RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - CementHands - 08-08-2021 Ragnar is truly disappointed with the apparent lack of nastiness in his game. People just straight up are not afraid of him. Players don’t seem to care about matching up against him, and even some of the crazier D line guys try to pick him out instead of matching up against one of the linemen. Now normally this targeting would be a good thing, this means that if he’s being targeted then maybe they are correct and he is the weakest of the bunch who are serving up the pancakes? Hopefully this is the correct reasoning, but none the less he will not stand for it! If he’s the weakest of the bunch, then imagine how damn feared the Arizona O line will be if he elevates his game? The entire defense will be circling games against Arizona more than they already are and ruing the week that they have to play against the best. To get there will be no simple task. Starting off with being angry, one great method could be sleep deprivation. Now, sleep is very important for high performance, but nothing makes a man cranky quite like a crying baby all night and little to no REM sleep. To simulate this experience Ragnar plans to break into a local orphanage and record crying babies on vinyl (none of this low quality mp3 crap), so he can play it back in his safe, and baby proof home. RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - The_Kidd - 08-08-2021 Well for my player, I have never had an outstanding season packed with eye-popping stats. My player is the consummate professional --- he checks into work and does his job, and does it well. I have yet to play one season of being a liability, but it is easy to say many seasons I have underperformed, especially when compared to my cornerback contemporaries. My rookie year epitomized how my career would shake out: I had the ability to provide contributions to nearly every statistical category, but I did not necessarily dominate anywhere. The one stat I have been at best is catch rate percentage. I always tend to lead the top of that category, and that's with me guarding #1 receivers 4/7 of my pro years. I've had a season with sacks, a season with blocked kicks/punts, a season with 100+ tackles, a season near the top of the leaderboard in pass deflections. One hope would be that this year would be the year I can have the full array of stats, as I currently lead the league in forced fumbles. My true wish would be that one season I could finish top two in the league in interceptions. It is rough knowing that in a 16 game season, I am lucky to finish with more than 4 interceptions. Meanwhile, there are always random corners that are a tier or two lower than me that seem to turn into Champ Bailey and finish with 8 or 9 picks. The worst part is that I usually watch them have their breakout games against my team. Also, interceptions are obvious game changers and I only have one defensive touchdown in my entire career. I hope I can get two more before I retire. But in the meantime, I just like being consistent and not looking like a sieve. When other star receivers say they hate being guarded by me, that's all I need to know that I'm okay. RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - MobiausGrander - 08-08-2021 We are at the halfway point of the season and have about two weeks left. This is usually the time where players look at their season totals and cumulative performance and judge how they have come along since the start of the season. For me, I think I have underperformed a bit relative to my personal standards but I have been having a solid season none the less. The one thing that I need to improve on to help the team is to get better at tackling the ball carrier during run plays. Too many times this season, I have felt like I have been having a mitigated impact on our defense due to having a bit of lackluster tackling in regards to the run game. To improve upon that weakness, I have been working on tackling drills with our running backs on the team in order to get my reflexes up to speed in those conditions. In addition, I have been watching film in order to more familiarize myself with run plays so that I will not be caught off guard during the rest of the season for our potential playoff push. I just hope that this extra practice will not be too late for our push. RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - r0tzbua - 08-08-2021 As has been tradition in the last few seasons Guy Fields still excels at tackling and all around stats for the Linebacker group. Sadly also as always he has been lacking a lot in terms of sacks on the board so that is certainly a part of the game he has to get better in, especially looking around the other Linebackers. Fields never has been able to get into the running for the Linebacker of the year award since a lot of the jury for that award mostly look for sack statistics which he is simply said not delivering at all. While the best Linebackers of the ISFL are already on pace for 20-30 sacks with Thomaslacher lingering at fifteen he himself is stuck at four sacks. While his tackles and tackles for loss would land him in the top five of all Linebackers, his sack numbers are not even enough for the top 10 and thus he will have a hard time getting some recognition in this awards season again. While it is hard to say what he can do better as the veteran Linebacker on the Hahalua it is pretty clear that something needs to change there. Hopefully a last minute push at the end of the season can help there or at least some more training will help to cement his final season next year before age will take a hold of his performance. RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - Luciddreams702 - 08-08-2021 The Halfway point of my Rookie ISFL Season. So far my players performance has been far less than what I had hoped for. Through ten games I've managed a whopping nine tackles, one tackle for a loss, and one sack. Disappointed is an understatement. I knew there