This is Richard Leaking's favorite time of the year; Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas come rattling at you back to back to back and it's an incredible opportunity to spend time outdoors in beautiful weather doing fall activities (pumpkin patches, cider mills, apple picking, all of these activities absolutely slap and if you disagree you're wrong). Alternatively, the chilly nights are also an excellent opportunity to gather in with loved ones, build a mountain of blankets atop oneself, and snuggle in for a movie. As far as horror movies go, you can't go wrong with either of Ari Aster's recent films, Hereditary and Midsommar. They are both properly spooky, in addition to doing a wonderful job at messing with your head.

As far as Halloween plans, Leaking will be dressing up as his favorite character from HBO's smash hit series The Wire, Stringer Bell. Some friends have told Leaking in the past that he physically resembles the actor that portrays Stringer, and although Leaking does not see the resemblance, he is humbled and thrilled that such a comparison has been made. Leaking was able to convince a few friends to dress up as other main characters from the show such as Avon Barksdale and Prop Joe, and together, they are going to go around robbing stash houses (but instead of drugs, the stash is candy, and instead of armed robbery, the "robbing" is ringing the doorbell and yelling trick or treat.)

Normally a fun-loving family man, Pete “Plop” Miller is not a fan of Halloween. He hosts parties on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Kentucky Derby Day. But on Halloween, he wants to be left alone. There are no decorations in the yard. He turns off all his lights. He hides in the basement, covered with blackout curtains, and watches a quiet movie.

So, what happened? Why does Plop hate Halloween? As with almost everything, it can be traced back to childhood. Plop grew up poor. Very poor. His family barely had enough money to buy regular clothes from Goodwill; they couldn’t even dream of enough money to buy a costume. When he got his first job as a teenager, Miller saved money all year in order to buy a costume. He was so excited! That quickly turned to disappointment when he got to the first house. Even though he was only 14 years old, he was already massive. Standing at 6’ and weighing 250 pounds, he was bigger than the average adult. The woman who opened the door refused to give “a fully grown man” some candy. After being berated for being “too old to Trick or Treat”, Pete went home and cried in his dark basement.

He’s never gotten over it, and he hates Halloween.

Zach Crossley has been a huge fan of Halloween ever since he was first able to dress up as his favorite favorite children's movie character Woody when Zach was five years old. Zach has been dressing up as movie characters ever since. From age 5 to 13 he focused on children's movie characters including an adorable squirtle outfit at 6 and a surprisingly creepy rendition of Stitch at the age of 12. As he entered his teenage years, Zach's focus turned to horror movie costumes. He did well worn costumes such as ghost face and Michael Myers, however he is most proud of the Alien costume he and his dad put together for his senior year of high school. The movie was the favorite of his recently deceased grandfather so Zach wanted to honor him on Halloween.

When he went to college, Zach toned down the Halloween celebrations as he strived to focus on his athletic career and his school work. However, now that Zach recently become a father, he has a reinvigorated passion for the holiday. He and his wife decided this year decided to do a couples costume plus one. In honor of the recent remakes of the original star wars trilogy, Zach and his wife dressed as princess Leia and Han Solo. Their baby daughter was dressed as a miniture Chewbacca and stole the show at the Buccaneers holiday party.

Then glute goes to the store to pickup up his costume. You already know glute likes to dress up. This year glute dressed up as a duck since he is on the grey ducks. Then glute goes to a local party where glute starts off his halloween partying like the party animals he is. Dancing, singing and having fun thats how glute is starting off his halloween. Then after that part glute goes to another party, cause you alreadg know just one party isn't enough. Glutes does the dancing and singing again and just having fun. Then after that second party you already knkw glute went to a 3rd party to have even more fun. 3 parties and right after that glute decided to hangout with his fans and go trick or treating. Glute loves candy, so he tries to make the most and get the most candy, trading with his fans too. Halloween is one of the most favorite holidays for Haha, there are a ton of activities he loves to do. First of all, he loves to eat candy, he’s got a pretty bad sweet tooth. Haha would go to the grocery store and stock up on candy. Some of his favorites would be Resse’s Cups, Snickers, Milky Way and Three Musketeer bars. Chocolate is the king of all candy! He would enjoy snacking on them all day because Halloween is a good excuse to eat a ton of candy while he might not get to eat throughout the year. Another activity that Haha does is watch scary movies. He would invite his fellow friends and teammates to watch spooky movies. While it’s dark and people are not paying much attention, he loves to prank people during Halloween. If everyone is quiet and focused on the movie, Haha would suddenly play screaming noises or ghost noises to spook everyone. This especially works on his former teammate Big Edd. First off, Edd is spooked pretty easily. When Edd would be too focused on eating candy corn and the movie that he would not notice Haha in a scary mask sneak up right behind him and yell “BOO!”. It would tick Edd off because he usually would drop all of his Candy Corn.

