Big Slammu is now a 4th year vet in the ISFL. It wasn’t that long ago that he was a college reject after a tumultuous (yet dominant) highschool career in Jackson, Wyoming. He was a DSFL walk on, and a 3rd round ISFL pick but only Slammu knows how close he was to never making his dreams of being an ISFL Football player a reality.

He was considered a distraction by many college programs for his role in the hit show “Street Sharks” and that seemingly effected him in the ISFL scouting process as well.

He made the choice of being a professional football player because he felt like that was his life calling. He had never been that good at anything else (outside of stopping crime) and he knew he would be making a lot a money to boot.

It’s also increased the amount of eyes on his hit show Street Sharks due to his popularity in the ISFL. Now, Slammu hasn’t had the amount of impact on the ISFL as he’s hoped. Frankly, his career has been sort of pedestrian outside of the two Ultimus Bowl runs, and he hopes he can make a larger impact on the league as he continues to develop. He’s nearly maxed out his attributes and now he’s gonna focus on getting those traits up to snuff.

Anthony MacGuire was always a huge football kid growing up, so there was really no plan to not make it in the big leagues - of course, there was, and still is, the possibility of not making the DSFL (and by extension the NSFL), so his backup plan was what he went to college for - a degree in economics, with the actual backup job being something related to that, like a financial analyst or something along those lines. A boring day job compared to the high intensity action of being a great star player in an even greater football league, sure, but at least you won't get irreparable brain damage from it. Well, it might fry your brain just a little bit, simply because looking at charts and projections all day can't be good for your mental health. Thankfully, Anthony did end up making it to the DSFL, because his grades weren't exactly the best - passable, sure, but nothing that would help him make the dean's list or anything else truly prestigious, that is, academically prestigious. It was really football or nothing for Anthony, he could hardly stand sitting in a lecture hall for an hour, imagine sitting at a desk from 9-5 every single day for the rest of his life? Torture.

Lesean Paris Crooks was not supposed to be a football player. He just happened to have the athletic ability to play sports well enough to earn a pro deal. Truth be told, football was not even Crooks' favorite sport. Crooks always preferred basketball over football and was his best as a track athlete. However, he did not like the constant traveling required of track stars and prioritized being close to his mother and siblings. Looking back, he probably wishes he would have traded the constant travel for the less strenuous damage to his body.

Crooks though always wanted to play basketball, he was supremely athletic and played varsity basketball before football. Crooks used to spend a lot of summers on the beaches playing volleyball and I guess the athleticism translated from the volleyball court to the basketball court as he got older. Crooks actually earned his scholarship in basketball and elected to play football just in case he did not grow past 6'2. He knew that unless he grew some more, he would have it tough trying to go pro in basketball.

So he stuck to football because it was his best bet to land some professional athlete money. He only went this route because he needed the money to fund his music career. If he could afford it, he would keep auditioning for acting roles and opening up bigger acts on tour to fund his studio time and all of his equipment until he broke big. But with his contracts, he is able to fund the studio time and produce and record his album and focus on marketing his band and his sound instead.

Growing up in southern Florida, Von Hayes had more than a few options of a career path besides football. With his high school coach recruiting him because of his size, if this had never happened, what would Hayes have done with his career? Being someone who had always had a love of the local fauna and preserving the local eco-system, Hayes was always invested in spending his spare time among the Everglades, relaxing and soaking in all of the swamps natural beauty. When he attended Miami, he chose to pursuit a degree in ecological engineering, hoping to help develop more ways to keep the ecosystem healthy and unobstructed by the ever expanding need of homes for Florida residents. While leaving Miami after only two years, in his spare time he made sure to finish his degree for a future beyond football. One more option that was always in the back of Hayes mind, was becoming a teacher. Hayes was a natural leader, and had great natural intelligence. While likely not teaching below a high school level, in his professional career, Hayes has returned to Miami multiple times to give speeches, and assist with lessons when asked. Life is unpredictable though, Hayes could have gotten lazy, and ended up failing at many turns down the road, but he ended up having a successful career, with the option and opportunity to branch into a different career if he ever wanted to.

