Now Baltimore has had a bit of a rough start to the season, dropping to 2-5. In three of those losses, we were either leading or tied with 2 minutes leading or tied with a little over a minute left in the game. However, if we take a random sample size of just the first week of the season, Baltimore is the best team in the ISFL. Austin did have a better point differential that week, but they also had one more giveaway, a worse overall QB performance, 140 fewer yards, the list goes on. Ya gotta look at that week as a statement game against Orange County, a team that has historically been the best franchise. As such I think the only fair thing to do is to crown the Hawks as the best team in the league, unequivocally. All 5 losses since then have simply been flukes. In the first 2 weeks of the season, the team had over 1000 total yards. That doesn’t just happen. Just need to work on our defensive 2 minute drill. That brings me to Woody. Sitting at just under a sack per game with 6 in 7 games. Rocking 44 tackles too which is good enough to be leading Baltimore. Nothing else really to write home about so without some stepping up he’s not going to be winning any awards, but if he can keep grinding and putting up points where he needs to, it’ll be a solid performance to be proud of.

Tijuana currently sits at 2-2. After week 1s embarrassment of the Birddogs, the Luchadores have looked shaky. A blowout at home against Portland in week 4 has the team reeling. The Luchadores defense has been very weak, giving up over 400 yards and 30 points a game. Live LaughLove has thrown 5 interceptions in 5 games and Miracle Whip has fumbled twice. These turnovers need to be cleared up before Tijuana starts winning games. This is a team with championship aspirations and they certainly have the talent to live up to that. The week 1 game against Dallas is proof that Tijuana has more than enough talent to close the season strong and make the playoffs. They put up over 300 rushing yards and Live LaughLove was dealing. The Luchadores strength going into the season was supposed to be their defense, but they haven't been playing complementary football. If they can get back to using their offense to help their defense, they can make some major waves.

Oh I love overreactions, or at least what may seems like overreactions. If I said the SaberCats were going to win the Ultimus simply because we haven't been buried yet, you'd probably call that an overreaction right? Let's dive into some actual stats that may be able to prove that's not so crazy. Coming into this season, there was a consensus top 3 (on paper) in the ASFC - Arizona, Austin & Honolulu in some order. We've played each of these 3 in the first 8 games, unfortunately to a losing record, but if you actually watched these games, you'd know that we were dangerously close to winning all 3 if it weren't for a very questionable sim call & a long pick 6. In a league dominated by high octane passing offenses, the SaberCats have allowed fewer yards through the air than anyone else in the league, so why would you think this is unsustainable? Bottom line, if we can hold serve in games we're supposed to win, then screw around & win a game or 2 we're not, maybe we can break up that top 3, but why stop there? If history has taught us anything, it's that we just need to get into the dance to take the crown.

The start of the season for the Butchers has unfortunately been a disappointment so far. Tied at the bottom of the division, and allowing the most points total so far in the season. Coming off of a playoff berth last season, to say this season has been a disappointment for the Butchers is an understatement. The offense has had little to no production, only outscoring the Otters when it comes to putting points on the board. This does not however mean that our season is over. We are almost halfway done, and there is plenty of time to collect ourselves and make a run for the playoffs. It's looking unlikely that we will be able to get much more than a wildcard appearance, but it is achievable. On the personal side of the league, Omni Man had a riveting start to his career, nabbing two sacks and a safety in the first three appearances. Unfortunately he has not made any noise since then, but it is early in his career and he can only improve.

In terms of team, things are going great. We’re leading the division (or well tied for the lead, but whatever, basically the same), and we have an above average PF. Our points allowed number is a little high for complete comfort, but like we’ve been winning so far, and isn’t that what matters in the end? As for my personal stats, things…. are not nearly as peachy. Despite being close to maxed out on TPE, i only have eighteen tackles, with no tackles for loss or sacks. Is it the worst thing in the world? Absolutely not, but like i’m putting up the kind of stats I was before when i was a defensive tackle. Hell, even then i averaged around three tackles a game. Obviously some of it could be the system i’m playing in (a 3-4 is much less friendly to DE’s), but in general i’m just not playing as well as I really should.

Well we are almost half way through the season now, and damn it has been a rough go here in Baltimore. We were expecting to be a decent force in the conference at this point not to the extent of leading it but atleast pushing for a playoff spot. Things have gone awry for some reason and I honestly don’t know what it is. We started off 2-0 and since then have just been getting blasted in every game. Defense doesn’t seem to hold it together. Offense is almost all go on all cylinders. Me personally I don’t like how I have performed I feel my numbers are very low compared to where they used to be. My deflections started off to a big start, but just no interceptions and minimal tackles, maybe teams aren’t throwing my anymore since last season I had the 2nd lowest completions allowed, but I must say it is a bit frustrating.

Well the first weeks have gone by fast and I have a lot to say on what has happened so far, first of all I would like to talk about my old stomping grounds the Minnesota grey ducks, of course I am disappointed in their 5.00% record, I get you can’t always be great in the DSFL but I always want the grey ducks to be successful so seeing them be average isn’t fun, now on the the Austin copperheads, things have gone really well so far, 6-1 and we are joint best in the league, however we have had too many close games for my liking, in Austin we guaranty heart failures, our only loss has come to the only other team on the same win percentage as us, which while annoying is a good sign. In terms of Daniel O’Lears performances, he has been disappointing, regressing in most stats apart from pass deflections, hopefully he can really start putting in better performances, but as long as the team is winning I don’t really mind.
