RE: (S32) PT 5 - Bad Call - cole6249 - 12-12-2021 Riggins pushed against the O-line hard, the center surging forward towards the goal line. It was a 4th down game winning drive. Riggins felt the defensive end wrap his arms around his legs and start dragging him down to the ground. Using his athleticism he managed to twist his body and extend his arms towards the goal line, before being crushed to the ground. In a gap in the pile, riggins stared out his helmet. 100% a touchdown he thought! Before releasing the Refs had called him short. The fans howled in protest and began booing loudly. Usually Riggins did not tolerate this behavior, but he needed this win. He began arguing with the Ref, pleading his case. Begging them to review the tapes. Fans began pelting the field with objects, such as popcorn and beer cans. “This is going to get ugly real soon” thought Riggins. As he turned around he was shoved from behind, and a brawl started on the field. Oh well…. If we are going to lose, might as well have some fun! WC:177 RE: (S32) PT 5 - Bad Call - mango8154 - 12-12-2021 Well for one I do not condone referee abuse at all, they have a hard time and abuse instead of criticism is not ok, however Daniel O’Leary has no such qualms about ref abuse, which will be obvious, I can’t remember any call in the league I am exceptionally pissed about, maybe I’ve just blanked it from my memory, So I will be talking about a bad call from his uni days, in the semi-final game against the University of manchester in his first year, he had just recently became a starter for his uni team and it was going well, he had already had a strip sack however his team was only winning by three, Daniel got through the O-Line on a 4th down go for it and barely touched the QB after the ball was thrown, roughing the passer first down, the other team went on to win, Daniel wasn’t pleased and had to be held back before he killed the ref, fun times. I was on defense covering the right side of the field. The game came down to the final score as it was tied, if I remember correctly. And because of how long the 3rd down was, everyone knew a pass was coming. Being the weaker CB, it was coming to my side as well. Lo and behold, it did and immediately I deflected the pass, but the refs called a bs dpi on me. It was ticky tack at best, but the automatic first down put them in field goal range. After the chip shot, the Sailfish won handily. Devastated we went to the locker room with our heads low knowing this season was a wash. Ultimately I felt it was my fault but everyone said I played it clean. We couldn't do anything about it since we are fined for complaining about the officiating but something needs to change. We can't let the zebras determine these moments. Let us play! RE: (S32) PT 5 - Bad Call - GuitarMaster116 - 12-12-2021 PBE Affiliate RE: (S32) PT 5 - Bad Call - MamaB - 12-12-2021 SO MANY PENALTIES! We, the line, have not moved! I swear, sometimes if we blink too many times the refs are ready with the whistle. I know that every once in a while, during a game especially, we are too ambitious, and we make a jump too early. However, all it takes is for it to happen one time, and it seems like the refs are down our throats, trying to penalize us for breathing too deep or for a cough. We practice and play hard. We are a stable and ready OL, but we are not deserving of these constant calls. We have been running laps, doing drills, and holding steady in practice. One time we even stood on the line for an ENTIRE practice, just to prove to ourselves and to our coach that it’s not us, it’s the dang refs and the ref’s anticipation that is getting us penalized. 152 words RE: (S32) PT 5 - Bad Call - Sebster - 12-12-2021 SHL Affiliate Sebster RE: (S32) PT 5 - Bad Call - Birdman - 12-12-2021 SHL - LordBirdman RE: (S32) PT 5 - Bad Call - juniped - 12-12-2021 PBE Affiliation RE: (S32) PT 5 - Bad Call - Frostbite - 12-12-2021 WSBL Affiliate |