would be a gap but I don't want to be a liability for my team. My on the field goals for Lucid are to get more involved in the plays currently averaging less than one tackle per game, that cant happen. I'm not here to vanish on Game Days. I'm here to perform. I've also got to find a way to get into the opposing teams backfields. One sack through ten games is way less than i ever expected. I need to get back to performing and making game changing plays like I did in the DSFL. I know it sounds cliché but i have to trust the process. Keep earning TPE and updating weekly. I've got my eyes set on a player trait that I feel like will be a difference maker. I've started to max out attributes and really sculpt the type of player Lucid will become. The rest of the season you will see a different player. Which will hopefully improve not only my players individual statistics but become a contributor for Philly. RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - mango8154 - 08-08-2021 I have a couple of aspects I would like Daniel O’Leary to improve in, one of which is I would like to get in the passing lanes more to stop pass completions, O’Leary only has 1 int (which was in the first couple of games of the season) and 3 pass deflections, which isn’t bad but a lot of passes come to a receiver near O’Leary and I would like to stop the yard gain completely instead of allowing a reception and tackling them, O’Leary would have to improve his intelligence I believe to achieve this as it would help with reading plays a bit better and would allow him to get into a better position to make a play. Another aspect I would like Daniel to improve in is his sacking ability, he has 0 sacks on the season which compared to other linebackers is really bad, his fellow linebackers have been great in terms of sack numbers (Thomaslacher is 1st in sacks) but there have been a few plays where O’Leary has been close to one but couldn’t quite get there, I believe improvement in agility would help him get to the QB faster to get those elusive sacks that he is searching for. RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - Kyamprac - 08-08-2021 Zoe Watts has had one of her best seasons of late, leading the league in rushing yards and boasting a pretty impressive average. While she's managed to sneak her way onto the pro bowl roster here and there and found herself playing for an Ultimus at one point, she hasn't exactly been a strong contender for awards since her time in the DSFL, where she nabbed offensive player of the year and running back of the year. If she has any hope of landing on an awards ballot this season, she needs to keep gaining yards, maintain a higher average, and perhaps most importantly catch-up on the leaderboard for touchdowns. Awards voters love their averages and touchdowns. Right now she's tied for fourth in rushing touchdowns, with 8 on the board, and has only notched 1 receiving touchdown thus far (not that awards voters always look at those closely for running backs anyways, or put a ton of stock into it anyhow). The only real solution for increasing the number of touchdowns is obviously to just take Jim the Vampire down a notch. That guy is a dirty touchdown poacher and needs to just stop so Watts can get better. But not really because we all love Jim and hope to see him succeed too. tl;dr Watts just needs to get gudder. RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - mithrandir - 08-08-2021 Through 10 games, Andrew Witten has 59 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 3 interceptions, and 19 pass deflections, with no touchdowns. His 3 picks are tied for fourth in the league, while his 19 passes defended are tied for eighth. I know that interceptions can be random, but I am hoping to continue my PD pace, and perhaps even improve on it. I will do so by increasing my competitiveness, which took a big hit in the offseason due to regression. I would also like to increase my number of forced fumbles. Finally, I would like to increase by endurance attribute, and in the process, hopefully find a way to score a defensive touchdown or two. I have found that awards voters tend to look favorably on touchdowns, so I wish to score one or two this season. If I can maintain or slightly better my rate of stat accrual, I can hopefully move into the top ten in some career stats this season. My 28 career interceptions are just 4 behind 10th place Hall of Fame CB Benson Bayley. My 157 career PDs are just 12 behind 10th place and HOF CB Mervin Leonard. Of course, I am also competing with rival S22 CB Brandon Booker for a shot at the top 10, but my short term goal is to make the top ten in both. RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - furiousPanda - 08-08-2021 Halfway through the season the Portland Pythons have a real shot at the playoffs. They are currently, 5-1-1 and this is great especially since the refs screwed them over with the tie and loss on questionable calls. Both of the games were winnable and the team was struggling at the start of the season. Panda McKyle has a lot of training still left over for his short term success. Currently, he is not the top of any categories except for quarterback rating.Which is very important, but this rating isn’t the end all to be all. There is plenty of room for improvement, especially McKyle’s arm strength and accuracy. 64% accuracy is not good enough to win the Ultimini and it should be the goal. So everyday McKyle works on his bench press and throwing motion to improve his strength and accuracy. In addition, he takes his receivers out after practice to work on their route running. Being a team leader is difficult but making everyone accountable will help the team. His short term goal for right now is to get the Pythons to the playoffs with improved quarterback play. Hopefully, this will help Portland achieve their long term goals and finally bring the Ultimini back to the Pythons. Code: 209 words RE: (S30) PT 3 - Short-Term Goals - Tayjay - 08-08-2021 PT pass |