If Mendoza wasn't in the ISFL I honestly have no idea what he'd be doing. He isn't even good at football so its not like I'd expect him to have an outstanding career doing anything else. Maybe he could be a good circus clown or could be that person who  rides a unicycle across the tightrope at the top of the tent. That would be entertaining. Maybe he'd be skilled at being shot out of a cannon. I could see him being a long haul trucker - something that requires a lot of skill because of the size of the truck but no athleticism which is what I imagine he lacks. I enjoy baking so many he could be a baker - makes a mean muffin or cupcake but burns any cookie. Probably not a second sport start - that would imply him being a star in this sport and as I established he's really not that. I could see him being a refrigerator salesman now - he's basically the size of one since he bulked up to play defensive tackle so maybe he could empathize with the plight of fridges everywhere and sell them to quality homes. He probably couldn't be a football coach because that implies you have some basic knowledge of the game to impart on someone.

Andrew Witten has loved football his whole life. However, it was not until high school that Witten gained an interest in a sport which is rapidly growing in popularity: disc golf. Given that disc golf is not nearly as popular as football, Witten felt that he ought to pursue his favorite sport, football, as a career, in order to make generational wealth with his athletic talents. If he was not a professional football player, however, Witten might have pursued a career as a disc golfer of the Disc Golf Pro Tour. His natural athleticism and long, slender frame makes him a great disc golfer, and he has competed in many amateur tournaments. If Witten put all his training and focus into the sport, he likely could make a living as a touring pro. While the top touring pros do not make much money in tournament prizes ($30,000-$60,000), the best players often have large sponsorship deals with disc manufacturers, who provide transportation, tourney fees, lodging, and income for their players. Witten would sign with Dynamic Discs and throw Wardens, Escapes, Rivers, Felons, and Getaways, and would be known for his impressive ability as a woods golfer. His accuracy allows him to play well on courses with tight fairways and stay out of trouble and out of bounds areas.

Panda McKyle is destined to be a football player. He is the son of Kyle Idlewood, who himself is a great football player who played for the Austin Copperheads. The choices he had to make are where he wanted to play in the football field. Panda could have followed in his father’s footsteps and played on the defensive side but instead he decided to play quarterback and go against the family business of playing defense. This choice affected the DSFL draft and ISFL draft. Every team was expecting a defensive juggernaut but instead another player in a crowded quarterback pool was added. This proved helpful for the Portland Pythons who lost their franchise quarterback due to a mysterious disappearance and McKyle was chosen to lead to the promise land. So far no luck has found the Pythons but his choice could either lead them to glory or despair, and the latter seems to be a reality. Otherwise, the career choice instead of football would not be so graceful. McKyle made the choice of not working on other skills, and put all his eggs in one basket. So if he fails McKyle would make a great grocery bagger for his local Aldi. Maybe he will get called up by a different team to win an Ultimus.

Molto probabilmente sarebbe morto.

There are a lot of nights where Alejandro Chainbreaker considers what would have happened if he had gone into soccer instead of football. A lot of fans have theorized over the years where he would slot in according to the ability he has shown over the years. All of these are fairly moot points. Back in BAU Alejandro was forever dogged by the reputation and the political life that his father pursued. There were many moments where he could have gone against his father and charted his own path in life. There were many moments where he could have simply kept his head down and didn't feed into the narrative that the media was crafting for him to play in. But there is no moment that he has ever regretted the choices he made on these matters. Yes playing for Argentina was the dream he went to bed with every night. But Alejandro Chainbreaker had to live in the world during the day. There were a lot of places He could have gone if he wanted to seriously pursue his soccer career after college. Mexican teams have always welcomed in Argentinian Acadamy washouts to measures of success. Football has been good to the Chainbreakers and he is happy for what he has been given.

Carter Knight's decision to play in the ISFL started in his freshman year of high school. He had the option to play either basketball or baseball, and while he enjoyed basketball better at the time, he decided to stick with football since all his friends were football players. Luckily it worked out, and he's now a starting QB on a great DSFL team.

But what if Carter chose basketball? Where would he be now. Since in the NBA you can skip college, Knight would have entered the NBA as a fresh 18 year old, and would have already spent a few years in the league at this point. Since his favorite football team was the Hawks as a kid, Knight decided to join them in an eventful free agency, and he led the team to the playoffs alongside Kevin Huerter and Trae Young. This trio led them to the Conference Championship, where they had to face Giannis and the Bucks to win. This team, with the help of Knight, beat the Bucks in 6 and was headed to the Championship. They beat the Suns in 5 and Knight was enshrined in a Finals MVP as well as a trophy. To this day he would be on the Hawks, and would likely retire a HoFer.
