the playoffs the previous 3 seasons, the Butchers were primed for another playoff run, with most of their S22-24 roster either in their prime or hitting it. The first two weeks of the season started off well for the Butchers. Taking on their division rival Sailfish in the first game, they won 38-31, getting an upper hand on last season’s champions. Following up would be another win against the rebuilding Hawks. For their week three game, the Chicago Butchers would take on the Philadelphia Liberty at home. The Liberty were a team that were in the beginning stages of rebuilding, and had lost their two previous games heading into Chicago. With the Butchers expected to steam-roll what was considered one of the worst teams in the league, the Liberty kept the game very close, and went into the half with a 7 point lead. Once the second half started, Chicago chipped away and took the lead, but Philly kept the game incredibly competitive. Going into the closing moments of the game, Chicago would drive into Liberty territory with under a minute remaining. With 17 seconds remaining, the Butchers got into field goal range. In any normal NFL situation, the Butchers would call a time out with 1 second remaining, leaving no time left after the kick. This logic however, does not work with the sim. The sim decided, that the Butchers would call their time out with almost 10 seconds left. This should still be okay, as long as Sidekick can make the field goal. With 5 seconds left on the clock, Sidekicks kick goes through the uprights! Butchers just have to survive a kickoff, which is one of the hardest ways of scoring a touchdown in the sim. So there’s no way that old Flash Panda can return it from two yards deep, surely the solid Chicago defense will stop him before the 20, or maybe the 40, there’s still 60 yards of open field to stop him, but, the, Butcher, can’t, stop, him. In the last 5 seconds of the game, Flash Panda rips out the hearts of the Chicago Butchers and returns a kick 102 yards for a game winning touchdown. With a shocking week three loss, the Butchers couldn’t focus on their next game against their rival Yeti, going on to lose by 8 points in the week four matchup. In week five against the Wraiths, the game was a very close matchup the entire time, with both teams defenses holding their own in the low scoring affair. In the last minute of the game, the Wraiths would kick a field goal with 45 seconds remaining to take a three point lead. With such little time, the Butchers made an impressive drive down the field, ending up at the Wraiths 35 yard line with 9 seconds remaining and no time-outs, leaving a 52 yard field goal for their kicker Sam Sidekick. Sidekick was a maxed out kicker, with 100 kick accuracy, so the odds of making the field goal were pretty good, but unfortunately, fate was not on Chicago’s side, as she missed the field goal, giving the Butchers their third loss in a row. They would lose next week against the Outlaws, as O’Donnell threw a pick in overtime, leaving the Outlaws with a 27 yard field goal for the win in OT. After winning the next two games, the Butchers would lose against the Sabercats thanks to a last second 63 yard field goal. With the season spiraling downhill, the final nail in the coffin would come against the Sailfish. With a tie game and 19 seconds remaining, the butchers would get to a 4th and 1 in Chicago territory with 4 seconds left. Any normal thinking human or robot would think punt and nothing else. If an NFL, NCAA, or even a high school coach decided to run the ball on a 4th and 1 with a tie game in their own territory with 4 seconds remaining, they would be fired on the spot. On 4th and 1, the offense broke the huddle, and gave the ball to Hayes. Hayes would gain a yard, but would not break the plane, turning the ball over to the Sailfish. On Chicago’s 34 yard line, Jacob Smalls would go and kick a game winning 51 yard field goal, with only 2 seconds left on the clock. Ending the game, and ending Chicago’s season. There were other questionable sim decisions for the Butchers that season as well. Losing to the rebuilding Hawks, a team with almost no defense, Defensive End Von Hayes only getting 3 sacks as one of the only maxed out defensive ends that season, with the whole team’s sack and defense totals being a complete 180 of the league leading S27 Butchers defense. The sim is a cruel mistress, and Chicago in their S28 season was her bitch. Code: 921 words RE: (S29) Ultimus Week - puolivalmiste - 07-07-2021 29: SHL PT #2 +2.5 RE: (S29) Ultimus Week - MobiausGrander - 07-07-2021 1) Another season, another wild and crazy season of ISFL football has taken place! As I am writing this, Season 29 has just concluded and there were a couple of surprises that were in store this season. Let's start off with the season review with analysis of the teams that made the playoffs and a playoff results review in the end. The first team that I am going to talk about are the often-talked about (and sometimes mocked) Arizona Outlaws. In season 29, the Outlaws obtained another dominant regular season, going 11-5 and clinching the 1 seed in another wild season in the ASFC. This outcome was the most predicted and expected outcome as the Outlaws were also the 1 seed in Season 28 and expected to finally break through an win an Ultimus this season. They were 3rd in the league in points scored and 2nd in the league in points allowed, both of which underscored the expectations that the team had going into this season. The second team that I am going to talk about are the New York Silverbacks. The Silverbacks, though an expansion team, have been noted to have quickly risen to the level of contender