RE: (S26) - PT 3 - Oh, the Who-manity! - Birdman - 12-20-2020

This holiday season, LeBong Simwell is spending his time in his hometown New Orleans. He’s a lucky guy to have been drafted the same place that he grew up and played college ball. Because of his strong ties there and his general selfless personality, LeBong spends every Christmas season buying toys for young kids whose families are in difficult situations. Very little people know this, but LeBong actually never fully developed his brain or personality past the age of 14. While this certainly hampers him in many areas of adult life, in fact the dysfunction is too long to get sidetracked on, it makes him really good at staying on trend with kids and getting kids really cool gifts.

This year, LeBong has been obsessed with getting his giant mitts on as many PS5s as he possibly can to distribute to the boys and girls of New Orleans. While very misguided, he’s even gone so far as to hijack a Best Buy delivery truck (of course he has friends on the inside) and reroute it to his charity warehouse. LeBong figures that Best Buy is clearly rich enough and in a robin hood like gesture, he can steal from the rich and give PS5’s to the poor. This PT is not an admission of guilt and cannot be used in court.

Eleven Kendrick-Watts, having grown up in a somewhat poor area, has always been dedicated to using his privilege to give back to the community, and when he arrived in Kansas City, that didn't change. One of the biggest causes he fights for is homelessness. Kansas City can get surprisingly cold in the winter time, and to be without a roof in December is a tough situation. Pretty much all of his salary that didn't go to comically expensive training has been donated to various causes to help. Along with some of the team's other rookies like Xander Creed, Cheese Farley, and Tre Washington, Kendrick-Watts has even founded a charity aimed at improving the quality of life for homeless people with clothing and food drives, as well as trying to make it easier for some of these people to get back on track with their lives. Something he does specifically for the Christmas season is a massive gift drive across the entire city, where Eleven endeavors to collect gifts for many different groups of people. One of these is children who are sick in hospitals, to whom Eleven personally gathers and delivers gift bags. Other times, he will gift children with bad family or financial situations, who may not be able to properly celebrate the holiday season.

The holiday season is not a favorite of Marlon Alexander. The family gatherings, the constant repeating music, the cold weather… it’s all just kind of tedious. Alexander prefers the summer time, when people rely on him to keep things cold. Nevertheless, Alexander still finds ways to feel needed throughout the winter. Lot’s of people like donating toys and gifts to children of need over the holidays. Marlon likes to visit orphanages and hand out cool treats. Usually ice cream! Everyone likes ice cream! According to him, Alexander likes giving out the frozen treats to help kids forget about their dire living situations even if it’s just for a short time. “These kids are forced to grow up too fast. They need a chance to just be kids. This also gives me an opportunity to meet them and show them someone is thinking of them. Sometimes kids don’t really need material things as must as they just need someone to listen.”  That’s not to mention the kids almost always love meeting a real life ISFL pro football player as well. This year will be Marlon’s third year doing this. It’s fair to say that over the years, he’s made a lot of fans out of these kids. Marlon would say he’s the one who is the fan of theirs though.

The Liberty had a shift in management this offseason with the newly appointed General Mangers of Lip Chap & Lip Stashe. The duo wanted to cultivate a culture of teamwork and giving back to the community. The best time to giving is of course the holiday season. The GMs decided to split up the team into Offense & Special Teams and the Defense and for them to work on making this holiday truly special for those in need.

The Offense lead by veteran QB Brock Phoenix decided to do a toy drive for all the local kids in the Philadelphia area whose families were unable to provide the type of holidays these kids deserved. The Offense was able to donate over two thousand toys to kids in need.

The Defense was lead by newcomer Gary Goodman and Doy Fieri. Gary had been very vocal in his one season in Baltimore about the importance of charity and had setup a foundation to feed the homeless. He decided to start another foundation in Philadelphia with his good friend Doy Fieri. Gary was able to solicit enough donations to cater a meal that fed almost one thousand people during the cold Philly winter. Gary learned a few tricks to help cook because of Doy’s vast knowledge. The Goodman Gives foundation will hopefully help the area for years to come and extend it’s reach outside the holiday season.

