(S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - bex - 03-29-2020 Marcella Toriki is perhaps uniquely qualified to handle social distancing and community lockdown. Given that her family lives across the world, she already has a mastery of technology and routine that allows her to stay in touch with all of the people in her life that she loves. The Toriki clan is ready for any disaster so long as there is internet access. While the loss of the season would be deeply unfortunate, as Marcella Toriki lives and breathes football during the season, Marcella has enough going to the point where she would easily find enough to keep her busy. Many are aware that Marcella is slowly working towards her master's degree. Not having to worry about football would allow her to focus on that instead. I think that New Orleans as a team would stay very close even in the event of a shelter in place order. The team already has a consistent group chat to keep in touch that would definitely be used more and more. I think the team also does video chats every couple of days, as well as movie nights using the Netflix Party extension. Like the Torikis, the New Orleans Second like would remain close in heart regardless of physical distance separating them. (S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - Jason - 03-29-2020 SHL PT (S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - siddhus - 03-29-2020 Well if the NSFL closed down that would be a rip to be honest. I mean it makes sense, virus to good for us, and we don't want to be infected. But the thing is, lots of teams need the money from attendance gates to run their teams. Don't wanna name names(cough cough Vancouver Moose lol) are pretty poor right now, and if they want to ever get better they need more monies. The league would also be missing out on a big opportunity as the number of new players and buzz around the league would improve, as it would be the only league that stayed open during the virus. As for me, if the league closed down from the virus I would probably get depression tbh. I have no life or friends so I can not talk to anyone when in isolation so it would be really hard. So if anyone wants to be my friend hop in my DMS, to be honest. But. during the break, I would be on the grind, training my arm, accuracy, and offensive making sure I am the best quarterback in the DSFL for whenever that new DSFL/NSFL Season starts. Just to sum up: league you better not close, you have too many fans and are going to mess up big opportunities if you close. This was my Ted Talk 228 Words (S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - SDCore - 03-29-2020 PBE PT Claim (S21) - PT3 - Quarantine - scorycory - 03-29-2020 Well Orange County is a beautiful place with a ton of people so as nice as it would be to take the time to relax in sunny California we would probably get the hell out of there and go to the most isolated place imaginable in order to continue our training. We have already discussed a course of action for this and have settled upon temporarily relocating to the island of Tritan da Cunha. This island has the distinction of being the most remote inhabited archipelago in the world. There are only 250 permanent residents and they all have British Overseas Territories citizenship. As we would not be permanent residents we would not be getting this citizenship but we have arranged for visas to be acquired should the NSFL be shut down for the season. We would continue to practice in a beautiful and safe environment while still effectively being isolated from Covid-19. Kacey Dream would be disappointed in missing out on the opportunity for a championship but he totally understands that it would also be the best thing to do in the circumstances. He would also be a little embarrassed to admit that he would be excited to visit one of the most beautiful and least traveled places in the world and would be excited to embrace the adventure. Regardless, if the league were to postpone operations, the players would need to get creative with their productivity. Most of our guys in Portland have equipped their homes with plenty of training equipment, so in the event of the games being postponed, they would have no trouble hitting the weights almost as well as they do at the facilities. The issue with at-home training is definitely distractions. At the player’s homes, they have plenty to keep busy with. Another large part of staying on the top of their game is film study. As many notes as they take and as many hours of film they watch, nothing can compare to actual physical training with teammates. Video conferences are crucial in this regard, discussing what improvements they can make as best as they can while maintaining the minimum social distancing requirements. Hopefully, once the season resumes the players won’t have lost a single step. The use of at home training is incredibly vital in these trying times, as is self isolation. Those who are fans may feel robbed of not seeing their favorite players, but once this virus dies out, their teams will come back stronger than ever. |