as noted these past few season with how competitive they have been. The Silverbacks, like last season, achieved a 10-6 record and clinched the 2 seed in the ASFC, another highly expected outcome in the minds of most fans and analysts. The Silverbacks were 5th in points scored and 7th in points allowed, helping to secure and reinforce their contender status as of late. The third team that I am going to talk about are the Berlin Fire Salamanders. The Salamanders, much like their expansion brothers in the Silverbacks, have also been noted to have quickly risen to the level of contender as noted these past few seasons with how competitive they have been like the Silverbacks as well. The Salamanders achieved a 13-3 record and clinched the 1 seed in the NSFC, another highly expected outcome in the minds of most fans and analysts as they were the other team largely expected to compete for the Ultimus alongside the Outlaws. The Salamanders were 2nd in points scored and 1st in points allowed, leading many to believe that were more worthy favorites to win the Ultimus compared to the Outlaws. The fourth team that I am going to talk about are also often-talked about Sarasota Sailfish. The Sailfish have still been largely competitive even after their Ultimus victory a few seasons ago. This season was nothing different and more of the same. The Sailfish went 11-5 this season and clinched the 3 seed in the NSFC; this has been underscored with the fact that the Sailfish have scored the most points in the league this season and are tied for the 3rd fewest points allowed this season, leading many to believe that the Sailfish could be a darkhorse contender to win the Ultimus. The fifth team that I am going to talk about are the Colorado Yeti. The Yeti have been counted on to always be a hyper competitive team. However, last season, the Yeti went 8-8 and failed to make the playoffs for the first time in a while. However, this season, the Yeti have proved that last season was nothing more than a fluke as they went 12-4 and clinched the 2 seed in the NSFC. They were 4th in points scored and tied for the 3rd fewest points allowed, helping to show how well the Yeti have bounced back this season. The final team that I will discuss is my team, the New Orleans Second Line. We have always had a reputation of being competitive and sneaking into the playoffs whenever no one expects us to and surprising people in the playoffs for hard earned wins. However, like the Yeti, last season seemed to be of a fluke season as we went 5-11 and completely missed the playoffs. On the other hand, this season, (which was completely crazy and almost lost for us) was a bounceback season as we went 9-7 as we defeated multiple good teams in the league (with some completely fluky losses out of nowhere). We were 7th in points scored and 6th in points allowed, which helped us to bounceback from last season's aberration. Now that I have discussed each playoff team's season, I will briefly discussed how the playoffs shaped up. In the ASFC wildcard, NOLA went up against the Silverbacks. The game was wildly entertaining and went back and forth; NOLA managed to take the lead until a go ahead TD drive by the Silverbacks and a timely forced fumble managed to clinch the game for the Silverbacks 35-31, which would end up being the Silverbacks first franchise playoff win. The Silverbacks would advance to the ASFC Championship to face the Outlaws. Despite the final score being 34-27 in favor of the Silverbacks, the game was largely in the control of the Silverbacks as they forced multiple turnovers and shut down elite RB, Tatsu Nakamura, to advance to their first Ultimus in franchise history. On the NSFC side of things, the NSFC wildcard pitted the Yeti vs the Sailfish. In a game that was largely expected to be competitive, the Sailfish completely humiliated the Yeti on route to the NSFC Championship. There, the Sailfish would face off against the Salamanders. In a close game, the Salamanders would close out the game by forcing the Sailfish to surrender punt and then run out the clock there, leading to the much hyped Expansion Bowl between the Silverbacks and Salamanders! Unfortunately, the game would not end up being competitive as the Silverbacks utterly destroyed the Salamanders to the score of 40-20, leading to their first title in franchise history in a historic manner in Season 29. 971 Words RE: (S29) Ultimus Week - sve7en - 07-07-2021 Code: 10. Write a short biography or story about your player. This could include background about how they came to the ISFL and how they’ve done so far, a story about their role in an exciting game, or anything else related to their experience in the league. Woo, made this here with all the ice on in the booth Maddie grunted as she hit the top of her squat rep, barbell bouncing slightly on her shoulders with the abrupt change. For it being early in the offseason, the former rookie of the year was hitting the weights hard. There was a fire behind her eyes in the best of times, but the combination of Chicago's recent struggles, some doubts of her being renewed, and the recent departure of Evan Jones all added more fuel. Expectations were high this past season for Hayes, and while she felt them and lived up to some, she left a lot on the table production wise and that was upsetting. She shook her head slightly and refocused on the bar sitting on her back and her work for the day. It was a long day of leg work ahead. At the gate outside, when they pull up, they get me loose Her waist bent again, and knees followed. Yeah, Jump Out boys, that's Nike boys, hoppin' out coupes Back up again, feet almost floating off the platform. In