I won both Quarterback of the Year and Most Valuable Player in what is hopefully making a strong case for my second Hall of Fame player. Cortez has now won each of those awards once, as well as Offensive Rookie of the Year and been elected to three Pro-Bowls. On top of all that, he owns the new record for highest quarterback rating over the course of one season. Now, when I look forward to my future in the league and what I hope to accomplish over the next ten seasons, I would definitely have to say helping the Arizona Outlaws win another Ultimus. That would really be the crowning achievement of Cortez's career, if he could say he was the starting quarterback of a championship team. We've gotten really close on a couple of occasions, but we've still got a really strong team, so here's hoping we can get back on track and finally do the damn thing. I'm not sure I could justify getting into the Hall of Fame without winning one title, unless my stats were way off the charts. I think that's definitely a needed skill in my line of work within the league. I'd like to think about where we'd be in another ten seasons. My hope is that we've created strong league systems that continue to stand the test of time. I'd like to see the Rookie Mentoring team continue to make strides in making our league understandable and navigatable for newcomers. I'd like to see a team of league workers dedicated to retention, so that our league can grow stronger with a mix of new users and treasured veterans. I'd like to see us craft better streams, with more opportunities for engagement, and further graphics that make a visually pleasing watching experience. I hope that we can get a full gameday broadcast schedule together, both for the ISFL and the DSFL. Most importantly, I hope that HO is able to grow to be able to keep up with the league, and that we have new voices and new passions coming into HO that can bring in ideas that I can't even imagine. I hopefully will not be in HO in ten years time, so I hope that whoever is leading the league is able to push for continued betterment, building on what we've done already, but unafraid to continue pushing for change where it's needed. Originally, it was called NSFL back in my day. A little tidbit for those rookies out there. But there are plenty of memories in the past year I have made, which accounts for almost a decade in the ISFL time. Two real moments stand out to me. My original season, Season 21 for the ISFL, where my player Haha Mango-Panda was drafted by the Dallas Birddogs. Largely, I did not know what I was going to get myself into. But this was the most fun I had in a season. We had a ton of users Kyle, Steg, Gucci, Edd, Kim and Bayley all in the same locker room. It was exciting catching pokemon in discord and logging to watch the games together and just generally hanging out. Another great memory is the Sarasota Sailfish S27 Ultimus run. With Haha, on that stacked team. It was great to watch the season unfold. We were winning games and just having fun. All the great members of that locker room really made it feel like home. This made me appreciate that season overall since it had a similar feeling to the first Birddog season I had. But a ring also helped. Code: 212 words RE: (S31) PT 1 - End of a Decade - The_Kidd - 09-19-2021 It's unreal that I have been around for eight of the ten seasons. I never saw myself lasting for over a year when I first joined. I'd have to say I did join at the weirdest time. I am a season 23 which means I am squeezed between two of the most impactful draft classes of recent history and often forgotten about. My main goal is to be one of the last premiere players of my draft class to retire. I dobb have to think that I was fortunate to come in when I did otherwise I probably would not have lasted long with such stiff competition. The first part of my career involved being around most of the OG London Royals. Several left after one year but I got to play with most of them and helped to establish the culture that the Royals are known for. In my first year, we lost the Ultimini after sneaking into the playoffs and upsetting Minnesota. We attracted many future great users like Z-Whiz, Crunk, Swanty, ABH, Katarn, Crow, Platonocat, Slate, Magluibylet, and so many more positive active players. Of course, I went up and they decided to win the first of many Ultimus trophies without me. My ISFL tenure was shaky at best, I got drafted to Baltimore but only spent one season there because we had another expansion and all of our GM's moved to take over new teams. I had just won rookie of the year, the team was set up to be solid, and it was all gone after one season. I entered free agency(I'll admit, I wanted to eventually get to Arizona and playfully troll Zamir when my player outproduced him just cause of how much I saw him tweak everyone else, then he went off the rails, almost as bad as Kya being fired or the Bachelorrette). Yeah, a lot of stuff happened, but we were very inconsistent in Austin which hurt my drive to be an active member in the community. Even after the Ultimus run, we had a down season after everyone predicted us as ASFC champs. I decided to leave and go to New York with the hope of restoring the drive and possibly recreating hoping to have a much more stable second career. RE: (S31) PT 1 - End of a Decade - Vaelynn - 09-19-2021 My most favorite moment of the last 10 seasons was definitely my record breaking DSFL game with the Portland Pythons. I think that was one of the biggest reasons for my continued interest in the league and watching the games… there are always “sim gonna sim” moments, this was just the first time that it directly benefit me as an individual. It was a great moment for me to watch my player carry the Pythons to a big win that guaranteed playoff positioning. Remus ran for 269 yards and 3 touchdowns on 5 carries – easily setting the record for yards and yards per carry. I actually ended the game with a 30 yard run that reduced my average yards per carry. Every time I touched the ball it was an explosion. I sometimes watch that game as I fall asleep, the sound of my dot scoring touchdowns is so soothing it immediately puts me to sleep. I ended up easily winning an award at the end of the year for the best overall individual performance in a game. The league is full of moments like this (maybe not as awesome, but still), and it is 100% the reason why I continue to participate! RE: (S31) PT 1 - End of a Decade - SwankyPants31 - 09-19-2021 Interesting timing on the PT for me since I just finished the career on my first player and began the career of my second. I think my favorite memories of the past 10 seasons, and by extension my favorite part of a player’s career, is the entire draft process. Coming into the league in S22 as part of a massive draft class was an amazing experience, and I really think I was lucky to have done it since there haven’t really been any classes of that magnitude since, with the exception of the S25 reddit class. The experience and challenge of having to set yourself apart from 280 other people was such a fun experience. Beyond that though, I continued having fun throughout the seasons with the draft. After a couple seasons I found myself in the Tijuana Luchadores war room and helping with the draft process in the form of both scouting and discussing with the war room who we were targeting and who we should take at any given moment. A couple seasons after that I became one of the GM’s in Tijuana, and was able to take the draft board and really make it my own in terms of organization and setup and all that kind of stuff. The draft has been my favorite part of the league, and I’m excited to see what happens in my recreate’s ISFL draft at the end of this season. RE: (S31) PT 1 - End of a Decade - Daybe - 09-19-2021 Over the past ten seasons in the International Simulation Football League, formerly known as the National Simulation Football League, I have made plenty of memories with my current player wide receiver Jackson Kingston who currently plays for the Sarasota Sailfish and has also formerly played for both the New York Silverbacks and the Colorado Yeti and the Tijuana Luchadores. Some of my fondest memories include my individual and team successes, which I have accumulated many through my career because I am a great player both on and off the field and have been involved in many very successful teams. In Tijuana, we were able to secure the season twenty two ultimini champion, the award given to the top team at the end of the developmental simulation football league postseason. In the International Simulation Football League, I was drafted in the third round at pick twenty six to the Colorado Yeti by general manager at the time Frick Nasty and his co general manager which was woelkers. My other biggest memories include winning the ultimus twice and beating @Kotasa who got exposed at times with his poor coverage but us Lavelle Sports Group members have each other's back and we stick up for each other, although we are not an agency. |
