2021 is going to be defined by one word, CHANGE.
The biggest change being the transition from DDSPF16 to DDSPF21. This is going to impact all aspects of the league from player builds to strategies team use. There is no longer a best build or best system to run. Games are going to be decided more off roster and schemes than before. It’s going to feel a lot more like real football and I am all for it. I can’t wait to no longer hear “but we tested at 73%.”
I think the league is going to grow in popularity. The next reddit class has a chance at being the largest class ever. This is a real chance for not only user growth but more expansion teams as well. This will result in more user participation and keep people glued to the league. This will also help with users not having to hold multiple jobs and free up some users time to have more fun.
As for teams standing out, both expansion teams Berlin & New York look poised to be a consistent playoff contender in the upcoming seasons. This only further fuels the expectation of more expansion teams by the end of 2021.
The league is trending in the right direction and I love it.

Another successful calendar year for the ISFL. This past year they saw a name change and a forum shift, and now headed into 2021, the league seems to be in a really good spot. I would imagine that the league will expand at least one more time in 2021, maybe multiple times. There are talks of a flashy new sim, and while the sim is going to be new, it still won’t be as flashy as Madden 05 was watching your player actually play and not a stupid dot moving laterally at weird times. 2021, I will continue to call it like I see it from a league level, I hope there will be many great decisions made by the HO that benefits the player base and encourages activity and retention. I hope that in 2021 we finally have a draft broadcast where the casters aren’t afraid to speak up and say that some picks might not be the greatest pick in the world or the nicest person ever. I want more objective reporting in 2021 and I want people held accountable for their decisions. I look forward to continuing my dominance as one of the best follows on Twitter that the league has to offer by shit posting and inciting remarks from people in real life capacities using my role-playing account. By this time in 2022, we will have a much better idea about the type of player Boss Jr turned out to be, and I hope that he isn’t complete trash. [253]

I think 2021 will be a very good year for the ISFL. The more popular it gets, the more players there will be, the bigger the league can grow.
With more players coming, it will require a lot more scouting to make sure you get the right guys on your team. I think the good GMs will stand out more and the weaker /inexperienced GMs will struggle more.
Changes to improve are very important and it will help the league. With the new sim there will be struggles, but everyone will get the hang of it. I feel more players may retire earlier so there can be recreates to take advantage of the new sim. Players in there first coulple of season may take over the league for a few seasons as a lot of players towards the end of their careers retire early.
I think the DSFL will be loaded up the next two seasons as more recreates join. I thin the ISFL takes a couple of season to gain another two teams if the sim works out well.
More customization with players will create more exciting games. More schemes and drafting the right players will have bigger impacts on teams. The next few season will be exciting for everyone.

Next season is going to be very strange, as well as the next 5 or so seasons following it. The move to a new sim is going to completely upend the league for a very long time as teams look to figure out how to appropriately build and gameplan. First we'll have a lot of teams moving to new builds with their players and inevitably some are going to end up with subpar builds or in systems that don't work well for them. Then we're going to have a ton of teams that struggle to get anything going with the new schemes and don't know the appropriate way to design a gameplan. Without any form of sim testing this will be exasperated because teams wont have an efficient way to try and glean information for how to do it. What will eventually happen is some team or teams will have someone script something that does sim testing in a very limited fashion that helps them gain some information that they can build on. It won't be as good as the systems we have now but it will be enough for them to win for a few seasons while every other team takes time to figure the system out. I wouldn't be surprised to see another 3 win dynasty form in the next five seasons because of this.

One thing I am really excited for 2020 is to see how my player, Rickie Vaughne, can do with a more optimized build and at a higher TPE level. CBs seem to be getting a big boost in the stats we can see and show. Another thing I am super excited about for the new year is to see more games in the new sim engine. From what I have seen so far it looks beautiful and I cannot wait to have all the league games played in the engine. Seeing that ball fly from the quarterback's hand to the receiver's hands is just fucking beautiful to behold. I cannot wait to see more of it and I have no doubt that the sabercats will excel in this new format. I am also very excited to see what happens with our brand new GM Matty. Matty is one of my longest friends in sim leagues and I am very glad to see him doing well and getting this job. Overall, the Sabercats have a very bright future as well with many strong prospects and veterans alike making up the roster for the foreseeable future. Lets go Saberpussies! errrr Sabercats. 2021 is finally here. I think we can all agree that any year is better than 2020. With all the things that everyone across the world had to deal with we should be only going up from here even if it is a slow long process. I think there’s many things to look forward to in the international simulation football league. Personally I’m looking forward to my player getting better and me performing as one of the best QBs in the entire league. I’m trying my best to accumulate as much TPE points as I can and put myself in a position where I can win and perform effectively. I think the league is making some changes that are much needed but I think it also has to make a lot more changes. The Dodd animation just hast to go to someone else to take their time in animate the viewing side of the game just better. It’s not that hard to at minimum have one or two highlights showing pictures of a player when they score a touchdown or anything like that. With how many members and how active we all are I don’t see how that is much of an issue or hasn’t been done already. I hope that the new things that are added are better hopefully they’re not annoying and difficult to learn. I hope 2021 brings additional ice and fell teams so more people can play in that league I don’t see why there isn’t more already seems very clicky. I’m excited to see what the league will bring I’m just putting my best foot forward and the rest is yet to come.

Written Option: The New Year is fast approaching along with a flashy new sim, a wave of re-creates, and a potentially larger draft class overall. What do you think 2021 is going to look like for the league? Do you think the new sim will dramatically impact player/team performance? Are there any specific players or teams you think will stand out from the rest in the coming months?
as somebody who was on the transition team with over 600 hours in between DDSPF20 and 21 , I can say it won't change too much. The sim in 16 was okay, good for what we used it for. 20 is a great chance, and Jpach and CO have done a fantastic job chaning and altering everything but, I don't believe long term it changes everything. It just delays it.
It wont be long till people will cry about the current sim and want to go back to the old one because of some anecdotal experience they think the sim team missed. Somebody will no doubt manage to find the kinks in it all with playbooks, somebody will develop a tool that allows people to mass sim test and then the race to the meta continues, ruining the new sim too. Then we will be about halfway in 2020 and GM's will begin crying that if they dont spend 50 hours a day and 50000 test sims then they are "letting" their teams down! You're a fictional GM, not a breastfeeding mother. The people here are soft as shit and as much as I'd like we can't change that in the sim engine. All you motherfuckers are crying babies at the best of time, you don't wanna hear what you are in the worst times. You bitches.

For 2021, I think the league will have a lot of new found enthusiasm from both the players in the league and the owners. There are a lot of recreates that will be coming into this class and I think it will bring a new spirit to the league. I think the new sim will dramatically affect the performance of the DSFL which I am looking forward to personally. With the TPE cap it is difficult for positions such as quarterback or wide receiver to make as much of an impact as possible or that makes it enjoyable to watch. With the new sim and the different archetypes and traits I think it will make every archetype more viable and not force everyone into a specific meta. In the coming months, I think we will see the Liberty take a huge step. They have a lot of young guys on the come up and with a culture change on the come up and new blood into the organization I think they are absolutely a team to watch coming into the first year with the new sim. In the draft, I think we will see the identity of the future liberty built coming into the new year and it will be special to see.