Von Hayes is a true humanitarian, and because of that, he donates a lot of his free time to helping the local community where he grew up. In the swamplands of Florida, Hayes goes out and helps out his local neighbors whenever he has an opportunity to do so. A lot of the local work he does involves help keeping the local fauna and environment healthy and clean of all forms of debris and trash. He also has started his own foundation, dedicated to helping out rural children. Think of what Dolly Parton's foundation does, but for families who can't afford to put their kids through any form of education. The whole Butchers organization also supports the Chicago community through multiple acts of charity. Every thanksgiving week, they gather the whole team together and hold a giant food drive to help those who cannot afford thanksgiving meals in the Chicago area. They provide assistance to the elderly who are alone and need help with basic daily tasks as well, but nothing compares to the work that they do in conjunction with the Make a Dream foundation. Through his 5 seasons in the ISFL, Von Hayes has been one of the most active in making dreams come true, helping the program accomplish over 40 wishes since he started. With the heart of gold he has, Hayes is always looking for more ways to help out the community, and is looking at starting more foundations and charities for those in need.

Everything below this sentence is written in jest.

Over the holiday period the Pythons GM asked his squad to go out and do something that would benefit the less fortunate, those who dont have it as good as the Pythons players. Defensive End Demon Jaxson stayed up the entire night after that request, thinking about who he could go out and help, who was less fortunate than his 7-0 Portland team. Suddenly it hit him, and he wondered how he hadnt thought of it before. Portland were unbeaten, and who could have the most contrasting fortunes to them around this time, other than the team that was their reverse. With that Jaxson gathered up all of his teammates and went on a road trip to Kansas City to visit the Coyotes. They spent the entire weekend there doing charitable deeds, such as teaching the defense how to get at a quarterback, and showing the offense what you needed to do to score points, as well as drawing up some playbooks for the coaching staff to search through, and film to study for their next game against the Dallas Birddogs. When this weekend of good doing was finished up, the Coyotes looked like a completely new franchise, and Jaxson now truly believes the team can finish 7-7, thanks to the help of him and his teammates.

Swantavius Jones was always fond of animals, so when the Berlin Fire Salamanders management offered the team a chance to give back to their local community, Jones opted to volunteer at the local animal shelter. He managed to convince the team's kicker Karmichael Hunt to come along with him, and the pair's first assignment was to clean out the stables of abandoned race horses. While not exactly ecstatic with this assignment, the Berlin duo dutifully finished the job. After a spot of lunch, the next task was to run an adoption drive in the local park.

This time, many of the Berlin stars joined them. Joseph Petrongolo was in charge of the cat stand, and helped a number of families find their future furry friends. Danny King was also in charge of a different group of cats and managed to have double the number of cats adopted than Joe.

But the hit of the adoption drive were the fire salamanders themselves. No one had ever considered adopting a fire salamander before, but the chance to have a real live mascot of their favourite ISFL team in their house was an attractive prospect for many, so Berlin is now home to a few hundred domestic fire salamanders in fans' homes.

Buck Nekkid grew up in Hawaii where the cost of living is insanely high and good jobs are hard to come by. He lived a very modest life with not many luxuries so this is probably why he chooses to spend his holiday season helping those in need no matter who they may be. On typical off days from practice Nekkid can be seen offering his assistance to the local soup kitchen because everyone deserves to have something to eat. In these trying times he also donates canned goods and other foods to the kitchen to make sure there is enough to go around for everyone.
Making sure no one goes hungry is not the only thing he focuses on but he also donates clothing so people can survive out in the harsher winter conditions and toys for the kids because every kid deserves a present on Christmas Day.
After helping out at the soup kitchen he like to go and visit the children hospital. Seeing the joy on the children’s faces when someone they have rooted for on the television shows up to root for them is like no other. He makes sure to bring gifts for all the children there and see each one for as much time as possible. The holidays are a time to be merry and bright so he tries his best to make sure everyone can feel that way.
