Son of absolute legend in the NFL Steve Atwater is ready to play and his name is Steve Atwater Jr. He seems to have come late so he didn't have no normal training camp that other players that have been signed had. Instead he has been hittin the gym and also fielding some calls from teams in the developmental league to see who maybe he can play for. He never really got an official pro day being from such a small school like the Colorado School of Mines which is a real school by the way, look it up, the mascot it the Orediggers. It is not normally a school you see pro talent come out of especially sons of legends but the young man has gotten into all kinds of trouble in his young life. He found himself in and out of jail for small offenses but through that has gotten a chance to better himself while also continuing on grinding his body to get stronger. Atwater Jr. missed his senior season due to legal issues but was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing and after that whole thing, he was clean from there. He has been out of school and out of prison for awhile now and now at an older age he wants back in the game. He showed off his strength and quick feet in some private workouts and teams were impressed by his knowledge of the game and his story of overcoming the challenges he has had so far. Teams will take a risk but as far as training camp, he didnt get one.

This year’s training camp was a new experience for wide receiver Tychondrius Hood. After being freshly signed with his new team, the Berlin fire salamanders, and a long free agency. Having spent his entire professional career with San Jose, Hood wasn’t sure what to expect heading into camp. He knew some of his teammates such as Matt Krause, as well as Mario Von Pebbles from his Grey Duck and Sabercat days, and was sure he’d be able to get his mindset on the coaches process with their help. Day 1 started with a complete hazing, unmerciful and grueling. Hood was made to do the “free agent death course” which consisted of multiple stages of painful and physically daunting tasks. The first was a 60 yard pit filled with thousands of live lobsters. Hood had to swim through lobsters instead of water basically. Hood managed to make it to the other side, but lost 2 fingers in the process. If you look at Hoods performance week 1, you can tell he wasn’t 100% ready for that one. His fingers would be glued on successfully the following day. The second task was a mountain of desk chairs stacked on each other. Hood managed to climb halfway up before flopping down, but was eventually able to make it up. The final task was to eat 47 raw eggs, which Tychondrius surprisingly did easily, shocking and creeping out many of his teammates. After the hazing on day 1 of camp, things were fairly normal other than Hood missing 2 of his fingers. Ty felt like they managed to get a lot done and grow as a team, and feels confident going into the rest of the season.

Lawrence Miller never actually left over the break. It's kind of like the scenario where people think about getting locked into a grocery store. liquor store, whatever, but the Baltimore Stadium instead. He just got lost, no one would help him find his way out. Some players even texted him, purely to make fun of him. Well, you would expect that someone stuck in a place with an insane amount of training facilities to come out buff, wouldn't you? Miller actually found his way to the concession kitchens instead, which had not ended as well. Let's say his slow start to the season is actually about as expected, the team just hopes he can get back into form in a year or two. I mean, they considered transitioning him to a linebacker, that is how bad this situation was. It's what living off stadium dogs, burgers, nachos, and pop will do to a person. Thankfully, the same teammates that had texted him to taunt him are helping him get back into shape. After all, they didn't expect he was actually lost, they thought he was just trying to be funny. It was a little strange that he never showed up to any of their meet-ups, but he always seemed to be late to those anyway. Plus, he ended up making friends with some of the staff members there, who were also completely unaware of the situation. It is fair to say this will be a talking point for many when looking back at Hawk history.

Training camp is always a miserable experience. You try and heal yourself up in the offseason in body and mind and when you get called back for training camp you really want to get back to playing football but everything is worse about football. You forget all the pains that you had, you're stiff as hell from the injuries you didn't think you had (or injuries you picked up in the offseason that you didn't tell the team about but just "happen" to get on that first day) and from the lack of form that you have from where you were the last time you played. Everyone is a worse player in training camp then at any point in a season and yet its the time people most want to enjoy football. Chainbreaker is spending the offseason as he always has in a high elevation environment just chilling and doing basic cardio. That low oxygen environment is important for getting the stamina to punch through all the rust built up but still having the time to recover from the wear and tear on the regular season. Chainbreaker goes radio silence the moment he is released from the team at the end of the season so its also an interesting expeirence finding out all the events from the playoffs and the draft.