Carter Fox, recently claimed off waivers by the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers, spent his Halloween weekend bringing some joy to kids at the local children’s hospital. With trick or treating essentially cancelled in most places this year, especially for those at higher risk, Fox thought there wouldn’t be a better time to help give back to the community. He had been working on a Spider-Man costume for the better part of two months, putting in as much detail as humanly possible. After all, Spider-Man was his favorite superhero when he was a kid. Fox’s older brother works with the CDC in Atlanta and to help eliminate the risk of transmitting anything, the two worked together to incorporate an entirely new facemask design into the actual Spider-Man mask. This allowed Fox to show up and hand out candy to the kids at the children’s hospital without putting anyone at risk. After bringing smiles and candy to the kids, Fox headed back home to spend some quality time with his family, enjoying the usual rotation of scary movies and Halloween snacks. While Halloween this year was a lot different than it is in normal years, Fox did his best to make it as enjoyable for everyone as if it were a normal year.

First of all, Charlemagne Cortez does NOT watch scary movies, and not because he's a scared little baby. They're super unrealistic and just mostly stupid with bad writing. He's not scared of anything, I can tell you that much for sure. Mostly on Halloween, he's out partying, because he's super popular and everyone loves him. He's the coolest guy in town and anybody who thinks they're somebody wants to be where he's at. When he goes out to the party, he goes dressed as T-Pain. Every year. The DSFL's coolest quarterback deserves to go out dressed as the world's coolest rapper. When he's at the party, he doesn't go to mingle with people. He lets them come to him, because of course they will. He's the quarterback of his team and of any room he's in. His raw animal magnetism draws people to him, which makes perfect sense because he's the life of the party. Every joke he tells is hilarious and every story has people hanging on his every word. If someone tries to get to close, his lineman are always there to have his back. Big Marlon Alexander is his number one bodyguard and he makes sure the general party rabble doesn't get close enough to spill anything on his Gucci boots.

Peter Patterson had never been a huge fan of Halloween. He went trick-or-treating as a kid (often dressing up as his dad using his old football jerseys), but after he reached his teenage years it stopped being a huge deal for him. This continued up through his rookie season in Kansas City, when the offensive line threw a halloween party and invited the rest of the team players. Wanting to be a good team player and enjoy the team bonding environment, Patterson quickly threw together a basic wizard costume to join in on the fun. When he showed up at the party he was impressed by the level of effort that some of his teammates put into their costumes. In particular he was impressed by Felix Archstone's haristyling skills, which he flexed by helping a few teammates put the finishing touches on their Halloween anime cosplays.

After a lot of the Coyotes standout S25 draft class stayed in the DSFL for their second season, the olinemen once again coordinated the now traditional team Halloween party. Having been named as co-captain of the defense in his second year, Patterson felt he should put more effort into extracurricular team activities like the Halloween party and asked hair extraordinaire Archstone for assistance with his costume. Felix was thrilled to be able to work with the canvas of Patterson's luscious dreadlocks, and agreed to help. Patterson showed up at the KCC halloween party to a great reception dressed up as some anime character he had never heard of before.

But, as he was walking home pleased with the results of his increased efforts, a passerby startled him by yelling "Get out of here, weeb!" Patterson decided that in future years he would try to straddle the line between putting in effort dressing up but also not coming across as an anime nerd to strangers.
