RE: (S26) - PT 3 - Oh, the Who-manity! - Kotasa - 12-20-2020 For the holidays Rich Triplet decided to fly back down to his alma matter and give back to the community that got him to where he is today, the fine city of Tijuana. Along with his fellow cornerback alums, Andrew Wentworth, Doy Fierre and Ben Arnold-Alexander the four corners decided to do many things to help the local community. Of course, the first thing on the list was to visit the local children’s hospital. However, the group came to find that there was no children’s hospital located in Tijuana. So, the corners decided to start a fundraiser for the city to construct their own children’s hospital. Donating 20% of their yearly salary committed to getting the hospital started. In the meantime, they helped at the local soup kitchen, working the fields and deliveries to ensure fresh ingredients were around for the freshest soup for the holidays. Rich loves Christmas as it is his favorite holiday and was very happy to be able to return to Tijuana if only for the holidays. “Coming from Minnesota, Christmas is usually a lot colder than it is, I hope that with our actions over the break we are able to make this warm Christmas a little warmer.” Code: 203 words RE: (S26) - PT 3 - Oh, the Who-manity! - Orhanello - 12-20-2020 LeBron James III is a very helpful and involved person in the community. He tries to be very involved in many aspects of Portland and the state of Oregon as a whole. He loves to volunteer and help children the most. Whether it’s the holidays or any time of the year LeBron James stays involved in charities, volunteer work or any aspect of Community building. One of his favorite places to go help is the Children’s Hospital were kids are sick and would really love some attention from their favorite football player. He comes to the Children’s Hospital with gifts and quality time for the kids to feel better. He also loves to visit orphanages and entertain the children there. He loves to perform puppet shows in magic tricks to have kids amazed with his subpar skills. LeBron James also takes the kids out to eat at fancy restaurants so they can enjoy and have a little taste of the privilege life. One of the most important things that LeBron James does is start college funds for all the children he meets. He is also open many public schools were children attend completely free and get a top-tier education as well as involvement in sports and extracurricular activities. RE: (S26) - PT 3 - Oh, the Who-manity! - Mojojojo - 12-20-2020 Ernest Lover did not come from a wealthy family and knows first-hand the difficulties of eating healthy while living paycheck-to-paycheck. During Ernest’s early high-school years, his mother lost her job and his diet suffered. He ended up gaining significant weight and it almost ended his football career before it began. As Ernest learned to use his new-found girth to his advantage (position-switching to DE), he also had to learn how to prepare filling and nutritious meals. It was during this time that Ernest met his now-wife Constance, and preparing and eating healthy meals together became a strong pillar of their relationship. Starting in college, Ernest and Constance made it a tradition to volunteer once a month at an after-school program that helped disadvantaged teenagers families learn how to shop for and prepare healthy meals for themselves and their families. Over the holidays, they would also volunteer preparing and handing out food at local soup kitchens. Having only just moved to Baltimore to join the Hawks, Ernest and Constance connected with Maryland Hunger Solutions, helping enroll local families in the state’s Food Stamps program. This holiday season, they will also be working with Moveable Feast to help prepare and deliver food to local families. For the first time, their young daughter will be joining them on the deliveries, making this truly a family occasion. RE: (S26) - PT 3 - Oh, the Who-manity! - abh89 - 12-20-2020 When it comes to the holiday season, there are few who are as involved and excited as Harrison Andrews. In addition to this, Andrews is a very charitable person and has committed to providing food and presents for families in need every holiday season. He has organized an annual food and toy drive for his community to participate in and makes sure to fund all additional food and toys that are needed. Every holiday season, you can be sure to spot Andrews at his local community center distributing toys to all the less fortunate boys and girls and helping out in the kitchen to make sure each and every family is able to enjoy a nice warm meal. Andrews has also started to get his teammates involved in the action as his event has continually grown in popularity. Last season, he was able to recruit the entire Sailfish secondary to come along with him which resulted in a record turnout. This season, Andrews plans to get the support of the Sailfish defensive line and linebacker group. In addition to assisting Andrews with his charity drives, many of his other teammates have started organizing similar events of their own in their respective hometowns. Seeing his vision spread throughout his team has filled Andrews with pride. Code: 214 words RE: (S26) - PT 3 - Oh, the Who-manity! - Sermokala - 12-20-2020 PBE PT |