some ways, it was like her rookie season. Maddie remembered all to well the feelings of frustration and perceived disrespect from the draft, as well as question marks about her potential for contribution when she was seen as a flashy player without the fundamentals to be a feature back or win games after her time in Minnesota generated more doubters. She proved them wrong then, and after a somewhat stagnant season following her rookie campaign she was energized and ready to make a similar leap again - as if collecting a bunch of skill upgrades all at once. This shit way too big, when we pull up give me the loot. Last rep. Down again, and back up, pushing through both physical and mental weight on her shoulders. She had a long offseason ahead, but she knew she would come out of it stronger and ready to be one of the top running backs in the league. She had the speed, and the strength and game IQ would come in the next few months. She dropped the bar on to the hooks and made eye contact with the angry blue eyes of her reflection. There was a storm coming in off Lake Michigan, about 5'11 and 200 pounds heavy, it was about to tear through the league. Code: 402 words Code: 25. Imagine your current position was not available to be picked when you created your player. What other position would you have picked, and why? Given what I know and what I've done, I'm incredibly happy that I took the chance on swapping from wide receiver to running back. Even if the big plays are fewer, I get to play some as a receiver and get to grind away 4 yards at a time. If I wasn't doing this, I'd probably play on the defensive side, likely as a corner, but maybe a safety. I wanted to ride with a rugby player from the get go so playing in the box on defense might happen, but I love to build quick players, as anyone in the SHL can confirm. I wouldn't want to play on the offensive line or at tight end, not wanting to spend my time blocking, and as an affiliate member the idea of playing QB is a little daunting and not really for me. It feels very much like a role for players who make this their main league. Nothing wrong with that as a concept, but I didn't really want to pursue it or put that pressure on myself to earn. I've found it much better to half-effort the earning and see a bit more progress and success early in my career. Code: 202 words Code: 29. Affliate PT from either SHL/PBE. The Weeks must match with the timeframe of this UW, which would mean SHL's PT #2, SMJHL PT #3, and PBE's PT 26-2. I have always wanted the ISFL to switch sim engines to the lastest sim engine and I thought it would be a nice transition and I still stand by my thoughts. I think it was a great transition and it was still the same sim engine but added some new attributes would be great for the player and great for max earners who want to be better than others. First of all, the index is a massive improvement and now there are less glitches and there are career stats instead of having to make the career stats yourself which is very annoying to do. One of my favourite things about the PBE was the index and it makes me like it so much with history and advanced statistics involved and ISFL has followed that. Now how about the competition. I'm not gonna lie, I have not been following much of every game because my team has been losing so many games and it just disappoints me seeing my team especially my player who has been underperforming. I do not know about other players but my player who had high TPE was a massive disappointment but that may be just me because I am a very unlucky lad and it still stands. 25. This is a great task for me. Back in S5, I was a QB and I had to switch position because no team needed a QB. Wrong. The Yeti and NOLA needed a QB and they passed me and lied to me and I was then forced to switch position from QB. I then switched to LB and I became a hall of fame player so it was not bad. Now if I were to switch from QB this time, I would not go to defense because I am done with defense and I cannot win awards I want to win in defense and that is not good for me. There are two positions I eye on other than quarterback and that is tight end and running back. Two positions where it involves running and catching and they will why the attention they deserve from other players and fans. I always like to build a player where it is the most valuable which is why I like the quarterback positions because it is the most valuable position in american football. Either way, I was a pussy for switching from quarterback because maybe I would have battled out Mike boss as my player was getting loved by the sim but sadly we'll never know. 27. Branding can be controversial as there is no right answer all the time and in this case, it is obviously an opinion. So who do I think has the best branding. Obviously the Sarasota fish guys. I love their logo as it is a great picture of the fish and it is like a sports logo. I do not think the fish looks silly and stupid and I think the fish looks like an alien which fishes are so automatic dub there. I also like the colors of the team as teal is one of my favourite colors and teal with blue is fucking sexy and it looks too attractive. So yeah, that is my favorite brand and will remain my favorite brand and it won't change. Now what is a brand that could change? A brand that has yet to change and that are the San Jose sabercats. It is still the same from s1 and the history is not as successful as it should be. The otters have won many championships so they should remain with the same logo but the San Jose logo might be cursed and so they should change that logo to a new one and start a new era in San Jose. 29.
