Written Option: Football isn’t everything. In 200 words or more, describe what your player does for fun outside of football. Do they have any interesting hobbies or passions that they invest their time into? Are they in any athletic activities other than football? Do they sleep all day? What are they like off the field?

Football isn't everything. Outside of football or fake simulation football, Jr likes to partake in a number of activities. The season can be gruelling both physically but mostly mentally on an athlete. In between season breaks around the league, Jr likes to play basketball. He also likes to spend his time writing out these 200 word or so stanzas and submitting them on an external site meant to replicate the process of being an actual american football athlete, weird how that works out.

Beyond his fake simulation football career, Jr likes to work out. He plays soccer in his spare time, beyond that he hasn't really figured out how to spend his time. He's in a weird period of his life now where the things he used to enjoy the most, dont mean all that much to him anymore. The stuff that he thought was worth investing time into has turned out to be a waste by-in large and the stuff he neglected is really what matters. The idea that the only changes worth making are drastic is not correct. From here out the things he once enjoyed will be toned down in, time wise. The stuff he neglected , he hopes can be the way forward towards finding something of value. foirfe,

Having never been to the country before being drafted into the DSFL, Gilbert spends most of his free time exploring Tijuana and seeing what the city has to offer. On top of that, with the Luchadores being the only team in the NSFL or DSFL Gilbert sees himself as sort of an ambassador for the sport. He spends a lot of his free time raising awareness for the sport including holding camps to teach children how to play American football, and making donations to local schools to purchase football equipment, while also coaching for one of the local schools. He also obviously takes advantage of the Tijuana nightlife on weekends, and has been known to occasionally dip into that fabled Tijuana snow. All used responsibly, of course, as he’s careful never to go overboard. Gilbert also enjoys some quiet time at home once in a while. He plays video games at night as a way to decompress at the end of the day. There’s not really a specific game or type of game he plays, just whatever sounds fun, though Madden is pretty consistent. He has also been known to stream from time to time to a pretty small crowd of loyal fans.

Venus Powers spends a lot of her time playing games - and when it isn’t football, it’s board games. She is an avid player of Diplomacy and of Twilight Struggle and competes semi-competitively in her San Antonio neighborhood in a chess club. She also loves the outdoors, and spends much of the offseason on camping trips across the U.S. with her father, hiking intense trips up mountains and kayaking down rivers. However, her primary love and joy in life is the roller coaster. Ever since a trip to Cedar Point when she was nine years old, Venus has been fascinated with amusement parks and even briefly dreamed of becoming a roller coaster engineer before committing to sports. She has Cedar Fair and Walt Disney World season passes and travels across America in the summer racking up coaster credits and visiting new parks. The recent coronavirus quarantine has shut down amusement parks, much to Venus’ dismay, but she plans to travel to many of the parks nationwide once they open to ride the best new attractions. Venus has a number of more minor interests outside of football, like reading nonfiction books, completing large puzzles, visiting art museums, and listening to classic rock tunes on Apple Music.

There are not many people in this league nearly as interesting off the field as Cooter Bigsby. Living in a place as exciting as Yellowknife there are always opportunities for Cooter to get himself into some trouble and he often does. Polar bear hunting is always a favorite activity, great to bring a few friends and your 50 caliber and an inuit guide out on the sea ice up north and shoot a big ass bear. They don't taste very good. Of course everybody likes to party also and Cooter is no exception. In the nightlife scene in Yellowknife when Cooter shows up they know there's a lot of money about to be spent. Some of his favorite haunts like Johnny's Bar and Laundromat always keep Cooter's seat at the bar open or his favorite table available, and when Cooter comes into The Igloo Sports Bar and Grill they are always ready to make him anything he wants, even off the menu items. Once Cooter drug a caribou behind him on his snowmobile and asked them to grind some up and make him a burger while he watched the game and drank some beers. But considering he is a big spender and can easily drop a whopping $200 in a night how can they say no to their best customer?

While Jayson Kearse is most known as the bone crushing DE for Honolulu, most people don't know that in high school Kearse was a multi sport athlete. In highschool he played hockey, baseball, and basketball on top of football. During his time in the frozen North that is Yellowknife on his off days he would visit the the nearest hockey rink (it's Canada they are everywhere) and skate. He even joined a league for awhile. Now that he lives in Honolulu and there are no ice rinks Jayson has started playing basketball again. While there isn't a lot in door basketball courts, there are a ton outside. So when the Hahalua aren't playing Kearse takes advantage of the nice Hawaiian days and plays pick up games down by a beach. When not in the mood to play basketball, he'll go find a batting cage and hit for an hour or two. When not playing sports Kearse likes to wind down playing video games and listening to music. Most of the time he is playing Call of Duty, Madden or whatever new game is out. Some nights Jayson will drive around Honolulu playing music just taking in the sights of the city. Sometimes there will be concerts on the beaches and he'll check those out if he's not at an away game.

Hanyadi has a few activities he likes to do away from football, especially in the offseason when he doesn't have to worry as much about training, games, etc. During the season, he's hyper focused on football. Whether its his workout, practice or watching film, he's always doing whatever he can to be effective each week. One activity he likes to do that he considers leisure time is hiking. He loves the cold weather and being outside and in the woods is a great time for him to reset mentally and make sure he's ready for the coming games.

Outside of the season, Hanyadi likes to write in his off time. He hasn't actually made any work of note, but he does have a lot of stories and potential books in the wings once he gets out of football. He also likes streaming on Twitch to a small audience, usually around two hundred consistent viewers. He likes it that way, he can actually interact with his viewer base rather than just having the chat be a river of memes, emotes and copy pastas. Beyond that, any sort of cooking he does in the offseason is entertaining as well. He's not as good as his mother, but he tries to be.

Although football is his true passion, Calvin still has plenty of other interests. It takes a lot of food to sustain 340 lbs, so he's always eating. No matter where he is or what he's doing there's always time for food. Similarly, he lives in the weight room to maintain the strength required of an offensive lineman. It's important to keep his weight under control and ensure that it's all muscle. Football is of course his favorite sport, but he's also a surprisingly good soccer player. At 6'6" and 340 lbs he makes an imposing center back, even though his speed might not be quite up to par. Not many players are willing to challenge him on 50/50 balls or defend him 1-on-1 because of this, making him a capable player even it's not his best sport. After learning that offensive linemen could stand to be smarter he dedicated himself to reading more books, a struggle that was worth it but not exactly enjoyable. Not many books came easily to him, but poetry did manage to grab his interest. It might come as a surprise that a massive offensive linemen enjoys reading elegant poetry, but he's one of the few that understand the offensive line is the only true skill position.

Sam Sidekick likes to play superhero when he’s off the field. However, he never does it alone. As his name might imply, Sidekick is never the hero of the story. He’s the support character. That’s why he always need someone with him. This time he decided to play Benson Bayley Jr. sidekick. They both wore a disguise of super hero, Bayley as Batman and Sidekick as Robin, and went to the children hospital in Chicago. They spent the day cheering the young fans in the hospital. They brought toys and plushies as well as fan goodies to distribute to them. They ended up the day playing football with those who were healthy enough to go outside and play with them. After a successful day playing super hero, Sam Sidekick went back home to plan when he could do such an activity once again with his team. This is probably what bring him the most joy outside of playing football. Seeing the smiles on the young children’s face is the only rewards Sidekick want to receive. He started doing that when he played in the Norfolk SeaWolves and he just kept going and kept going. He does it about once a week now, alternating teammates to come with him.
